The base of the case on the front and sides is indented. Allowing your customers to get a close-up view of your display. The front. Side, and rear glass has the slight wavy look consistent with antique glass. The glass on top is quarter inch. Beveled glass. The two original shelves are each one solid board all the way across and contain a raised lip around the border. ... moreThey each sit on four original brackets spaced 29-30 inches apart and are capable of holding significant weight. As this display case is an antique over 100 years old. It has some minor issues, albeit only cosmetic ones that don't affect functionality or durability. As stated. One side glass panel is not original to the piece. Also. There must have originally been a third door on the back of the case; now there are two with the same width of space for access. Both doors move very easily back and forth. The glass on one back door has a small crack in it near the indented finger slot. But remains intact. One top beveled glass panel has a chip on one back corner and the other back corner of the same piece of glass was reconstructed. The other top beveled glass has two cup rings and a small area in the back section of cloudiness that appears to have been caused by a spill. It was really difficult to capture the cloudiness in an image. But if you look to the left, you can see it. Unfortunately. You can see reflections in the glass better than you can see the cloudiness. Antique SEALPACKERCHIEF Mens Handkerchief Oak Wood Glass Countertop Display Case For your consideration we have one of the best examples of an antique SEALPACKERCHIEF display case with original labels ever available. The Sealpackerchief Company was founded in 1908 and offered clothiers and haberdasheries the use of the display case as long as it was used solely to display and sell their sealed packages of handkerchiefs. The front cream. Red and gold decal shows the New York(N.Y. Trademark and shows, Patented July 27, 1909, March 10 1914 and Dec 17, 1918. The inside red and gold decal reads, This case is loaned with the understanding that it be used only for the display of Sealpackerchief" as well as"The International Handkerchief Manufacturing Company of New York" as well as, Trade Mark Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. The two sides. Door ... moreand bottom are solid 5/8" oak, the top and front are glass have no sharp edges. The back is also made of solid oak held in place by three small brass hinges that have heavy patina on them. The bottom of the back door has a half ball shape of brass that sits in a brass holder in the bottom to keep the back door secure if the door would be closed all the way. The top of the sides each have a hole approximately 1-1/2" from the back where the display had a dowle rod display to hold their sample handkerchiefs. This piece is hardly ever found intact with these cases anymore since they are so fragile. If you care to reproduce one. Please see the enclosed picture have attached with the listing for a visual reference. The display rack that would have attached to this case is not included. Please feel free to copy this old advertisement piece for your collection. Condition: The Interior Decal: Is almost perfect. 99+% intact with only minor surface dirt on it and some silver peeking out in two spots that I can see where the gold foil has come off. The measurements are 48" wide, 47" high, and the depth ranges from 17 to 25 inches. The back glass rolls easily to open the case. It even has one of the original candy stickers still on it. All the glass on the doors and sides are original and seeded. The glass shelf mid-way has been replaced. This fabulous antique showcase was patented in 1905 by the Grand Rapids Showcase company. It is seriously constructed of oak and has the original wavy glass. The one pictured was part of a series of twelve matching cabinets that were connected side by side next to each other. Hence the sides are open since they are butted up to the side of the one next to it. The one in the first several pictures has the side panels. The rest are as the on in the last four pictures with no sides. Nice vintage oak paneling or glass can be added to the sides if you would like to use one as an individual unit. The glass door of each opens out and slides into the cabinet on the right hand side. Much like a folding door. The back of each cabinet is bead board with the original finish. There are two clothing racks in each of these cabinets. One at the top and one ... morehalf way up. Each of the racks is solid cast bronze with nickel plate. The rack slides out so you can see the blouses. Jackets or other items more readily. The cabinets need some restoration such as tightening up the joints and refinishing the wood. ANTIQUE OAK DISPLAY CASE. PETITE WAVY SEED GLASS, CUTE! This little display case is sweet& petite. full of old country-store-style history& charm. It's got the old wavy glass with the stretched fine bubbles here& there