Antique 19th century Queen's Factory Sprig Old Paris Porcelain Sauce Tureen 1800
Fine late 18th/ early 19th century old Paris porcelain sauce tureen and cover decorated in the sprig or cornflower pattern favored by Marie Antoinette- with gilt highlights. The sauce boat and undertray are one piece. Boat shape with pointed ends and applied paterae at each end. Good overall condition- the knop is missing and in its place is an old metal loop as a"make do" repair probably completed in the 19th century. Unmarked though the design elements and unglazed base suggest Queen's Factory or one of the early Paris companies like Nast or Dihl. Finest quality museum piece. Measures 10.25" long x 6.25" wide. This is an original. Vintage, antique soup tureen. I don't know the exact age but I do know it was purchased about 35 years ago at an antique store. The tureen measures 8 inches by 6 inches and is 5 inches high. There is the tureen, lid and ladle. The outside is decorated with leaves and vegetables. There are no chips, dings or cracks anywhere that I can see. There is age crazing, mostly on the ladle. I always double box breakable items to help assure their safe arrival. Authentic Antiques. Original Art, Vintage Collectiables. Wonderful pair of porcelain turtle tureens dating from late 19th century to early 20th century. They have no marks but the quality and craftsmanship are exceptional. Each one has bisque finish on the exterior and a glazed interior. There are no marks however the styling suggests Asian origin. Possibly Japan or China. The pair are in remarkable condition no cracks. However one turtle has two small nicks on the edge of the shell. The other shell has one spot where the bisque does not fully cover the edge of the shell. Both of these issues are shown in the pictures. Antique Tureen Blue & White Porcelain Burgess & Co. Royal China Early 1900's
This is such a gorgeous piece of fine historic china. It was made by Burgess& Co. A New Jersey pottery company that only produced its wares from 1903 on and, apparently, for a very short period thereafter. Burgess& Co. pottery is quite rare today. The company was originally known as Burgess and Campbell until Mr. Campbell was no longer a part of the company in 1903. The back reads, in blue, Royal China Burgess& Co. surrounding a crown. It can be assumed. Then, that this piece dates from the very early 1900s. I would call it a vegetable dish. It measures 9-1/2" not including the handles) X 7" but the actual capacity is not very large as there is a pedestal base. The inside of the bowl slopes downward towards the base. The cover handle and handles on both sides of the bowl are intricate, ornate and very beautiful. There ... moreis a crack on one end of the bowl. Another smaller one on the top rim and a more substantial one on the bottom as shown in the photo but these almost don't seem to be damage to the pottery itself, but flaws associated with age. There is substantial discoloration and crazing and a couple of very small spots on the cover where the glaze seems to have worn off. This would be a lovely piece for someone who collects blue and white antique chinaware because of its graceful shape and size as well as the less common pattern. This was a piece I had on display in my own home for many years but the blue and white phase has passed. It is probably well over 100 years old and it does show signs of age. This is an antique or vintage(from estate and appears very old) hen on nest tureen. My guess is possibly it was made for syrup as it has what looks like a maple leaf on the side. This is approximately 7" long. 4.25" wide and 7" tall. This piece'rings' or resonates when the lid is put on. It is almost plain, with a discreet decoration. This is footed. And lidded, and has 2 handles. The foot has a scalloped frill and is decorated with swags around the edge. The decoration around the lid and the bowl is scrolls and crowns. The handle on the lid seems to be made up of 4 fleur de lys together. Which gives the effect of being a rosebud. The handles seem to be in the shape of scrolls. There is no maker's mark at all on this beauty. ANTIQUE EMPIRE PORCELAIN ENGLAND BLUE BAND 12 SIDED ART DECO TUREEN BOWL 1932 A+
I'm offering for sale and considering offers for a Marked Empire Porcelain Company Limited of Stoke on Trent. Staffordshire, England(Formerly Stoke, England 1896 to 1967) White Glazed Porcelain Pottery, Dodecagon(12 Sided) Art Deco, Pottery, Antique Tureen or Serving Bowl with its Lid, Featuring Wide Bands of Colbalt Blue Trim and Gold Trim in"Excellent Plus" Used Condition, Date Coded as being Manufactured in August of 1932. This Art Deco tureen or covered dish is absolutely stunning with it's wide band cobalt blue trim and a bit of gold trim to go along with its dodecagon(12 sided) shape. It has no chips. Cracks, outside scratches, scuffs or repairs of any kind and I'm grading it as being in"Excellent Plus" condition because there are just a few minor glaze