Here is a nice old wood table top or wall hanging small curio cabinet display shelf. Stands 17" tall to the top of finials on top. 14" wide, and 4 1/2" deep. Three open shelfs on each end, and three shelfs in the middle with a glass door. Four wood feet are the same design as the finials on top of cabinet. I'm not sure what kind of wood it is. I would say the finish is a darker oak. Shelfs and frame is a good sturdy wood, the backing is a thinner type. Wood Case is in two parts that come apart to gain access to the house plans inside which are visible through the glass- one part is the removable cover. Some of them are missing their velvet insert but it wouldn't be too difficult to wrap and glue a small piece of velvet around a piece of cardboard and set it inside the ones that are missing theirs. The velvet inserts by the way that ARE included. Are stiff from age, but you could still pin a lovely brooch or earrings to the fabric. The color of the original velvet is a dark burgundy. Antique Oak Countertop Spool Cabinet Desk Wood w Leather Top Mercantile Display
This is a great old Oak Spool Cabinet Countertop desk with a leather top. It is 28 X 20.25 inches X 12 inches tall. The wood is in beautiful condition. The metal inkwell is intact but there is no insert. Words on the drawers were removed but the outlines are still visible. It looks like the original knobs were replaced with old porcelain ones. Very nice old desk. Wendt-Bristol Pharmacy Humidor Display Cases Set, Wood, Brass Trim
These are 100 year old showcases made by Schwartz ShoWell here in Columbus. OH. They were originally installed in the Wendt Bristol Pharmacy at Buttles and N. High St. and were removed and sold when the pharmacy downsized. We have used them since, but our new location doesn't have a good place for them. These two cases are unique. They were designed as humidors for tobacco. The low case is a humidor, with a slatted bottom in the case and storage below. The tall case was designed as a companion piece and has storage behind the small doors, which also have slats to mimic those in the low case. The low case does not have any wiring. The tall case was converted to halogen puck lights, but they probably need to be replaced. The tall case comes with sliding glass doors for the upper portion. This wonderful piece is an antique wooden mercantile display case for hand and machine sewing needles turned thread case. It contains two drawers; the top drawer has been broken in half at the back and has part of the right hand porcelain knob broken off. The bottom drawer is whole and contains 136 full and partial wooden spools of thread. It is in rather rough shape. With the finish and structure gouged up in several places, as pictured. It measures 12" x 18" x 5" Even with all the damage it has suffered, this piece is still great and would make a wonderful addition to the vintage sewing or craft room. We're sorry. This is beautiful antique Charles Bodach Company"THE LEADING SHOW CASE HOUSE" Chicago as stated on the brass plate attached on the lower center front of the showcase. The Charles Bodach Company manufactured showcases here in Chicago dating back to the 1860's. This case measures 82” long. 22” depth and 18” tall. The inside of the back 3 sliding doors have original mirrored finish. The glass looks to be original too as it has the old waves and scattered very small internal bubbles in a few areas. It has an old light blue velvet material on the inside bottom. The case was well cared for over the years as someone made the beautiful wooden 4 leg stand that the case is set on. The shelves are removable but not adjustable. The case is in good shape for it's age showing a bit of scuffing and wear but no major scratched or anything. The door function well and closes and opens as it should. It does appear that on of the side pieces of glass has been replaced or re-glued at some point as it is sealed differently then the other and a bit more messy. Though hardly noticeable except upon close inspection. This repair was not done by me. The whole shelf is sturdy and solid and doesn't wobble or show any sign of distress on the legs or anything. The Sealpackerchief Company was founded in 1908 and offered clothiers and haberdasheries the use of the display case as long as it was used solely to display and sell their sealed packages of handkerchiefs. The front cream. Red and gold decal shows the New York(N.Y. Trademark and shows, Patented July 27, 1909, March 10 1914 and Dec 17, 1918. The inside red and gold decal reads, This case is loaned with the understanding that it be used only for the display of Sealpackerchief" as well as"The International Handkerchief Manufacturing Company of New York" as well as, Trade Mark Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. The two sides. Door ... moreand bottom are solid 5/8" oak, the top and front are glass have no sharp edges. The back is also made of solid oak held in place by three small brass hinges that have heavy patina on them. The bottom of the back door has a half ball shape of brass that sits in a brass