Beautiful Antique Chestnut Store Display Shelf. It came from a country store that opened in 1931and this shelf was in the store when it opened. I'm of the opinion it's much older or was constructed from older wood as the Chestnut tree was designated as extinct from the Asian Chestnut blight of the first quarter of the century. This auction is for one cabinet only but I have 2 of this size and one that is 7' tall so it will be listed seperate. I also have a matching but smaller cabinet with a glass door. This a very large substantial produce or product display for an antique store. General store, flower store or farmers market! It has a varsity of options in regards to configuration. Measures; 42" sq with all four leaves down. 66" sq with all four leaves up. Each of the 3 removable shelves are 11" deep and 40" long and about 3/4" thick. Stands about 29" tall to the top of the table and 47" tall with the top flipped up. The base lifts up and down with the aid of a metal bar that slips in to the frame. I believe it is oak. The legs certainly are and I'm pretty sure the slats and frame are too. There is some rust on the metal. A large amount of varnish has come off or is flaking off. antique VT country store DYO-LA Dye CABINET Dual tin lithos AS FOUND w/contents
Here's a very rare find being an honest AS FOUND country store DYE display cabinet. Complete with it's 1920's vintage new old stock contents. It's just as it came out of the store here in Northern Vermont. This DYO-LA Dye was made in Burlington VT and came from the Scampy Dane Store in West Charleston Vermont where was on display there, or in storage there, for many decades until the store closed in the mid-1990's. The cabinet is made of solid hardwood and is cherry color and could be cherry wood. The ORIGINAL varnish finish shows some loss on the door stiles and sides but is definitely the original one. It measures about 11" by 16" and is 7.5" deep. This is a rare model having the tin lithograph panels on both the front and back of the cabinet. It sat on the store counter with the door towards the clerk ... moreand the customer could still see the panel on the front. The front panel in in better condition than the back panel. It shows a couple rust spots and limited paint loss. The front panel is about perfect. Both have bright vibrant colors. Inside the door is a big"SPECIAL NOTICE TO DEALER" card. The store this cabinet came from was a genuine time capsule that ran continuously with various owners from the 1890's until the death of Scampy Dane in the mid 1990's. This cabinet was part of that time capsule and it retains is full contents of various dyes. Included are about 24 little boxes of"Sunset Soap Dye" and about 20 envelopes of the original DYO-LA dyes. In a side compartment are the original dealers color cards, samples and advertising emphemera. It's kind of dirty and dusty, just as it came from the store and in storage since. A good cleaning will make the whole thing better I'm sure. The display cabinet is in EXCELLENT condition and would be tough to find a better example. $30.00 SHIPPING IN A BOX. Antique Country Store Cigar Tobacco Humidor Display Case Cabinet Vintage ~1910
This is a wonderful piece of Americana! Large oak humidor from a country or general store with original manufacturer's brass tag. F.X. Ganter Co. of Baltimore, Md, and original metal moisture tray. This solid oak humidor is 42" wide by 26.5" deep, and stands 44" high. It features all the original oak cigar slats and it has"egg and dart" moulding under the top glass. The top piece of glass is new, but I have the original top piece which is scuffed and scratched from decades of coins, cigar boxes, and elbows sliding across it. This piece was made somewhere between 1910 and 1918. The bottom wood shelf appears to have been replaced some time back. The humidor is in good condition and a tribute to American craftsmanship! Some minor wood chipping, and paint discoloration on the inside of the drawers. On the third drawer down you will see chips in the outer lower corners. C.1890 Antique Glass & Tin Counter Table Top General Country Store Display Case
Very nice antique 1890-1900 era tin and glass with a cardboard base display case. The only distractions for this case are two scratches in the glass on the hinged lid. The rest of the glass and the metal are problem free. It has a loose black piece of felt on the inside. The cardboard base has some fading but is structurally sound. The bottom has it's original 4 feet. The hinge for the lid works just as it should. The case measures 3 7/8" tall. 10 7/8" wide and is 4 1/2" deep. I have listed $12.00 for shipping. Used. Not mint. Maker unknown. On top wood piece it appears there was once a maker's tag. But it is long gone. Measures about 45" x 34" x 22" Please be aware this thing is heavy! I have no clue how heavy, but take my word for it. Made of wood. I think the wood is oak, but I could be wrong. Age of making- unknown. Glass pieces in between drawers. Here is a wonderful rare to find Circa 1910 antique double sided and double door cabinet with advertising on two sides. One door is tin faced and reads“We Sell DY-O-LA THE IMPROVED HOME DYE” The other door reads“WE SELL DY-O-LA FOR COLORING AT HOME” Both doors have milk glass pulls. There is a label on the back of one of the doors which lists the colors that the dye came in. On the back of the other door only a partial label remains. One shelf remains in the interior. The cabinet appears to be cherry. The measurements are 12.5 in. wide x 17 in. high and 8 in. front to back. The condition is very good. At its widest dimensions this measures about 7-3/4” wide. 8-5/8” deep and stands 9” high. Originally a brick red with gold and black detailing. It has darkened considerably and as I'm not expert on the paint or proper cleaning to restore this, I leave that to anyone who may feel a need. The flash ... moreof my camera has lightened the color somewhat but you can see the detail of the designs. Gold floral tole painting runs down either side of the face while“Ginger” is in gold across the rounded facial center. Shaded with black and accented with design above and below. Pinstriping runs around the edges of the sloped face and the lid has a solid linear border with a delicate design along the inside of the border. From my research, the artwork suggests this dates around late 1800's/early 1900's. As you can see in the photos. There is a dent that runs diagonally across the lid and the left edge of the lid is bent under. Paint along the lower portion of the lid has worn away and it's a little rough. There is also dents to the lower portion of the rounded front