The Sealpackerchief Company was founded in 1908 and offered clothiers and haberdasheries the use of the display case as long as it was used solely to display and sell their sealed packages of handkerchiefs. The front cream. Red and gold decal shows the New York(N.Y. Trademark and shows, Patented July 27, 1909, March 10 1914 and Dec 17, 1918. The inside red and gold decal reads, This case is loaned with the understanding that it be used only for the display of Sealpackerchief" as well as"The International Handkerchief Manufacturing Company of New York" as well as, Trade Mark Reg. The top of the sides each have a hole approximately 1-1/2" from the back where the display had a dowle rod display to hold their sample handkerchiefs. Pastry, candies etc. It is in strong, tight good condition with some picking or specking on the chrome and it came clear up with steel wool and I will check. but the chrome is still shiny and looks pretty good. Description This i s a fabulous find. A curved glass display case with the coolest patina I've seen in a while: This piece measures 20" wide across the front. Is 18" deep and stands 15 1/2" tall. It is in antique condition. Here's the damage: One the front large curved piece of glass there is a crack in the top corner. It does NOT move, is solid and smooth to the touch. On the side panel, the top corner was cracked out. About the size of a quarter. Easily replaced.but I like the old wavy glass sooooo. Now.on the back door. We have an early modification. The ORIGINAL door opened the bottom half of the panel. This was modified. The original hinges were moved so that the whole thing opens for better access. I have up for sale a very nice vintage/ antique circa 1900 Countertop Curved Glass Display Showcase cabinet- measures approx 35-1/2" long. 24" deep, 14" tall. These are outside dimensions. The case is made of wood with what appears to be a nickel plated metal covering over the wood. The back door is hinged- appears to be original as far as I can tell. There is no manufacturers markings anywhere that I can see. I have seen this same nickel over wood type case before.One was made by the Kansas City Showcase Works and the other by Stein Showcases of Rochester, NY. The case comes from the estate of a 90+ year old Antique Dealer used in her Antique shop. It is in Very Good Condition- the glass is basically excellent with no damages- nice and clear. Overall the case is in what I would call very good shape- looks great as well. It ... moreappears as though the inside wood was refinished many years back- meaning the inner surface and inside back door. The bottom boards have some minor separation. I notice that the back door needs some attention. The right side does not snug up close as the left side does, so it may need some adjusting. Also the latch plunger is just a bit short of catching onto the upper part of the latch that holds it and keeps it shut. I have this shown in my last pic. This is an old piece and there is normal age and use wear and imperfections. Only issue is there is a crack on plexi glass where my finger is easy to fix and as you can see when opened not that noticeable. This Hickock counter table top display point of sale and storage box has a top slide out section for display and a larger bottom draw for stock. All appears to be original finish and materials and has held several miniatures for display for my own purposes for a while now. The boat needs another part and so here it is for your purchase! Attractive wooden table top display case used by the Hickok Company out of Harrisburg. Pennsylvania. This company founded in 1844 made measuring tools such as rulers and drafting items. Large Victorian Curved Glass Countertop 1800's Display Case ,showcase
This is a late 1800's counter top display with pressed german silver over wood.German silver is an alloy brass that polishes out to look like nickel or silver.I purchased this display case with another one I restored which is pictured as well and for sale if you check my other ebay listings.I purchased them in Fayetteville NC.The case was in need of major polishing.I also installed new dark blue velvet for the bottom.I spent close to 30 hours polishing out the tarnish in the metal which was almost black-it was not a good looking patina.As you can see in the pictures-there are numerous dents.Scratches in the metal.The original doors were missing so I made 3 new sliding doors out of oak.I attached moulding to the inside of the doors and left space for 1/8" thick mirrors as an option if you wanted to add mirrors to the doors later.The ... moreperson I bought this from said that it came from an old pharmacy/soda/tobacco shop in Fayetteville.The store dated back into the late 1800's.The doors slide,not perfectly-but do slide open with little effort.The cabinet is not perfectly square so the doors stick a little.All of the top and side glass is wavy and has striations and bubbles-showing its true age-adding to the appeal of this display.The front 2 pieces