VINTAGE ANTIQUE STORE GENERAL STORE COUNTRY OAK PRODUCE DISPLAY FARMERS MARKET
This a very large substantial produce or product display for an antique store. General store, flower store or farmers market! It has a varsity of options in regards to configuration. Measures; 42" sq with all four leaves down. 66" sq with all four leaves up. Each of the 3 removable shelves are 11" deep and 40" long and about 3/4" thick. Stands about 29" tall to the top of the table and 47" tall with the top flipped up. The base lifts up and down with the aid of a metal bar that slips in to the frame. I believe it is oak. The legs certainly are and I'm pretty sure the slats and frame are too. There is some rust on the metal. A large amount of varnish has come off or is flaking off. This is one of my many original old store display cases that I will be posting on eBay so keep watching. This auction is for the display in the photos it is in very nice condition on its original casters so it moves around very easy it is made of oak with its original finish and glass with no damage other than normal user ware it is from the late 1800s to the 1910 time period it measures 72" long x 26 1/2" deep x 42" tall nice easy back door to open. A very nice quarter sawn oak countertop display case for Newport Garter. Not sure if this piece has been refinished or not. The felt on the inside is newer. But they in their hay day the cases were likely sitting side by side along one wall of the store. Each one measures about 6 ft from each end to the curve. They easily disassemble. The glass comes off the top. An oak from which is held on by a few small screws comes off next. The glass sides are next and then you have the base. You won't find a nicer set, if you can find a set! Hello. My dogs don't go with the auction but they are available for stud service. LOL OK everyone knows what these are. How often do you see a pair of them though? AS FOUND. The condition of both are excellent and unmolested. Original finish to both, orig decals, glass, etc. All doors and tambors function perfectly and all are complete. These were pampered end tables for the last 50+ yrs, straight out of a residence, never been in an antique shop! Offered for free pickup near Cooperstown NY. I will quote for insured shipping on an individual basis at the buyers sole expense. Now the flaws: one small oak knob(pull) is missing. There is some candle wax(red) inside one cabinet top. Should clean easily but I have not done it so I am mentioning it. One top oak lid looks to be split from age it might have been glued at some point or possibly ... morenot. Hard to tell.It is not warped at all, in fact nothing is warped on any hinged openings. It is usable and not really noticable unless you really look. Up for auction is an early oak countertop display case circa 1890s. The case is oak and looks to have been refinished. The case features a divider unit inside that was possibly used to display knives. Pocket watches or jewelry. The divider can be removed. The divider felt covering is somewhat worn and shows it’s age. Based on other cases I've seen I believe it may be original. The back of the case features a large pull out drawer at the bottom for storage. The inside of the drawer has grooves cut to accept dividers which could easily be made. Access to the case is thru two sliding oak doors at the back. The doors have mirrors attached on the inside of the case. The doors slide free and fit well to the frame. One door may be a replacement. It appears to have the original sand pitted glass and the brass"THE SUN MFG CO" plaque is intact. The inside has been painted white to enhance& showcase the contents. it could be stripped if you don't like it white" To open the case you can enter through the back little doors. The top is removable also for larger items. I do have a company that is willing to pick it up& deliver it and of course, pick up is always an option. Super Primitive Antique Oak Country Store Countertop Display Case Wavy Glass
Thanks for taking the time to view our posting. We are proud to offer for your consideration this terrific primitive antique. Small country store countertop display case. Hardwood case with beautiful details. Thick one board top and bottom. Beveled corner supports and terrific old fluted and scalloped molding around underside of top and around base.very pretty feature. I believe the back of the piece is made of pine with believed edges. Hinged door in center and original, hand carved rotating knobs that hold the door closed. Original iron hinges. Well constructed using very small old nails. All of which show perfect age appropriate oxidation. The frame of the piece is in its original wood finish.no refinishing here.and the back is painted in old red paint. I don't think the red paint is original but it is still old. The interior bottom ... moreand back have been painted white or off-white. This could pretty easily be removed if you wish or painted a different color. From the front. The piece is missing the glass on the right hand side but again, this can be easily replaced. Front and left side appear to be original. Both have tiny bubbles in glass and the side piece is quite wavy. Ca. 1900's- 1920's. Very possibly earlier. Super primitive condition with age appropriate wear as described above. Wear and losses to paint. Mainly on the sides of frame. The piece is quite sturdy and it is very structurally sound. Measures 21.75" high. 11" deep and 25.25" wide. This wonderful country store advertising display cabinet appears to be in 100% original as-found condition. The piece is un-restored& un-refinished with oak cleaned and pledge waxed; glass and mirror cleaned only. This remarkable cabinet features its original imperfect and wavy glass and mirror; 3 glass shelves; its original rear cabinet mirror; ornate carved and pressed oak wood trim construction; a hinged rear door with original spring clasp; and of course the world renowned advertising logo. Press Oak, scalloped topper advertising plaque/top. As noted above. The piece is all original condition with some cloudiness in ... morethe rear mirror and an upper replacement slightly sicker shelf that also appears to be old. In addition please note that there is a very old repair to the upper molding as some time in this cabinets life there must have been a small dent or ding in its upper crown molding, just below the advertising topper. See photos) the repair consists of what appears to be a wood filler type product applied generously to the spot. It appears that the excess could be easily sanded away with a small portion of Oak around the dent being re-stained or oiled. I chose not to do this small repair as I wanted to keep its original integrity intact. As far as the structural condition of the Show Case. All glued joints appeared to be intact and tight, hardware appears to be all original and in good condition and there are no cracks or breaks anywhere in the glass and only a hairline crack in the wood over the upper hinge on the door side. This is a wonderful. All original 19 th century country store advertising antique/collectible that would be an outstanding addition to anyone’s collection as it would display either collectible advertising pieces or any small item for display. This was produced by Clarks O.N.T. around the turn of the century and appears to be made from oak. The cabinet has two big drawers and it also has dividers in it that could have been added later and may not have been a part of it originally. This cabinet has incredibly cool decorative knobs and I'm not real sure what they are made of. They are heavy and could be porcelain or glass. Please check the pictures.
