antique VT country store DYO-LA Dye CABINET Dual tin lithos AS FOUND w/contents
Here's a very rare find being an honest AS FOUND country store DYE display cabinet. Complete with it's 1920's vintage new old stock contents. It's just as it came out of the store here in Northern Vermont. This DYO-LA Dye was made in Burlington VT and came from the Scampy Dane Store in West Charleston Vermont where was on display there, or in storage there, for many decades until the store closed in the mid-1990's. The cabinet is made of solid hardwood and is cherry color and could be cherry wood. The ORIGINAL varnish finish shows some loss on the door stiles and sides but is definitely the original one. It measures about 11" by 16" and is 7.5" deep. This is a rare model having the tin lithograph panels on both the front and back of the cabinet. It sat on the store counter with the door towards the clerk ... moreand the customer could still see the panel on the front. The front panel in in better condition than the back panel. It shows a couple rust spots and limited paint loss. The front panel is about perfect. Both have bright vibrant colors. Inside the door is a big"SPECIAL NOTICE TO DEALER" card. The store this cabinet came from was a genuine time capsule that ran continuously with various owners from the 1890's until the death of Scampy Dane in the mid 1990's. This cabinet was part of that time capsule and it retains is full contents of various dyes. Included are about 24 little boxes of"Sunset Soap Dye" and about 20 envelopes of the original DYO-LA dyes. In a side compartment are the original dealers color cards, samples and advertising emphemera. It's kind of dirty and dusty, just as it came from the store and in storage since. A good cleaning will make the whole thing better I'm sure. The display cabinet is in EXCELLENT condition and would be tough to find a better example. $30.00 SHIPPING IN A BOX. The 2 sides each have 2 panels of glass. So there is glass all around! The case measures 38 inches tall. 29 inches wide and 11 inches deep. The old finish is original. The knobs are all original. Total length of cabinets total 23 feet. One top section has three doors and sits on two base pieces. The other top section has two doors and sits on one base piece. All doors are sliding doors and have beveled glass. There are 39 dovetailed drawers with fancy brass hardware. There are also adjustable shelves in the base with doors. The top sections have wood shelves and are adjustable. Height of these display showcases is 8 feet 9inches high. This would be a real show piece for an antique store or collectables shop. Antique English Store Display Drawers Cabinet Liberty Bodice Decals Shell Pulls
This small antique chest of drawers is actually a store display cabinet that contained liberty bodices for girls and women of all ages. Brits of a certain age may remember these. As-according to Wikipedia-they were still being worn into the 1970s, although they were introduced at the end of the 19th century. When I purchased it. It had last been owned by a Dutch doll collector, who used it to store doll clothing and trimmings, and some of the drawers still have their stick-on paper labels written in Dutch. They're easily removable but I chose to leave on the ones that didn't fall off when I gave this a light cleaning. This would be a perfect doll bureau for your antique bisque doll, or just a fun little cabinet in which to store odds and ends. Because it was built as a store countertop display/storage piece, the bottom is perfectly ... moreflat. The chest of drawers measures approximately 21&1/4" tall. 20&3/4" wide, and 11" deep. All the drawers open and shut easily and the piece is in good sturdy condition. It appears to be in all-original condition except for the back, which looks to be a somewhat newer plywood replacement. There is expected scratching and wear, and a few chips in the wood and many scratches and tiny dings to the surface. Please use the zoom feature to see the condition in greater detail. Please note that the color is a dark mahogany color-I lightened a few of the pics in order to show the scratches and wear better. The decals are all in good shape as shown, with only minimal signs of wear. This weighs 22&1/2 pounds. Three of the original tab drawer pulls are still intact; one is missing. On the bottom drawer, the lettering is a little smudged. Your looking at a very rare antique general store counter display. It's a cabinet drawer for Tico Forms. Tico made large letter stamps. Has great logos and design that is on the drawer and rear of cabinet. Great joints on cabinet. The separators in the drawer are also wood. 24" x 20 1/2" x 6 1/2" There is a crack across the top and part of the bottom. Cabinet is still sturdy and strong. Could easily be repaired. Antique Country Store Cigar Tobacco Humidor Display Case Cabinet Vintage ~1910
This is a wonderful piece of Americana! Large oak humidor from a country or general store with original manufacturer's brass tag. F.X. Ganter Co. of Baltimore, Md, and original metal moisture tray. This solid oak humidor is 42" wide by 26.5" deep, and stands 44" high. It features all the original oak cigar slats and it has"egg and dart" moulding under the top glass. The top piece of glass is new, but I have the original top piece which is scuffed and scratched from decades of coins, cigar boxes, and elbows sliding across it. This piece was made somewhere between 1910 and 1918. The bottom wood shelf appears to have been replaced some time back. The humidor is in good condition and a tribute to American craftsmanship! Some minor wood chipping, and paint discoloration on the inside of the drawers. On the third drawer down you will see chips in the outer lower corners. You are viewing a beautiful Wm. Clark spool cabinet made of solid oak measuring 20" wide x 19" long x 7" high. I bought this wonderful cabinet 42 years ago in Ann Arbor Michigan and was told it came from a General Store in Ohio. It is clean and all original and has only been used for display in my home. It makes a great counter top display and is very sturdy and useful for any collection you may have. All 4 knobs are solid brass and original to the cabinet and both drawers are dovetailed. There is no replaced wood. No stains to the finish or significant damages to report. All sides and the bottom are original and in extremely good shape. Antique Arts& Crafts Era Wood Wall Mount Store Display Cabinet Thread Display I had an opportunity to go down state Illinois recently for the homecoming of my Alma Mater and shopped the wonderful sales. