THIS IS AN AMAZING PIECE OF ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY! IT WOULD BE WONDERFUL FOR A STORE. I HAD IT IN MY ANTIQUE/COSTUME SHOP FOR 36+ YEARS. THIS IS 75 3/8" LONG TOTAL AND 74" TALL[AT THE TALL FINIAL IT IS 76" TALL] THE SWINGING DOOR IS 22 3/8" HIGH BY 24 3/4" WIDE. I HAD THE HARDWARE REPLACED YEARS AGO WHEN IT WAS JUST A LITTLE TOO DROOPY. SO THE SWINGING HINGES ARE NOT THE ORIGINALS, BUT OTHER THAN THAT, IT IS ALL ORIGINAL INCLUDING THE FINISH. Antique Oak Spool/Thread Cabinet Goff's Best Braid 3 Drawer Case/Chest
Size is 17" wide by 18" deep at the base. 17 5/8" wide by 18 1/8" deep at the top. 11" tall. It is missing 1 small decorative block on the front left side top and a narrow 3/16" wide strip at the right rear edge. That strip would be an easy to find replacement as they used the same strips to hold in backs of mirrors and glass in doors of cabinets. I don't know if the dropped drawer pulls are original or not but were on it when I bought the cabinet out of an estate 20 years ago. Drawers are sound and solid and finger jointed all around. The lettering on the front drawers is on tin. Finish,lettering and advertising on the rear look all original to me. It is solid oak-not veneer. Not perfect but a nice chest. Antique Spool Cabinet CASH'S WOVEN DOUBLE LETTER English Oak Display Case
Up for auction is an antique spool cabinet display case made of English Oak with miscellaneous woven double embroidered lettering boxes inside. The front of this case reads CASH'S WOVEN DOUBLE LETTERS and measures 18" tall. 17 1/2" long, 5" deep and weighs 15 lbs. I believe this was used at Cash's Of Ireland Department Store. The case itself shows definate wear due to age. The front lower right side of the glass is cracked and the case has a few chips as can be seen in the pictures. The back of this case has an original picture of two woman and a child. The back has a top latch that opens to dispense the boxes that enclose the embroidered letters. The front of each yellow colored box reads Cash's Hemstitch Frillings for trimming Ladies& Children's Underclothing, also for Pillow Case's, Sheets.etc. Each ... moreone of these boxes measures 3" long and 1" wide. This is a great old Oak Spool Cabinet Countertop desk with a leather top. It is 28 X 20.25 inches X 12 inches tall. The wood is in beautiful condition. The metal inkwell is intact but there is no insert. Words on the drawers were removed but the outlines are still visible. It looks like the original knobs were replaced with old porcelain ones. Very nice old desk. Antique Dark Oak Counter Display Case
This is a very nice oak counter display case with glass on all three sides with a wood bottom. The wood is in great shape for its age. Dimensions: 36" long by 25" wide by 16.5" tall- lots of room! It has two sliding glass and wooden framed doors with brass inserts for pulls. Doors move back and forth easily. Slick as butter. The top glass was severely scratched so it has been replaced(professionally) with tempered glass. I am selling the case for $650- OBO. Free pick up at a location near Chapel Hill, NC, or I will be happy to ship to you via UPS. The base of the case on the front and sides is indented. Allowing your customers to get a close-up view of your display. The front. Side, and rear glass has the slight wavy look consistent with antique glass. The glass on top is quarter inch. Beveled glass. The two original shelves are each one solid board all the way across and contain a raised lip around the border. ... moreThey each sit on four original brackets spaced 29-30 inches apart and are capable of holding significant weight. As this display case is an antique over 100 years old. It has some minor issues, albeit only cosmetic ones that don't affect functionality or durability. As stated. One side glass panel is not original to the piece. Also. There must have originally been a third door on the back of the case; now there are two with the same width of space for access. Both doors move very easily back and forth. The glass on one back door has a small crack in it near the indented finger slot. But remains intact. One top beveled glass panel has a chip on one back corner and the other back corner of the same piece of glass was reconstructed. The other top beveled glass has two cup rings and a small area in the back section of cloudiness that appears to have been caused by a spill. It was really difficult to capture the cloudiness in an image. But if you look to the left, you can see it. Unfortunately. You can see reflections in the glass better than you can see the cloudiness. This a very large substantial produce or product display for an antique store. General store, flower store or farmers market! It has a varsity of options in regards to configuration. Measures; 42" sq with all four leaves down. 66" sq with all four leaves up. Each of the 3 removable shelves are 11" deep and 40" long and about 3/4" thick. Stands about 29" tall to the top of the table and 47" tall with the top flipped up. The base lifts up and down with the aid of a metal bar that slips in to the frame. I believe it is oak. Antique spool thread advertising display solid oak/mirror MERRICKS SPOOL COTTON
