Antique Oak Spool/Thread Cabinet Goff's Best Braid 3 Drawer Case/Chest
Size is 17" wide by 18" deep at the base. 17 5/8" wide by 18 1/8" deep at the top. 11" tall. It is missing 1 small decorative block on the front left side top and a narrow 3/16" wide strip at the right rear edge. That strip would be an easy to find replacement as they used the same strips to hold in backs of mirrors and glass in doors of cabinets. I don't know if the dropped drawer pulls are original or not but were on it when I bought the cabinet out of an estate 20 years ago. Drawers are sound and solid and finger jointed all around. The lettering on the front drawers is on tin. Finish,lettering and advertising on the rear look all original to me. It is solid oak-not veneer. Not perfect but a nice chest. Up for auction is an antique spool cabinet display case made of English Oak with miscellaneous woven double embroidered lettering boxes inside. The front of this case reads CASH'S WOVEN DOUBLE LETTERS and measures 18" tall. 17 1/2" long, 5" deep and weighs 15 lbs. I believe this was used at Cash's Of Ireland Department Store. The case itself shows definate wear due to age. The front lower right side of the glass is cracked and the case has a few chips as can be seen in the pictures. The back of this case has an original picture of two woman and a child. The back has a top latch that opens to dispense the boxes that enclose the embroidered letters. This is a great old Oak Spool Cabinet Countertop desk with a leather top. It is 28 X 20.25 inches X 12 inches tall. The wood is in beautiful condition. The metal inkwell is intact but there is no insert. Words on the drawers were removed but the outlines are still visible. It looks like the original knobs were replaced with old porcelain ones. I restore antique furniture and have a backlog the hard work on this is done the layers of old paint have been removed except the small sections of drawer fronts which are just shellac all it needs to be finished is a little sanding some minor spot striping and a new finish. It stands 37 1/2" tall 20 1/2" wide and 18 1/2" deep. It has 9 spool drawers that hold 156 spools of thread or 1365 total and five larger open drawers for storage. The plate glass fronts are all present one was broken but I have a replacement cut and ready to install all the original hardware is present except one spool drawer pull which if copied from other present nothing major. Sides and drawers all appear to be original. back? see photo) This primitive counter-top display case was probably used in the early 1900's in an old dry goods or general store. exact age unknown. The cabinet is large and measures 17.5”W x 15”D x 18”H. The thread in the drawers is for display purposes to show you what size of thread can be used in each drawer and is not included with the cabinet. Condition shows scratches/nicks. Some minor wood chipping, and paint discoloration on the inside of the drawers. On the third drawer down you will see chips in the outer lower corners. This is a thick piece of glass that can be removed easily and replaced if desired. The advertising ... moreis bright and colorful but does have a couple of places with paint smudges and scratches/nicks. These can be seen by viewing the pictures in a close up view. My main goal was to keep everything in the original condition rather than alter these minor issues. Overall it is in nice original condition with some wear. Please see all photos of the piece. Antique Beautiful Solid Oak 2 Drawer Spool Cabinet (General Store)
You are viewing a beautiful Wm. Clark spool cabinet made of solid oak measuring 20" wide x 19" long x 7" high. I bought this wonderful cabinet 42 years ago in Ann Arbor Michigan and was told it came from a General Store in Ohio. It is clean and all original and has only been used for display in my home. It makes a great counter top display and is very sturdy and useful for any collection you may have. All 4 knobs are solid brass and original to the cabinet and both drawers are dovetailed. There is no replaced wood. No stains to the finish or significant damages to report. All sides and the bottom are original and in extremely good shape. Here is a 6 drawer antique oak J& P Coats Merchant Counter Spool Cabinet in it's original condition. It has not been altered other than normal wear. Cabinet has original brass knobs. There is a leather inset on the top as well as a place for an ink well and pen. Height:14" Length: 32 1/2" Width: 21 1/2" The top opens up to accomodate storage as well as having 6 drawers. This is a round cylinder style oak Merrick’s spool cabinet that still has it’s original glass fronts and original finish. The glass advertises. Merrick’s Six Cord Soft Finish Spool Cotton. The cabinet stands 20″ high and the knob in the center is 2 1/4″ higher. The diameter is 18“ This cabinet is in great condition, with normal wear, except it is missing the bottom round that cabinet sits on. The previous owner used it as a side table and never even realized there was a piece missing. It was a family piece and thats how it came to her. Also in one of the pics you can see a piece of tape( with some writing on it. We did not try to remove it, that will be up to the new owner. This cabinet came out of my uncle's estate in South Texas. That's all I can tell you about it! The lower right front corner has a bit of separation at the miter but cabinet is still tight and solid. Two of the Brass pulls have a little damage, one is slightly pushed in and the other is a little tweaked. Could use a good cleaning! There are no decals on the drawers. An Early Antique Oak J& P Coats Spool Cotton Cabinet in very nice display condition. I'm guessing the age to be around 1900 and would have seen this type of piece in the old General Store back in the day. This