face, the back left edge, and some indented dings to the back side. The sides of the back and front left are a bit bowed in from top to bottom. You can also see that there are some red paint spots on the top. Scratches and scuffs and paint loss in many areas of the surface. The lid is a bit warped due to the dent but still opens and closes fine and easily with its small wooden knob. I have up for sale a very nice vintage/ antique circa 1900 Countertop Curved Glass Display Showcase cabinet- measures approx 35-1/2" long. 24" deep, 14" tall. These are outside dimensions. The case is made of wood with what appears to be a nickel plated metal covering over the wood. The back door is hinged- appears to be original as far as I can tell. There is no manufacturers markings anywhere that I can see. I have seen this same nickel over wood type case before.One was made by the Kansas City Showcase Works and the other by Stein Showcases of Rochester, NY. The case comes from the estate of a 90+ year old Antique Dealer used in her Antique shop. It is in Very Good Condition- the glass is basically excellent with no damages- nice and clear. Overall the case is in what I would call very good shape- looks great as well. It ... moreappears as though the inside wood was refinished many years back- meaning the inner surface and inside back door. The bottom boards have some minor separation. I notice that the back door needs some attention. The right side does not snug up close as the left side does, so it may need some adjusting. Also the latch plunger is just a bit short of catching onto the upper part of the latch that holds it and keeps it shut. I have this shown in my last pic. This is an old piece and there is normal age and use wear and imperfections. Here for sale is an outstanding pair of antique oak country store/general store curved glass display cases. I have one on each side of the room. But they in their hay day the cases were likely sitting side by side along one wall of the store. Each one measures about 6 ft from each end to the curve. They easily disassemble. The glass comes off the top. An oak from which is held on by a few small screws comes off next. The glass sides are next and then you have the base. You won't find a nicer set, if you can find a set! They are over 100 years old and have been used, but they remain in very good condition. I hate to part with them, but have moved and no longer have room for them. TWO Antique J & P Coats Cotton Thread Spool Cabinets Oak Country Store Display's
Hello. My dogs don't go with the auction but they are available for stud service. LOL OK everyone knows what these are. How often do you see a pair of them though? AS FOUND. The condition of both are excellent and unmolested. Original finish to both, orig decals, glass, etc. All doors and tambors function perfectly and all are complete. These were pampered end tables for the last 50+ yrs, straight out of a residence, never been in an antique shop! Offered for free pickup near Cooperstown NY. I will quote for insured shipping on an individual basis at the buyers sole expense. Now the flaws: one small oak knob(pull) is missing. There is some candle wax(red) inside one cabinet top. Should clean easily but I have not done it so I am mentioning it. One top oak lid looks to be split from age it might have been glued at some point or possibly ... morenot. Hard to tell.It is not warped at all, in fact nothing is warped on any hinged openings. It is usable and not really noticable unless you really look. Easy repair for experienced woodworker, but sold as is so you be the judge! These are really exceptional pieces and you would be hard pressed to find another in as good cond. Much less two of them. Rare and unique antique wood 2 drawer needle case; top drawer label is: Jas. Smith& Sons. Bottom drawer: NEEDLES. It is about 7x12" and 5" tall. Jas. Smith& Sons is a famous umbrella store in the United Kingdom and at one time had a sewing supply sale room, so it probably used there. The case is covered with spongeware type material that I believe is paper. Condition is very good, has 1 small circle on the top that may have been a label. The label on the drawers show some wear and the bottom wood edge is a bit rough. Looks great for what is an interesting antique.The case does not have the interior dividers that look to have been in the drawers. Let me know if you need more pictures or information.

Up for auction is an early oak countertop display case circa 1890s. The case is oak and looks to have been refinished. The case features a divider unit inside that was possibly used to display knives. Pocket watches or jewelry. The divider can be removed. The divider felt covering is somewhat worn and shows it’s age. Based on other cases I've seen I believe it may be original. The back of the case features a large pull out drawer at the bottom for storage. The inside of the drawer has grooves cut to accept dividers which could easily be made. Access to the case is thru two sliding oak doors at the back. The doors have mirrors attached on the inside of the case. The doors slide free and fit well to the frame. One door may be a replacement. There is a brass tag on the front of the case that reads: Jos. Knittle Showcase Makers Co. Quincy, ... moreIL” The glass on the top of the case has some fine scratches and looks like original wavy glass. There are no cracks in the glass or the wood. The wood does not have any areas of visible repair or rot. There are mounting holes in the case frame where the case might have been secured to a counter or a table. Antique Country Store Ribbon Display Holder from Woita Store Weston Nebraska
Antique oak wood ribbon display holder out of the Frank E. Woita general store in Weston Nebraska which closed about 60 years ago. Looks like the name is Analastik on the holder. The top pegs held 1/4" wide ribbon. Lace, or maybe elastic material, middle pegs held 3/8" and bottom held 1/2" wide. It has a circle with the faded price written in pencil on one side of it. Looks like 1/4 was 5¢ a yard, 3/8 was 8¢ and 1/2" was 10¢. Same markings on both sides of holder but 1 side doesn't tell the price. Its about 13 1/4" tall. The 1 top peg looks like it may have been replaced at one time. It needs a little cleaning and oiling but will let you do that as I don't like messing with original patina.

The bottom board is not original, however it works well with the rest of the old case. It has thick and heavy beveled glass panels that are perfect, no chips or cracks. The wood frame has dings, nicks, scratches and finish wear. None of these flaws are very major and with a real good cleaning, it will look great.
