Antique Oak Spool/Thread Cabinet Goff's Best Braid 3 Drawer Case/Chest
Size is 17" wide by 18" deep at the base. 17 5/8" wide by 18 1/8" deep at the top. 11" tall. It is missing 1 small decorative block on the front left side top and a narrow 3/16" wide strip at the right rear edge. That strip would be an easy to find replacement as they used the same strips to hold in backs of mirrors and glass in doors of cabinets. I don't know if the dropped drawer pulls are original or not but were on it when I bought the cabinet out of an estate 20 years ago. Drawers are sound and solid and finger jointed all around. The lettering on the front drawers is on tin. Finish,lettering and advertising on the rear look all original to me. It is solid oak-not veneer. Not perfect but a nice chest. Antique Spool Cabinet CASH'S WOVEN DOUBLE LETTER English Oak Display Case
Up for auction is an antique spool cabinet display case made of English Oak with miscellaneous woven double embroidered lettering boxes inside. The front of this case reads CASH'S WOVEN DOUBLE LETTERS and measures 18" tall. 17 1/2" long, 5" deep and weighs 15 lbs. I believe this was used at Cash's Of Ireland Department Store. The case itself shows definate wear due to age. The front lower right side of the glass is cracked and the case has a few chips as can be seen in the pictures. The back of this case has an original picture of two woman and a child. The back has a top latch that opens to dispense the boxes that enclose the embroidered letters. The front of each yellow colored box reads Cash's Hemstitch Frillings for trimming Ladies& Children's Underclothing, also for Pillow Case's, Sheets.etc. Each ... moreone of these boxes measures 3" long and 1" wide. This is a great old Oak Spool Cabinet Countertop desk with a leather top. It is 28 X 20.25 inches X 12 inches tall. The wood is in beautiful condition. The metal inkwell is intact but there is no insert. Words on the drawers were removed but the outlines are still visible. It looks like the original knobs were replaced with old porcelain ones. Very nice old desk. Antique spool thread advertising display solid oak/mirror MERRICKS SPOOL COTTON
This is an antique spool thread advertising display with a mirror. Across top of frame: MERRICK'S SPOOL COTTON; and remnants of an eagle in the center. It measures 35 1/2" long x 25" high x 4 1/2" deep. The mirror is 29 1/2" x 6 1/2" and has some scratches and some black spots. It is backed by wood. I don't know how this piece originally worked. I think it hung as an independent piece. But maybe was part of something larger or a base piece that this hung over. There are slots on the inside of the frame work(see photo) maybe had sliding wires with spools on them, one wooden rod was there when I got it from my family's estate, and I added one so I could use it as a towel holder. Antique Beautiful Solid Oak 2 Drawer Spool Cabinet (General Store)
You are viewing a beautiful Wm. Clark spool cabinet made of solid oak measuring 20" wide x 19" long x 7" high. I bought this wonderful cabinet 42 years ago in Ann Arbor Michigan and was told it came from a General Store in Ohio. It is clean and all original and has only been used for display in my home. It makes a great counter top display and is very sturdy and useful for any collection you may have. All 4 knobs are solid brass and original to the cabinet and both drawers are dovetailed. There is no replaced wood. No stains to the finish or significant damages to report. All sides and the bottom are original and in extremely good shape. I am downsizing and this great piece needs a new home. Look over all the pictures for they are an important part of the description. Thanks!