if you look very closely, sometimes called seed-glass. It's the hallmark of an era placing this cabinet perhaps late 1800's. Possibly even the front pane was replaced in that vintage, as it's cut a tiny bit short(could that have been an air-vent for some living specimen that the Victorians were so fond of collecting? Nice molding along the base gives this case an elegant, classical feel. This would be nice for displaying specimen's. Like that incredible Nautilus Shell, or the bird skeleton you found, or some other fascinating item to keep highlighted behind glass. It has its'character' ... moreto be sure. Sees a bit delicate. Slightly rickety, but appears to be holding together. Likely this is due to its light-weight construction. Clearly an effort was made to minimize the framing around the glass on the front face& sides. The frame here is made of round oak dowel-type moldings, with grooves cut the long way at right angles to receive the glass. The wood was looking about as old as its 125 years or more, so we freshened that up with some fine Danish oil& wax. It's looking quite nice, a specimen itself! Measures about 16" high. 18" wide& 11" deep(including the base molding, which adds about an inch on three sides) We've shown this atop the other. Larger display case listed, which is just about the opposite in construction being stout& strong& only the front is glass. But opposites do in this case attract, they seem to go well together, as funky a pair as they are. This is an antique display counter for a business or store or for your own collections at home. This is beautiful oak with lots of glass. All the glass and the mirrors are in great shape. Including the top glass counter with minimal scratching. There are four(4) slide doors for access from the back with mirrors which face the customer. There are two(2) adjustable shelves with original brackets. This measures 70 inches long x 36 inches in height x 24 inches in depth. Very sturdy. The counter has been carefully stored for a few years and while we tried to clean it up for the photos. It still looks a bit dusty. It stands about 15 1/2" high with an approximately 9" square top and bottom and 7" square base; the inside is 5" x 5" on the floor x 11 1/2 high. The case is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips and there is a metal. Possibly brass handle for the door; the door is missing the latch but stays closed without it and could be replaced. There is a tiny bit of verdigris on one of the fittings on the base and I didn't clean it but I did mostly clean the case although a bit of dust still remains. But they in their hay day the cases were likely sitting side by side along one wall of the store. Each one measures about 6 ft from each end to the curve. They easily disassemble. This old cabinet is a wonderful collectible that is usable still today. Inside the wood case there is a removable black velvet piece. To open the glass lid you have to push a little round metal knob sticking out of the left side. It measures 15" tall and 10 1/2" wide. The case portion measures 13" x 9 1/4" and is about 1 1/2" deep. This piece is in very good. Sturdy condition but does have some normal wear. There are some scratches and nicks on the wood, a few spots, a crack on the back, there are two tiny nicks and a thin, short scratch on the mirror, there are a couple scuff marks on the velvet piece and a little bigger than ... morepea size residue spot on the edge of the velvet piece. The stunning oak case is solid showing no repairs. A small triangular section of oak is missing from the frame of the back of one sliding door as shown in the photo. A brass tag on the front base of the case touts the maker. The base and top appear to be pine. A stunning iron clasp secures the back door as shown in the photo. Dimensions are 35.25 inches tall. 20 inches deep, 24 inches wide. This case has not been repaired nor does it need any repair. Original wavy glass. Great condition for its age. Beautiful wood. This showcase comes from Quality. KY where it was used as a display case in the McReynolds mercantile decades ago. I am guessing its age to be pre-1900's. Its design is awesome with nickel plated supports at the corners and joints. It sports an identification tag reading. Nashville Showcase Co. Nashville, Tenn. This vintage display case is seven feet long or 84 inches. 