This is an antique spool thread advertising display with a mirror. Across top of frame: MERRICK'S SPOOL COTTON; and remnants of an eagle in the center. It measures 35 1/2" long x 25" high x 4 1/2" deep. The mirror is 29 1/2" x 6 1/2" and has some scratches and some black spots. It is backed by wood. I don't know how this piece originally worked. I think it hung as an independent piece. But maybe was part of something larger or a base piece that this hung over. There are slots on the inside of the frame work(see photo) maybe had sliding wires with spools on them, one wooden rod was there when I got it from my family's estate, and I added one so I could use it as a towel holder. Here is a wonderful old Oak Store Display Case for ribbon! No Reserve on this item! The front and back have 6 drop down glass doors each. For a total of 12 doors in all. The 2 sides each have 2 panels of glass. So there is glass all around! The case measures 38 inches tall. 29 inches wide and 11 inches deep. The old finish is original. The knobs are all original. As I mentioned. One of the little"stops" is missing for one of the doors. It is still working ok with one stop. The case is dusty inside. I wiped it off somewhat on the outside. Incredible Victorian Carved Pediment Top Oak Walk In Cooler( circa 1910) This estate item was once used in one of the early day Mill Stores in Upstate SC. It was purchased in the 1930's to be used in one of the country grocery stores nearby and is still sitting inside waiting for it's next act! The old wood sided grocery store has been closed since the 1980's. The memories of the coldest ice cream in town abound about this cooler! It looks to be all complete with all glass and hardware inside and out. The wood is worn where people would have touched it over the years around door latches and such. All wood looks to be in good strong condition with no apparent rot. All interior slatted rack shelves as well as many meat hooks included! Incredible antique oak and glass display case with light blue velvet and custom stand. The 2 sliding mirrored glass doors in the back have a really cool distressed patina. the showcase was made by the Houston showcase mfg corp and it is stamped on the underside. the glass has a wavy effect to it. Well built old unit- I'm guessing from the 1950's or 60's. The framing is oak and the panels are birch looking plywood veneer- the shelves are pine. The 8 1/2" x 44" glass front panels are missing- other side and top panels are included and are removable- 1/4" thickness. Has track for sliding doors- doors not available. Has a thin coat of black paint. Stands 42" tall- long part of"L" is 8' short part is 4' 20" wide- shelves are 16" wide. The kick plate on the long end is split and needs re-attached. Vintage Antique Oak Display Cabinet Case Mirrored Industrial Retail Counter 1920
You're looking at an antique oak counter display case in excellent vintage condition. Ca. approx 1920s. The oak is clean and free of scratches or chips and the glass is firmly in place(I believe all pieces are original) There is a brass plate at the front detailing the manufacturer and corresponding marking on the rear of one of the two sliding mirrored doors. The doors glide easily and the mirrors are beautifully aged. It was difficult to photograph this aged mirror(pic#8) but it really adds a lot of charm to this item. Currently the inside possesses its original canvas lining(pic#9) but this could easily have felt or leather layered over it to finish it off. Antique SEALPACKERCHIEF Mens Handkerchief Oak Wood Glass Countertop Display Case For your consideration we have one of the best examples of an antique SEALPACKERCHIEF display case with original labels ever available. The Sealpackerchief Company was founded in 1908 and offered clothiers and haberdasheries the use of the display case as long as it was used solely to display and sell their sealed packages of handkerchiefs. The front cream. Red and gold decal shows the New York(N.Y. Trademark and shows, Patented July 27, 1909, March 10 1914 and Dec 17, 1918. The inside red and gold decal reads, This case is loaned with the understanding that it be used only for the display of Sealpackerchief" as well as"The International Handkerchief Manufacturing Company of New York" as well as, Trade