is a 4-sided advertising spool cabinet with an unusual design having rollup tambour panels on both sides. The top has 4 access doors to load spools of thread. Two sides are visible to few the thread. There is one rounded door on the bottom missing on one side. Otherwise. It is very presentable with the original finish and wonderful original advertising work all the way around. The cabinet measures 16" wide by 21" deep by 22 1/2" high. Weighs 43 lbs. Very Nice and Scarce old Country Store Thread Display Cabinet. Marked Corticelli on three sides with the original decals and also a fourth time on the oak bottom drawer. It is also marked with a small decal on the back with the words"Made in the USA by the Florence Co. Florence, Massachusetts. There are 9 glass front drawers and one oak drawer with metal spool holders in the backs of all 9 glass front drawers. All original with all original pulls. Excellent used antique condition as shown in the photos. It does have some crayon writing in a couple of the drawers- done by a child at some point and likely removable but this does not deter from the overall beauty of the display. There are no breaks or cracks but clearly discolored marks and water stains on the top and the drawer joints/trim pieces are a bit loose and could use some reinforcement. Up for bid is an outstanding antique Victorian era general store counter top spool cabinet made by the Richardson Silk Co. There are a total of 3 drawers. The unit measures approximately 14-1/2" inches wide by 16 inches long by 7-1/2" inches tall. Overall the unit is in excellent condition. The cabinet appears to be made out of finished oak. The front. Sides and top have general light scratching consistent with age and use, but no abuse. All of the drawers are present with the cabinet as well as the hardware for each drawer. Drawers work well and do not stick. The glass fronts on the drawers are very thick and are free of cracks, chips or scratching. The drawer pulls appear original. Two on the roll up sides and one on the one drop open door at the bottom of one end. In original finish but has sealed with laquer to preserve the decals. Local pickup only. Rancho Cucamonga, Ca 91737. I believe this is a 1880's to 1900's oak Coats or J&P Coats spool cotton cabinet. Overall it is in great condition for its age. It seems complete. Measures 20 x 30 x 15 inches tall. If you want more pictures please let me know. There are a few nicks on the top's edges. As well as a few dings on the top. I would say for its age. The wood is in good condition, with the normal type wear expected. The drawer writing is faint, but can be made out, as well as the back advertising. Sold as is. No returns.

This is an original finish simulated wood-grain metal 4 drawer glass front display cabinet for wooden spool mercerized sewing thread. It was manufactured by the American Thread Company All of the decals are still intact with good color. All 4 drawer handle pulls are firmly attached and in good condition. One of the glass panel drawer fronts is cracked. But is firmly held in place by the track(see close-up photo) No glass is missing and the cracked pieces could be glued together if you so choose. Up for consideration is an antique original KERR SPOOL CABINET made of walnut wood. It has all of the original cast Kerr Marked Handles. Back and the two side panels display advertising. Needs some work to spruce it back to life. Note also that the bottom drawer slides in and out tight. Front panel inserts are metal. And no longer have the advertising readable. Absolutely stunning Victorian Era Spool Cabinet/Display with original ONT cast decorative hardware. 100% original finish. Beautiful sheraton-style turned legs make this piece an elegant statement in any room. Someone. Early in its life, converted the top two drawers to accommodate silverware, but did so with inserts, so they could be easily removed to return the cabinet to its original condition. Based on the hardware, as well as the style of the piece, I estimate this to be from the 1870s. This is not your typical"country store" spool cabinet, and was obviously made as a much higher-end store display. Cabinet features 6 drawers and a gorgeous flamed burl on the drawer fronts. Obviously cut from the same piece to continue the natural grain from drawer to drawer. Each drawer includes two"ONT" original drawer pulls. We have decided to sell our Antique Merrick's Solid Oak 6 Drawer Spool Cabinet. It is in Great Condition but i t is missing the piece of oak between the top and second drawer but I am including 2 different pieces of oak to replace it but they will need to be cut to size which I am not able to do. It also looks like someone changed the knob positions on the 2 bottom drawers from the outsides to the centers but I do have some of the missing knob parts as shown in the last 2 pictures and an ad that shows the replacement knobs. GREAT 1890's RICHARDSON SILK OAK DISPLAY CABINET SALESMAN STORE SPOOL BOX CASE
Up for bid is an outstanding antique silk spool general store display cabinet made by the Richardson Silk Co. There are a total of six drawers. 5 being for spool rounds and one being for general storage. The unit measures approximately 16 inches wide by 21 inches long by 15 inches tall. Overall the unit is in excellent condition. The cabinet appears to be made out of finished oak. The front, sides and top have general light scratching. The top has slightly more moderate scratching. The finish is also slightly worn on the back top right. All of the drawers are present with the cabinet as well as the hardware for each drawer. The glass fronts on the drawers are very thick and are free of cracks, chips or scratching. The two knobs on the bottom drawer are also present. See pictures for a better idea of condition.

