Very nice antique 1890-1900 era tin and glass with a cardboard base display case. The only distractions for this case are two scratches in the glass on the hinged lid. The rest of the glass and the metal are problem free. It has a loose black piece of felt on the inside. The cardboard base has some fading but is structurally sound. The bottom has it's original 4 feet. The hinge for the lid works just as it should. The case measures 3 7/8" tall. 10 7/8" wide and is 4 1/2" deep. I have listed $12.00 for shipping. Old Retail Store Counter Top REXALL PENS Oak & Glass Display Case
This old oak case was probably used in a Rexall drug store in the early 1900’s. Holding nibs for ink dip and/or fountain pens. It will make a beautiful display case for small collectibles. The case measures at the base 14 1/2” long by 12 1/2” wide. And 2” high. The lid hinges at the right-hand end, with a hook closure at the opposite end. There are twelve 3” x 2 ¼” compartments, and one 12 ½” x 2 ¾” compartment at the back. The smaller compartments are labeled for REXALL Pen nibs of different styles and sizes. A few of the paper labels are missing or damaged. The oak is in good condition, and the finish is also in good condition, showing some minor wear consistent with age and normal use. A very old original counter/table top display case with a glass shelf. 5 sided glass with the bottom being wood. Looks to be oak but am not sure. It is old and showing use wear and patina. Top glass is cracked. Is a little out of square on corner but door will shut and stay shut. Has some nicks on wood. Can be easily reconditioned if wanted to restore it. Up for bid is an outstanding antique Victorian era general store counter top spool cabinet made by the Richardson Silk Co. There are a total of 3 drawers. The unit measures approximately 14-1/2" inches wide by 16 inches long by 7-1/2" inches tall. Overall the unit is in excellent condition. The cabinet appears to be made out of finished oak. The front. Sides and top have general light scratching consistent with age and use, but no abuse. All of the drawers are present with the cabinet as well as the hardware for each drawer. Drawers work well and do not stick. The glass fronts on the drawers are very thick and are free of cracks, chips or scratching. The drawer pulls appear original. The base is of dovetail construction with single board sides and 2 tongue& groove bottom boards. The 3 section glass top is attached to the base with iron hinges. The glass dividers are mortised and pegged. It has a brass lock and latch hook. Measurements: Height: 7” Width: 48-3/4” Depth: 23” The interior has been painted white as you can see in the pictures. There are old splits in the wood where the screws attach the hinges but the lid is still held securely in place with little or no play. The glass probably isn’t original but it is quite early as it is wavy. The glass has some wear with scratches. One piece has a small edge chip. It is 16 3/8" long& just under 9" wide and 4" deep at the top slanting down to 3" These are outside measurements. It is a locking case. Back flips down. The lock is working but is loose and needs a little work. Sometimes have to monkey a little to get lock to work, but it does work. The key is unmarked, may not be original. It does not appear to have been refinished and I believe all glass is original to the piece. A metal label from the maker is on the back side of the case. Condition: Their is a small. Vintage Store Glass Top and Wood Display Case Sales Counter 6 ft. Long
This store counter or display cabinet was already old in the early 1960's when it was purchased second-hand by the previous owner. I do not know the date of manufacture. It is 6 feet long. The glass is 22 inches wide, and it stands 39 inches tall. The glass portion is about 12 inches tall. There are wooden sliding doors in the back to access the glass display section. There are also two shelves in the back divided by a center partition. The top shelf provides a 6 1/2 inch height open area. And the bottom shelf provides about a 13 inch height open area. There are condition problems as there was once a flood that affected the lower part of the counter. As a result there is peeling veneer on the front as you can see in the picture. There is a patch on the back. One of the shelves in the back leaning; I think the support needs to be re-restraightened ... moreand re-fastened. There is some wear on the glass. There is staining on the white part inside the glass section. I have not been able to move this so I don't know what the side that is against the wall looks like. The case is in great condition with just one 1" wide clam shaped chip to the underside of the edge on the piece of glass on the top. The case was probably refinished at some point but if so then it was done very well.