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! This one is very very cool. It's a farm auction find that no one could identify for me. But the general consensus(and I agree) is that it was more than likely a store thread spool display piece. Made of solid wood, it has a tiger oak decorative veneer that shows some wear and egdge shipping. If you like rustic, the cabinet is for you- if you are looking for a project, it would be a beauty to restore also. The cabinet measures 25 1/2" wide at the top, 22" ... morewide at the body, has 6 shelves that are 18 1/2" by 2 1/2" deep, stands 23 1.2" tall, 5 1/2" deep at the top and 3 1/2" deep at the body. It weighs 14 3/4 lbs. The shelves are rounded to hold rounded items(like spools) and you can see that there's 7, a little over) 2" wide spaces on each shelf- you can see the wood is a little lighter between each one- they are not physically separated, the shelf is rounded and smooth all the way across. There are numbers, 1-6 stenciled in what looks like gold with a black rim, starting 1 at the back of the bottom shelf and going up to 6 at the back of the top shelf- I have no idea what they represented, and there's no other markings or identification on the piece. The cabinet is unfinised at the top- making it appear as if it attached to something from above, or possibly was built in? The bottom is finished, but you can also see the heads of the hardware attaching the sides, so I do believe it was not meant for display- the cabinet does stand well on its own as the bottom is flat. Antique 1920's wood and glass sterilizer display case with original tin adjustable shelves. My guess is that this was repainted probably back in the 1950's. The finish is a dry off-white. There is a chip on the front edge of the base that was never repaired when it was repainted. A lot of people replace the tin shelves with glass. You could just use the tin shelves as a template. The shelves can adjust to several different heights. This case has nice beveled edges with glass on three sides for good display. There are very nice wide door hinges. This very solid display case weighs in at 10 lbs. It measures 12 1/4" tall 14" wide and 9 1/2" deep. The actual interior display height is 10 7/8" high. 11 1/4" wide and 7" deep. Antique primitive 7/8" thick wooden cabinet(I am not sure exactly what this is) May be a store display. Podium stand topper, cash drawer, but it is unque. It is approx. 20" x 12" x 13-3/4" high, and the caninet is made of what I believe is oak it is very heavy and has been stained dark. Antique Oak Merricks Spool Cabinet Store Cabinet
This is a round cylinder style oak Merrick’s spool cabinet that still has it’s original glass fronts and original finish. The glass advertises. Merrick’s Six Cord Soft Finish Spool Cotton. The cabinet stands 20″ high and the knob in the center is 2 1/4″ higher. The diameter is 18“ This cabinet is in great condition, with normal wear, except it is missing the bottom round that cabinet sits on. The previous owner used it as a side table and never even realized there was a piece missing. It was a family piece and thats how it came to her. Vintage Antique General Store Display Case/Cabinet Mid 1800's Lionel Ameri Flyer
For your consideration. Here is a vintage antique General Store display cabinet from around the mid 1800's. This is a very nice, very original, very unique cabinet! It measures 53 1/2" wide, 13 1/2" tall, and 22 1/2" deep. The display area's on the left& right sides are fully enclosed and the actual display area is 18" by 21" 11" tall. The middle display area, which sits over the"cash register" drawer is 6" tall, 12 3/4" wide, by 21 1/2" deep. This cabinet is made from solid oak. Although I believe the bottom is hard maple or something similar. This is no big deal, it most likely helped save the cabinet, but at some point someone fastened a large piece of wood on the bottom, I have never had that off, no reason to remove it because it doesn't affect the looks. I am sure ... morethey put that there to make the cabinet a bit more solid. I am sure that can be easily removed if you so chose. The cabinet still has the original bottom boards. For displaying items nicer, I simply cut 1/4" foam boards and put a maroon felt covering on them. They can be removed in about 5 seconds if you prefer the original wood showing. The most unique thing about this cabinet is the cash drawer in the middle that you access from the back. It has a finger lock combination and if you are not familiar with how those work I can tell you it's very unique. There is no doubt in my mind this display cabinet would have been the center of the store it sat in. This is most likely where the store's proprietor had his most important or most expensive wares. The cabinet still has it's original hardware. I like to keep my things nice. And I recently cleaned this up over the winter. I didn't snap enough photo's of it though. Honestly, when cleaning it up, I wasn't even thinking of