holder in the bottom to keep the back door secure if the door would be closed all the way. The top of the sides each have a hole approximately 1-1/2" from the back where the display had a dowle rod display to hold their sample handkerchiefs. This piece is hardly ever found intact with these cases anymore since they are so fragile. If you care to reproduce one. The color on the text is still very vibrant. There is an address stamped on this in a few places on the back. It reads: Allegheny Co. 6128 Easton St Louisville. Ohio Phone TR-52686. The phone number is difficult to read but what I have there should be close. The text on the front of the display reads: Peters"High Velocity" 22's. For power-speed-accuracy. Up for auction is a really nice old/vintage display case. It must have been used for jewelry or expensive items because you would of had to lift the case up. All the glass is beveled and fixed in place. The bottom is long gone tho it wouldn't be hard to add a replacement piece of wood. In pics 5 thru 8 you can see the bottom where there were 2 hinges. Description This is a Beautiful Old Antique/Vintage bowfront glass curio/display cabinet with two removable wood shelves. Acquired from an elderly estate in excellent pre-owned condition with only normal signs of use/wear you would expect for it's age. The cabinet measures app 22.5" H x 13" W x 6.5" D This cabinet has a flat back with bowfront& curved glass on the sides and front. The door opens at the front and has two metal buttons that recess in the door when shut to hold it secure(see pics) The door shows some minor rub marks from the metal button at the top of the door(see pic) The shelves sit nice and firmly on a wood trim edge on the back of the inside and rest on small wooden pegs at the front(see pics) There is also a metal hanger on the back for displaying/hanging on the wall. The previous owner had this hanging on the wall and used a little double stick tape at the bottom corners on the backside to hold against the wall. Has great logos and design that is on the drawer and rear of cabinet. Great joints on cabinet. This is a gorgeous wood and glass vintage display case. There are two glass shelves. The side walls are glass and the front has two notched sliding glass doors. Antique Arts& Crafts Era Wood Wall Mount Store Display Cabinet Thread Display I had an opportunity to go down state Illinois recently for the homecoming of my Alma Mater and shopped the wonderful sales. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! This one is very very cool. It's a farm auction find that no one could identify for me. But the general consensus(and I agree) is that it was more than likely a store thread spool display piece. Made of solid wood, it has a tiger oak decorative veneer that shows some wear and egdge shipping. If you like rustic, the cabinet is for you- if you are looking for a project, it would be a beauty to restore also. The cabinet measures 25 1/2" wide at the top, 22" ... morewide at the body, has 6 shelves that are 18 1/2" by 2 1/2" deep, stands 23 1.2" tall, 5 1/2" deep at the top and 3 1/2" deep at the body. It weighs 14 3/4 lbs. The shelves are rounded to hold rounded items(like spools) and you can see that there's 7, a little over) 2" wide spaces on each shelf- you can see the wood is a little lighter between each one- they are not physically separated, the shelf is rounded and smooth all the way across. There are numbers, 1-6 stenciled in what looks like gold with a black rim, starting 1 at the back of the bottom shelf and going up to 6 at the back of the top shelf- I have no idea what they represented, and there's no other markings or identification on the piece. The cabinet is unfinised at the top- making it appear as if it attached to something from above, or possibly was built in? The bottom is finished, but you can also see the heads of the hardware attaching the sides, so I do believe it was not meant for display- the cabinet does stand well on its own as the bottom is flat. Antique Wood & Glass Sterilizer Display Case Cabinet Barber Medical Dental Store
Antique 1920's wood and glass sterilizer display case with original tin adjustable shelves. My guess is that this was repainted probably back in the 1950's. The finish is a dry off-white. There is a chip on the front edge of the base that was never repaired when it was repainted. A lot of people replace the tin shelves with glass. You could just use the tin shelves as a template. This listing is for a vintage painted wood. Store display cabinet with four divided drawers.It measures 8.25" to the top of the drawers, 12.5" to the highest point on the sides, 11" across, about 7.25" deep at the bottom, and 6" deep at the top. The drawers are about 9.75"x6.25"x1.75" I think this might have hung on a wall. The metal tag on the side reads: Designed and Produced By W L Stensgaard& Accociates 346 Justine Street Chicago, Illinois. They made store displays from the 1930's through the 1960's. The cabinet is solid, but there is some paint wear, and there are scratches. There is a stain on the top.
