Antique Brass Ornate Victorian Tinted Beveled Glass Jewelry Display Casket~NICE
I have for bid an Antique Victorian Brass& Tinted Amber Beveled Glass Jewelry Display Casket. It measures 9 1/2" side to side. 6 1/2" front to back and 4 7/8" tall. It has beautiful Ornate Floral Brass Filigree with Large Tulip Flowers on each end. There are 5 Tinted Amber Beveled Glass Panels, the pictures make the tint look dark Amber because of the flash, they are actually a lighter Amber Color in person. It has a tan cushion bottom that is in pretty nice condition. There are no cracks or chips in the glass and the brass is in excellent condition, hinged lid is working fine. It has four ornate legs, it does have a nice aged patina which I think adds character to the piece. Late 1800's or very early 1900's. U.S. buyers to pay $10.00 S/H, it weighs approx. 2 1/2 pounds. Antique or Vintage brass restaurant display case? Pie safe? I really don't know what this is. Stands about 28 inches tall. It breaks down into 3 pieces. The bottom 1/3 looks like it's for storage. The middle 1/3 has a half shelf and rails for another shelf maybe? The top 1/3 is like an open basket with the handle on top? Maybe this was used by a street peddler? 2 little doors open up for access inside. 3 little glass windows for viewing inside. Good condition but 1 pane of glass is missing. Easy to replace. Also there are rails inside that something rested on. Not sure if a shelf is missing or if something else rested in the rails. A few dings. There is a fair amount of tarnish or corrosion. Needs a good cleaning and polishing. Old and very heavy brass display case with glass at the sides except the brass back on one side. A mirror which was cut in for the bottom and a brass-hinged& plexiglass lid- which can be changed to glass. It does not have a lock on it so the buyer(if he or she wants a lock) will have to figure out how to do this. It measures about 14" front to back, 22" wide and is about 7" high. This is really heavy and old. It is on a piece of thick hard-wood with four bolts and can probably be bolted to a base or just set on top of a table or case. 3

The base is of dovetail construction with single board sides and 2 tongue& groove bottom boards. The 3 section glass top is attached to the base with iron hinges. The glass dividers are mortised and pegged. It has a brass lock and latch hook. Measurements: Height: 7” Width: 48-3/4” Depth: 23” The interior has been painted white as you can see in the pictures. There are old splits in the wood where the screws attach the hinges but the lid is still held securely in place with little or no play. The glass probably isn’t original but it is quite early as it is wavy. The glass has some wear with scratches. One piece has a small edge chip. RARE Antique Oval Brass MOP Vanity Tray Mirror Gilt Jewelry Display-Footed Lions
Let me say this first. The top is not a mother of pearl stone, the process was to make it look like mother of pearl, it was done with a thin foil. When this was new and you looked down on it, it would resemble that of a huge mother of pearl stone. Before and after the turn of the century, even up thru the 60's mother of pearl was so popular, anything that looked like it would sell. Not much different than the trends that you see today. The reason you never see these, they didn't survive. it was a terrible idea and not done really right for it to survive. Had they put real glass over it, you might see more of them but if these are stored where it's damp like a basement or hot like an attic, you won't find them in this condition. Most of the time the tops are completely removed and replaced with a mirror. There's no way ... moreto repair one of these and really no way to imitate them. A thin clear coat was poured on the tops then buffed to create a sheen look, not shiny but a little dull to help the look of the mother of pearl. As you can see, this one has had some things spilled on it, the stains may come out and they may not. The last thing you want to do on the top of these is get them wet. If water or cleaner gets under the plastic film, you will never get it out. The next mistake some people make is to take a syringe and try to put glue under the film to improve it's looks. Just about any glue you might use will disintegrate the thin foil under the film. The top, remarkable, is not coming off. Yes it's cracked and as you can see in the pic where I lifted it very slightly for you to see what I mean, it goes right back down and lays flat. Best thing to do, enjoy it just like you see it, don't try to improve it, because it's probably going to be the only one you ever se and it will most likely be in the best condition you could hope to find one of these. They were quiet expensive and it's another reason you don't see many of them. This top will still out last you if you don'

Up for auction is a beautiful glass with brass trim display case. The case also has a mirrored back inside. With a bird and flowers etched on the glass. Display case measures 8 3/4" wide by 11" tall by 3 3/4" deep. The back is metal. The metal back is all one color but appears to be two shades in the picture. The back has two hooks to hang it with or it can be stood up on a table. Or laid on its back on a table. It is in very good condition to mint. There are no cracks. Or other damage that I can see. The brass has patina from age. It's weight is 3lbs 8ozs. and with packing will weigh between 5 to 6 lbs. Beautiful antique display case! Low price and no reserve! Thanks for looking and good luck! This is a stunning antique handmade wood. Glass, and brass apothecary medical scale turned display case. It would make a wonderful display case and displays very well. it is made from wood with clear glass panels on all sides. it has a sliding glass door in the front that slides upward and has nice bronze knobs. it's footed with three brass feet. One in the back and two adjustable feet in the front. the adjust to be able to make sure the piece is level. there is also a lovely brass handle on the side that gives a great steampunk look. it can also be removed if desired. the case measures 17 inches tall by 16 1/2 inches wide by 9 3/4 inches back to front without measuring the brass handles. it is in nice antique condition.