28 inches deep, and 17 inches tall. The glass is all original telling the story of its use. The top left glass is dulled from items being dragged over its surface. The top right glass shows less wear. But has a crack in the corner. The right bottom glass is missing a triangular piece at the corner. Please view photos for these imperfections. The glass was secured by putty which has dried and begun to crack over the years. Thanks for taking the time to view our posting. We are proud to offer for your consideration this terrific primitive antique. Small country store countertop display case. Hardwood case with beautiful details. Thick one board top and bottom. Beveled corner supports and terrific old fluted and scalloped molding around underside of top and around base.very pretty feature. I believe the back of the piece is made of pine with believed edges. Hinged door in center and original, hand carved rotating knobs that hold the door closed. Original iron hinges. Well constructed using very small old nails. All of which show perfect age appropriate oxidation. The frame of the piece is in its original wood finish.no refinishing here.and the back is painted in old red paint. I don't think the red paint is original but it is still old. The interior bottom ... moreand back have been painted white or off-white. This could pretty easily be removed if you wish or painted a different color. From the front. The piece is missing the glass on the right hand side but again, this can be easily replaced. Front and left side appear to be original. Both have tiny bubbles in glass and the side piece is quite wavy. Ca. 1900's- 1920's. Very possibly earlier. Super primitive condition with age appropriate wear as described above. Wear and losses to paint. Mainly on the sides of frame. The piece is quite sturdy and it is very structurally sound. Measures 21.75" high. 11" deep and 25.25" wide. Antique Wavy Glass Mahogany or Oak Display Case Drug Store Taxidermy Oddities
This is a phenomenal piece. It was extremely filthy when I got it so it has been carefully cleaned with Murphy's oil soap and I used Howard's Restore a Finish to bring back its old splendor and shine. Looking at the piece. I think it was stained twice- based on the stained edge of the top molding that seems it should have been raw. You can see it in one of the pictures. The glass is gorgeous. It is wavy and has tiny bubbles throughout it. I'm not certain if the wood is mahogany or oak, but I'm leaning towards mahogany based on the grain. It measures 17 inches tall, 11.75 inches wide, 11.25 deep. These measurements are approximate, it is very old, hand made, and as a result it simply isn't perfect- the measurements can vary within a quarter inch. The glass doesn't quite fit into the grove along one side near the top. ... moreIt may be able to be put back into place but I didn't want to force it and I'm not convinced it wasn't just made this way. Either way. All of the glass panels are very securely in place. This would be an awesome display case for a prized oddity(I kept a beehive and a mountain lion skull in it personally) Old medicine bottles, or anything you'd really love to call attention to in a classic and striking way. Antique Walking Cane Case This antique walking cane display case dates from around the late 1800's/ early 1900’s. Although unmarked. It looks a lot like it is made from Oscar Onken Co, Cincinnati, Ohio. Constructed from oak. It is mounted on 4 rollers. A crisscross wood dowel grate allows for display of seventy eight items. The dowel rods are 1/4" and make squares that measure 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" on the inside. Walking sticks, walking canes, parasols and umbrellas all fit easily within the squares. The base is fitted with graduated steps, each with 13 round indentations to hold tips in place. The front row of the case is 30" from ... morethe step to the top of the dowels. An item measuring 38" in height can fit in the front row. The back row is 26 1/2" in height from the step to the top of the dowels. It is 41 1/4” from the step to the underside of the case. Measures approximately 17" deep. 20" wide and 7.25" high. I believe the cabinet is oak. The cabinet will hold a total of 617 spools. There are 7 missing pegs. For 14 years I owned and operated Swanson's Antiques in downtown Orlando. Tonight I am offering one of my antique oak display cases. This case measures 54 inches tall X 33& 3/4 inches wide X 12& 3/4 inchers deep. The top shelf area has a light. I have installed tamper proof LSDA Tubular Cam Locks which makes it perfect for displaying your inventory at an antique mall or shop without worrying about someone picking your lock and taking your goods. 6' Antique 8 Door Oak Wavy Glass Dry Goods Mercantile General Store Display Case
Photos should tell all. 8 glass top-opening display drawers and two drawers at the bottom. this stands about 70" high. Is 4' wide and about 30" front to back. as mentioned, it has eight(8) wavy glass"lift" doors and in each is a drawer that can be brought forward to store& retrieve dry goods. at the bottom are two closed drawers which glide easily. This is one piece overall. It has no damage and there is one pull(at the lower right hand side) which is gone. The glass is really neat as it has the old"pocks" and dimples and waves one would expect from a piece this age. It has a nice finished plywood back. Local pick-up only- this is at a store where we have rented space to display quilts etc. so pick-up will be easy as the piece is close to the front door and the loading zone is right in front also.