Mark Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. The two sides. Door ... moreand bottom are solid 5/8" oak, the top and front are glass have no sharp edges. The back is also made of solid oak held in place by three small brass hinges that have heavy patina on them. The bottom of the back door has a half ball shape of brass that sits in a brass holder in the bottom to keep the back door secure if the door would be closed all the way. The top of the sides each have a hole approximately 1-1/2" from the back where the display had a dowle rod display to hold their sample handkerchiefs. This piece is hardly ever found intact with these cases anymore since they are so fragile. If you care to reproduce one. Please see the enclosed picture have attached with the listing for a visual reference. The display rack that would have attached to this case is not included. Please feel free to copy this old advertisement piece for your collection. Condition: The Interior Decal: Is almost perfect. 99+% intact with only minor surface dirt on it and some silver peeking out in two spots that I can see where the gold foil has come off. This beautiful display case came from Warden's Grocery(ca 1930's) in Bertram and has been lovingly cared for by the daughter ever since. It is in excellent condition. As you can see in the photos. The measurements are 48" wide, 47" high, and the depth ranges from 17 to 25 inches. The back glass rolls easily to open the case. It even has one of the original candy stickers still on it. Gorgeous Vintage Antique Oak and Class 9' 9" Long Display Case
This display case is 9' 9" in length and approximately 41 1/2' tall and would be a great addition to anyone's store. Shop, or even their home. There are 5 doors on the back that slide up and down for easy access to the items that were on display. The front legs on the case are nicely curved. On one of the end doors the finger pull is missing.Shown in one of the photos) This item has been stored for several years and will need cleaned. You are viewing a beautiful Wm. Clark spool cabinet made of solid oak measuring 20" wide x 19" long x 7" high. I bought this wonderful cabinet 42 years ago in Ann Arbor Michigan and was told it came from a General Store in Ohio. It is clean and all original and has only been used for display in my home. It makes a great counter top display and is very sturdy and useful for any collection you may have. All 4 knobs are solid brass and original to the cabinet and both drawers are dovetailed. There is no replaced wood. No stains to the finish or significant damages to report. All sides and the bottom are original and in extremely good shape. All the glass on the doors and sides are original and seeded. The glass shelf mid-way has been replaced. At auction is a antique store store counter made by Sherer Gillett Co. Chicago. USA. It is made of oak and has 15 drawers. Nine drawers are 23"long by 12" wide and 7" deep. Thats the inside measurments. Then theres 3 that are 23" by 14.5" wide by 13" deep.The last 3 are 23" by 14.5" by 9" deep. The counter top length is 97.5" long, and 28 and 1/4" wide by 33.5" high. It has normal wear and marks as the pictures show. But over all its very solid with a rich untouched patina. My age estimate is late 1800s to early 1900s. Again this is un refinished like other examples you might see, good honest wear. I and 3 other friends brought this home to my mother 40 years ago. Its been in our familys home since. You will see the picture of the drawer handles. The knobs you see top and bottom were there to hold the manilla paper. Written on the paper would be what was in side each drawer. The customer would open the drawer and retrive his or her purchases.The rack on the end was with it when I bought it. I believe it would have had the brown paper for wrapping up customer purchases. It either had two sizes of paper, or the top had a roll of string for wrapping. As you see its also worked good for paper towles. This is a round cylinder style oak Merrick’s spool cabinet that still has it’s original glass fronts and original finish. The glass advertises. Merrick’s Six Cord Soft Finish Spool Cotton. The cabinet stands 20″ high and the knob in the center is 2 1/4″ higher. The diameter is 18“ This cabinet is in great condition, with normal wear, except it is missing the bottom round that cabinet sits on. The previous owner used it as a side table and never even realized there was a piece missing. It was a family piece and thats how it came to her. It features 30 drawers that to the best of our knowledge were used to display gloves. The piece has its imperfections brought on by age and use, including a cracked granite panel in the bottom front, some chipping around the edges of the glass panels, and a veneer of shallow scratches on the surface of the top. Absolutely one of the most beautiful showcases I’ve seen. And the only one of this type and size I’ve ever seen. It’s not perfect but for its age in my opinion it’s in outstanding condition(see photos) The showcase was made by Specialty Case Co of Kendallville. Ind. I’m guessing sometime in the 1920s. ANTIQUE GRAND RAPIDS CLOTHING OAK SHOWCASE WITH ORIGINAL WAVY GLASS