offering it here. I didn't refinish it, just cleaned it up and cleaned the glass. This is a very cool old General store display cabinet that I purchased from an old couple who got it from their local general store when it closed down many years ago. I had every intention of refinishing it but my health wont let me do that. So here she is up for auctio n. As you can see it is a Wilmarth cabinet which is very rare.It does have white paint on the one side and needs new back doors. It does need to be redone but would make a great piece when finished. This is a pick up only item and it is located in Clinton Pa about 15 minutes from the Pittsburgh International Airport. The Wilmarth tag reads Feb 10 1914. I will deliver for a fee. Here is a wonderful rare to find Circa 1910 antique double sided and double door cabinet with advertising on two sides. One door is tin faced and reads“We Sell DY-O-LA THE IMPROVED HOME DYE” The other door reads“WE SELL DY-O-LA FOR COLORING AT HOME” Both doors have milk glass pulls. There is a label on the back of one of the doors which lists the colors that the dye came in. On the back of the other door only a partial label remains. One shelf remains in the interior. Antique 5-Drawer Tool Cabinet plus 5 deep cubby holes across the top Overall good condition with normal signs of age and use. There was a front panel door covering the drawers at one point which is now gone. The top has been refinished to cover old stains which are still somewhat visible. There is general wear to the wood. But everything other than the top has the original surface patina. The knobs are some kind of early plastic and while all are intact. Some have a little damage. This cabinet came out of my uncle's estate in South Texas. That's all I can tell you about it! The lower right front corner has a bit of separation at the miter but cabinet is still tight and solid. Two of the Brass pulls have a little damage, one is slightly pushed in and the other is a little tweaked. Could use a good cleaning! There are no decals on the drawers. Antique Curved Glass 36" Countertop Country Store Display Case Showcase cabinet
I have up for sale a very nice vintage/ antique circa 1900 Countertop Curved Glass Display Showcase cabinet- measures approx 35-1/2" long. 24" deep, 14" tall. These are outside dimensions. The case is made of wood with what appears to be a nickel plated metal covering over the wood. The back door is hinged- appears to be original as far as I can tell. There is no manufacturers markings anywhere that I can see. I have seen this same nickel over wood type case before.One was made by the Kansas City Showcase Works and the other by Stein Showcases of Rochester, NY. The case comes from the estate of a 90+ year old Antique Dealer used in her Antique shop. It is in Very Good Condition- the glass is basically excellent with no damages- nice and clear. Overall the case is in what I would call very good shape- looks great as well. It ... moreappears as though the inside wood was refinished many years back- meaning the inner surface and inside back door. The bottom boards have some minor separation. I notice that the back door needs some attention. The right side does not snug up close as the left side does, so it may need some adjusting. Also the latch plunger is just a bit short of catching onto the upper part of the latch that holds it and keeps it shut. I have this shown in my last pic. This is an old piece and there is normal age and use wear and imperfections. This is a 4-sided advertising spool cabinet with an unusual design having rollup tambour panels on both sides. The top has 4 access doors to load spools of thread. Two sides are visible to few the thread. There is one rounded door on the bottom missing on one side. Otherwise. Beautiful. Antique, as-is retail display cabinet. We believe that the frame is made out of mahogany. The front is slanted glass and one side is glass. The other side is plywood. We have replaced and stained the back with oak to make two sliding doors. There are adjustable shelf brackets, but not shelves. THE GLASS TOP IS MISSING AS WELL. This has been cleaned up, but there is some minor wear. There is a piece of wood missing in one of the corners. The base measures approx. 22 by 36. The top is approx. 12 1/2 by 36. The height is approx. 44 inches tall. The style seems to be from the 1940's. It is a nice piece! This is for pick up in Aurora. IL.

The label on the drawers show some wear and the bottom wood edge is a bit rough. This old cabinet is a wonderful collectible that is usable still today. Inside the wood case there is a removable black velvet piece. To open the glass lid you have to push a little round metal knob sticking out of the left side. It measures 15" tall and 10 1/2" wide. The case portion measures 13" x 9 1/4" and is about 1 1/2" deep. This piece is in very good. Sturdy condition but does have some normal wear. There are some scratches and nicks on the wood, a few spots, a crack on the back, there are two tiny nicks and a thin, short scratch on the mirror, there are a couple scuff marks on the velvet piece and a little bigger than ... morepea size residue spot on the edge of the velvet piece. Ok. This has to be the hardest thing I ever photographed. Simply fabulous and rare. Dates from the turn of the century to 1920. All the gold lettering is not just painted on the inside of the cabinet but the lettering is etched into the glass. There is no damage. The metal frame is all intact, yes dented and tarnished but this is expected wear. I don't think it had a back door I see no hinges but there is a toggle at the bottom in the back by the velvet pad. It has 3 removable glass shelves. It measures 18 inches tall. 14 1/2 wide and 8 inches deep. I don't think you'll find another one.