This a massive old Spool Cabinet dating to the late 1890's early 1900's. It is 30 1/4 inches wide and 24 inches high. It is almost 19 inches deep overall. Each drawer interior is 24 inches wide and 15 1/2 inches deep. It has a stained finish and it looks original to the piece. A small portion has chipped off on each side. Small but noticeable and mentioned for accuracy sake. The decorative molded trim is ornate and well made. It was obviously an expensive cabinet originally. There are small spooned carved trim piece on each corner and they remind of the Victorian era. Perhaps influenced by the Eastlake style of furniture and spoon carvings. I believe this is a 1880's to 1900's oak Coats or J&P Coats spool cotton or thread cabinet. Also written as J. P. Coats and J P Coats. Overall it is in great condition for its age. It seems complete. Vintage Oriental Spool Thread Braid Roll Top Display Sewing Cabinet Drawer
Another great New England estate find. Age is unknown but I don't think it's too old. It's in fantastic condition. The only things that I feel worth mentioning regarding condition: The roll top is a bit fussy when rolling it up or down. I learned that you have to gently push it in to keep it on it's track. There is a hole in the bottom of the drawer but I do not think this is a man made issue- rather it was part of the wood. Close up photo can be seen so you can determine for yourself. With a solid front lower drawer and 2 glass front upper drawers. The front section of each row in the upper 2 drawers would have displayed a different color thread. With multiples of that color in the slots behind. The lower solid drawer would have held extra stock. Or other sewing sundries. Excellent structural condition– solid and sound. Antique Clarks O.N.T. Spool Cotton Country Store Display Cabinet
Large two drawer Clark's Spool Cabinet. Walnut. Measures approximately 22.5" top, length 15.5" plus pulls makes 16 inches, 7.5" tall. The drawers have glass inserts with red backing and letters look like gold color. Pulls are original with the letters O.N.T. and decoration, all still intact. All original, shows wear on top. Smudge spot on glass partially covering the T and O on Cotton. I have not tried to remove it.

Up for consideration today is an antique 2 drawer spool cabinet. For Clark's ONT thread. It has the original hanging brass ONT drawer pulls. There is a little bit of loss to the black lettering on the lower drawer(see picture) There are a few scratches on top of the unit and one small bump in the wood that is smooth and finished over(see pictures) Overall pretty nice condition for its age. The drawers are lined with black felt but its not glued down so its easily removed if you so desired. Nice well built solid piece of antique furniture. It measures 21-3/4" long 15-1/2 wide and 7" tall. Both drawers slide easily without sticking. Great for a jewelry box or return it to its original use and store your spools in it! CONDITION The cabinet is in original unrestored condition. It shows minor wear throughout. it has some small dings. No cracks. Chips, warping, or swelling to wood. It has a crack glass on the side. Lovely Antique J P Coats 3 Drawer Spool Thread Cabinet
This is a lovely 3 drawer metal spool thread cabinet with advertising on the top. Both sides, and back of the cabinet(J P Coats Boilfast Mercerized Sewing for Hand and Machine) It is tan/light brown metal. The top two drawers have glass fronts and the bottom drawer has a metal front. All drawers have what appear to be original handles. Each drawer holds 12 spools across and 15 rows(180 spools of thread per drawer) All drawer brackets are in place and drawers slide in and out smoothly to add or remove thread. The cabinet is 18 3/4" wide, 17 1/4" deep, and 6 1/2" tall and weighs 18 pounds. There is rust here and there on the cabinet and inside drawers. The thread IS NOT included in the sale of this cabinet. Payment due within three days of purchase.