Antique Oak Merricks Spool Cabinet Store Cabinet
This is a round cylinder style oak Merrick’s spool cabinet that still has it’s original glass fronts and original finish. The glass advertises. Merrick’s Six Cord Soft Finish Spool Cotton. The cabinet stands 20″ high and the knob in the center is 2 1/4″ higher. The diameter is 18“ This cabinet is in great condition, with normal wear, except it is missing the bottom round that cabinet sits on. The previous owner used it as a side table and never even realized there was a piece missing. It was a family piece and thats how it came to her. Also in one of the pics you can see a piece of tape( with some writing on it. We did not try to remove it, that will be up to the new owner. MUSEUM WORTHY Antique Oak Store Display Thread J.P. COATS SPOOL COTTON Roll-Top Sides 1864-5 This is an incredible store display dating to the Civil War era for J. P. Coats. My research indicates that displays were provided by the company free with the purchase of the spools. It is entirely made of oak and glass. With brass hinges on the doors and flaps, a huge, probably iron, screw on the bottom, and small metal nails. The view from the bottom shows dovetail fittings. It measures 22.5” tall, and is 16.25” by 21” at the base(including the decorative molding) Two opposite sides have“roll-top” type doors with wood knobs. They slide up and down smoothly. Both of these sides have decorative scrolls/ feathers impressed(carved? on each vertical edge(close up, photo 8) Both also have a large, gold-pained panel that has“J. P. Coats’ Spool Cotton. ... moreprinted in black, fancy letters. Below the roll-top door on one side is another gold-painted panel that reads“Black Nos. 8 to 60” in black letters. The other side has“White Nos. 8 to 60” in black letters on gold. The side for the white thread also has“Patent Applied For” printed across the top. Inside the roll-top doors are slanted displays for spools(see in photos 2 and 7) These are filled via two hinged flaps or doors on the top, shown in photos 5 and 6. You can see that the spool sizes have numbered slots on the top that correspond to the numbered bins on the sides. The other two sides have long wood dividers, each with a glass pane to cover the visible spools. Each of these sides has a gold-painted panel under the glass displays. On one side, J. P. Coats’ Spool Cotton No. 40” is printed in black letters; on the other side is“J. P. Coats’ Spool Cotton No. 50. I'm guessing the age to be around 1900 and would have seen this type of piece in the old General Store back in the day. This is a 4-sided advertising spool cabinet with an unusual design having rollup tambour panels on both sides. The top has 4 access doors to load spools of thread. Two sides are visible to few the thread. There is one rounded door on the bottom missing on one side. Otherwise. It is very presentable with the original finish and wonderful original advertising work all the way around. The cabinet measures 16" wide by 21" deep by 22 1/2" high. Weighs 43 lbs. Hello. My dogs don't go with the auction but they are available for stud service. LOL OK everyone knows what these are. How often do you see a pair of them though? AS FOUND. The condition of both are excellent and unmolested. Original finish to both, orig decals, glass, etc. All doors and tambors function perfectly and all are complete. These were pampered end tables for the last 50+ yrs, straight out of a residence, never been in an antique shop! Offered for free pickup near Cooperstown NY. I will quote for insured shipping on an individual basis at the buyers sole expense. Now the flaws: one small oak knob(pull) is missing. There is some candle wax(red) inside one cabinet top. Hard to tell.It is not warped at all, in fact nothing is warped on any hinged openings. It is usable and not really noticable unless you really look. We have decided to sell our Antique Merrick's Solid Oak 6 Drawer Spool Cabinet. It is in Great Condition but i t is missing the piece of oak between the top and second drawer but I am including 2 different pieces of oak to replace it but they will need to be cut to size which I am not able to do. It also looks like someone changed the knob positions on the 2 bottom drawers from the outsides to the centers but I do have some of the missing knob parts as shown in the last 2 pictures and an ad that shows the replacement knobs. With a solid front lower drawer and 2 glass front upper drawers. The front section of each row in the upper 2 drawers would have displayed a different color thread. With multiples of that color in the slots behind. The lower solid drawer would have held extra stock. Or other sewing sundries. Excellent structural condition– solid and sound. Glass fronts and the drawer dividers are in amazing shape! It appears as if someone has replaced the 2 drawer pulls in the lower drawer with one center pull. Brainerd& Armstrong Spool Cabinet This is a very old spool cabinet that held Brainerd& Armstrong spool silk thread. The name appears to be hand stenciled. I think this would be an early example. It has two drawers. The top drawer has all the original dividers, the bottom drawer is missing over half of them. Size is 14-3/4" x 9-1/2" x 3-15/16" Inside are a variety of old sewing items including a few sewing kits. Tatting shuttles, buttonhole scissors, tracing wheel, clasps, buckles, buttons. Condition is very nice for its age. It does have some dings. Especially on the edges and corners. There is a tiny piece of wood missing on the bottom left corner. Powered by The free listing tool. This is the'4 over 2' model which has four long drawers over two smaller drawers. Piece is original with lettering. Sides, pulls, and finish. It does not have the American Eagle Stamps on the sides and is missing one of the drawer description. Interior drawers are in good condition and also clean. Note the 45 degree corners. Overall size is 29.5 wide. 18.5 deep and 17 high. CONDITION Great Condition with no Serious Structural Damage On the top. The back slat does seem to be raised a bit, but it is not loose. You are bidding on an antique Belding Silks Spool Cabinet. A very nice and rare mercantile display! These are very rarely found especially in this condition. Measures approximately 17" deep. 20" wide and 7.25" high. I believe the cabinet is oak. The cabinet will hold a total of 617 spools. There are 7 missing pegs. This cabinet will come with contents which includes 48 vintage spools of thread as follows: 24 Belding Corticelli Richardson, 5 Belding Bros& Co, 8 Belding Heminway Co, 6 Corticelli, 2 The Brainerd& Armstrong Co, and 3 Clarks.