This fabulous antique showcase was patented in 1905 by the Grand Rapids Showcase company. It is seriously constructed of oak and has the original wavy glass. The one pictured was part of a series of twelve matching cabinets that were connected side by side next to each other. Hence the sides are open since they are butted up to the side of the one next to it. The one in the first several pictures has the side panels. The rest are as the on in the last four pictures with no sides. Nice vintage oak paneling or glass can be added to the sides if you would like to use one as an individual unit. The glass door of each opens out and slides into the cabinet on the right hand side. Much like a folding door. The back of each cabinet is bead board with the original finish. There are two clothing racks in each of these cabinets. One at the top and one ... morehalf way up. Each of the racks is solid cast bronze with nickel plate. The rack slides out so you can see the blouses. Jackets or other items more readily. The cabinets need some restoration such as tightening up the joints and refinishing the wood. MUSEUM WORTHY Antique Oak Store Display Thread J.P. COATS SPOOL COTTON Roll-Top Sides 1864-5 This is an incredible store display dating to the Civil War era for J. P. Coats. My research indicates that displays were provided by the company free with the purchase of the spools. It is entirely made of oak and glass. With brass hinges on the doors and flaps, a huge, probably iron, screw on the bottom, and small metal nails. The view from the bottom shows dovetail fittings. It measures 22.5” tall, and is 16.25” by 21” at the base(including the decorative molding) Two opposite sides have“roll-top” type doors with wood knobs. They slide up and down smoothly. Both of these sides have decorative scrolls/ feathers impressed(carved? on each vertical edge(close up, photo 8) Both also have a large, gold-pained panel that has“J. P. Coats’ Spool Cotton. ... moreprinted in black, fancy letters. Below the roll-top door on one side is another gold-painted panel that reads“Black Nos. 8 to 60” in black letters. The other side has“White Nos. 8 to 60” in black letters on gold. The side for the white thread also has“Patent Applied For” printed across the top. Inside the roll-top doors are slanted displays for spools(see in photos 2 and 7) These are filled via two hinged flaps or doors on the top, shown in photos 5 and 6. You can see that the spool sizes have numbered slots on the top that correspond to the numbered bins on the sides. The other two sides have long wood dividers, each with a glass pane to cover the visible spools. Each of these sides has a gold-painted panel under the glass displays. On one side, J. P. Coats’ Spool Cotton No. 40” is printed in black letters; on the other side is“J. P. Coats’ Spool Cotton No. 50. One would display the ribbon on the adjustable metal dividers of the vertical columns. A very unique feature is that there is hidden storage in the center of this turning cylinder. You can access this hidden storage on all sides of the cylinder. What a wonderful thought of where to store ones surplus ribbon and supplies. This cabinet is all complete we are just needing a folding yardstick which would have pulled out from the base of this cabinet. This is the only cabinet of this style that we have ever been able to find in all our years of antiquing. This is a 4-sided advertising spool cabinet with an unusual design having rollup tambour panels on both sides. The top has 4 access doors to load spools of thread. Two sides are visible to few the thread. There is one rounded door on the bottom missing on one side. Otherwise. Up for auction is an antique oak display case. Has a wavy glass lid that does not seem to match the bottom. The wood looks darker on the lid than the base. And it does not match up evenly(see last two photos) Most likely the old lid broke and this one was an old replacement. The base measures 12.5" by 15.5" The lid measures 10.75" by 14" The case is 3" deep. There are some blemishes to the wood along the edges, this includes some scratches and chips, nothing major. The glass is wavy with no cracks or chips but does have some surface scratches as well. Right now the glass needs one more nail to keep it even but I will leave that up to the new owner.