of curved glass are original and have 100 + years of scratches from use.This gives the piece true character.This would be great for displaying jewelry,accessories,bakery goods,tobacco related items.toys.The dimensions are as follows: 71 1/2" Wide x 24" Deep x 13" high.This is a fragile piece and I would prefer only local pick up.If you live within 100 miles of NYC I can arrange delivery for a fee.If you want it shipped-you need to find your own shipper to pick it up.I live in an elevator building in Manhattan and I can help bring it to the curb.Buyer is responsible for his own pick up and shipping! Fantastic antique Slant Glass Countertop Display Showcase Wood& Glass lined with a Purple Velvet. Wood shows alot of age such as scratches. Rubbing. Dovetailed corners. Glass has some scratches.Glass sits on the velvet side walls. No hinges it just lifts on& off. Box is 4 side walls wood. The rest is a heavy cardboard wrapped in Velvet. Even the bottom. It has a long wood strip down the middle with 16 notches of various sizes. I have no idea what was displayed in this showcase. Velvet is in rough condition.and so is alot of the cardboard. It may have gotten wet at some point, it has a musty smell. Copying the design of this Velvet& board would be an awesome restoration of a nice old box! Measures 22 inches long& 10 3/4 inches wide. Hardwood case with beautiful details. Thick one board top and bottom. Beveled corner supports and terrific old fluted and scalloped molding around underside of top and around base.very pretty feature. I believe the back of the piece is made of pine with believed edges. Hinged door in center and original, hand carved rotating knobs that hold the door closed. Original iron hinges. Well constructed using very small old nails. All of which show perfect age appropriate oxidation. The frame of the piece is in its original wood finish.no refinishing here.and the back is painted in old red paint. I don't think the red paint is original but it is still old. The interior bottom ... moreand back have been painted white or off-white. This could pretty easily be removed if you wish or painted a different color. From the front. The piece is missing the glass on the right hand side but again, this can be easily replaced. Front and left side appear to be original. Both have tiny bubbles in glass and the side piece is quite wavy. Ca. 1900's- 1920's. Very possibly earlier. Super primitive condition with age appropriate wear as described above. Wear and losses to paint. Mainly on the sides of frame. The piece is quite sturdy and it is very structurally sound. NICE Antique Oak General Store Countertop Display Case Cabinet Bakery Wakarusa
This wonderful old display cabinet is said to have come from the bakery in Wakarusa Indiana years ago. It is oak. And looks to have its original finish and hardware. I am thinking it dates from about 1890. It stands 37 inches tall, and the base measures 26 x 26 with the slightly narrower body measuring 23 x 23. The two slat shelves inside measure 21 x 21 each. The vintage counter top display case is in very nice condition and ready to go to work as is. It has held some sort of potpourri in its more recent past and has a mild"Fruity" scent inside. It is not obnoxious, I just mention it in case you are sensitive to such things. This is a great old store display cabinet and you will enjoy it for many years! THIS IS A LOCAL PICKUP ONLY!

Very Nice Vintage Sealpackerchief Glsss Display Countertop Showcase c1912. Here is an antique. Smaller countertop sales and display showcase for'Sealpackerchief' a handkerchief brand that was offered for sale in sealed packets held within this show case. Newsprint advertising for this product dates 1912. So I will just say circa 1912. The maker's label is quite unique in that it describes that"this case is loaned with the understanding that it be used only for the display of'Sealpackerchief' The case was normally stocked with a variety of the'Sealpackerchief' handkerchiefs that were packaged in a variety of linen types with prices that ranged from $.10 to $.25 in quantities serving both men and women style tastes. The case supported a bent steel rod that stood approximately 5" above the show case. On ... moreit would be a sampling of the product that was packaged and kept in the show case. I don't have the rod. But that would be a simple item to duplicate. It appears to have been originally constructed with glue and common slotted screws. Even the brass hinges are held on with tiny slotted screws. Markings: the'Sealpackerchief' decal appears to be original& authentic.it was used in other types of print advertising. Which I have personally seen. Details: Wood construction. Others I have seen are oak. But I am not sure on this one. If it is oak, it has a cherry or mahogany finish. You be the judge. metal spring loaded pin that keeps the rear door shut. glass is retained by slots in the wood. Dimensions: exterior: 18 1/4" width x 6 1/2" deep x 6 1/4" height" weight- 6 1/2 lbs.