crazing lines on the bottom of the tureen and some ... moreof it's gold trim has worn away over the years as well. Glaze crazing can be very normal with any glazed pottery or porcelain which has some age to it. Worn away gold trim is also normal and when it comes to the gold trim most pottery factories applied it over the glaze so over time it can rub off and wear away. If you use the"Supersize" and"Zoom" features I've provided with the pictures you'll be able to see where some of the gold is now very faint or completely missing. Interestingly enough if you"Super Size" picture 11 showing you a close up view of the maker's mark you can see one of the glaze crazing lines going across the ink stamp mark and please remember the glaze crazing is isolated to the bottom only. There are also a few factory flaws which consist of tiny dark specks within the white glaze in a few places and this can be considered normal for white glazed pottery from this era. Lastly if you look at picture 12 you can see a small and very faded blue cloud which is within the glaze and probably got there when the decorating department applied the cobalt blue bands. The condition is very good. There are a few minor spots of staining on the edge of the rim and the handles. Otherwise, there are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or restoration. This item up for your bidding consideration is an Antique T& R Boote England. Semi-Porcelain Soup Tureen. The registry number on this piece is#18809, which places its manufacture somewhere between 1890 and 1906. This tureen has a simply beautiful floral pattern on it. I have looked through many different sites and have not been able to locate this particular pattern. It has gilded edging around both the lid and the bottom, with more gilding around the top lid and the handles. It measures 13 1/2 inches from handle to handle. The main part of the tureen measures 10 1/2 inches long by 7 1/4 inches wide and is 5 inches tall. There are no chips, cracks or crazing on this tureen. There is slight gilt wear on the outer handles and on the top lid, otherwise it is in very nice estate condition. Bid with confidence. Up for sale is an Antique Green on White Transferware Covered Tureen or Casserole Dish. This might even be a soap dish. The item is unusual in that it has a manufactured hole in the top for venting. The handles are shaped like wooden logs. This has a Oriental countryside and floral design in green around the sides and top and bottom of lid. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is just slight wear to the design. It does have a molded hallmark on the bottom. But it is just a mixture of letters and I do not recognize it. ANTIQUE EMPIRE PORCELAIN ENGLAND COBALT BLUE BAND ART DECO DODECAGON TUREEN BOWL
Up for auction is a Marked. Empire Porcelain Company Limited of Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, England(Formerly Stoke, England 1896 to 1967) White Glazed Porcelain Pottery, Dodecagon(12 Sided) Art Deco Pottery, Antique Tureen or Serving Bowl with its Lid, Featuring Wide Bands of Colbalt Blue Trim and Gold Trim in"Excellent Plus" Used Condition, Date Coded as being Manufactured in August of 1932. This Art Deco tureen or covered dish is absolutely stunning with it's wide band cobalt blue trim and a bit of gold trim to go along with its dodecagon(12 sided) shape. It has no chips. Cracks, outside scratches, scuffs or repairs of any kind and I'm grading it as being in"Excellent Plus" condition because there are just a few minor glaze crazing lines on the bottom of the tureen and some of it's gold trim has worn away ... moreover the years. Glaze crazing can be very normal with any glazed pottery or porcelain which has some age to it. Worn away gold trim is also normal and when it comes to the gold trim most pottery factories applied it over the glaze so over time it can rub off and wear away. If you use the"Supersize" and"Zoom" features I've provided with the pictures you'll be able to see where some of the gold is now very faint or completely missing. Interestingly enough if you"Super Size" picture 11 showing you a close up view of the maker's mark you can see one of the glaze crazing lines going across the ink stamp mark and please remember the glaze crazing is isolated to the bottom only. Glaze crazing is only a separation of the glaze and it's definitely not a crack in the pottery itself. Even after pottery is kiln fired it can expand and contract from temperature changes from hot to cold. The fired on glaze also expands and contracts from temperature changes, but if it happens at a different rate of time the glaze forms"crazing" lines. It's hard to pinpoint why, but glaze crazing was acceptable with most consumers even though most

18th C Antique Meissen/ Ludwigsburg Porcelain Covered Bowl- 4 Watteau Scenes You are bidding on a truly exquisite masterpiece of modelling and painting in this beautiful 18th Century(mark from 1764) Antique Ludwigsburg or early 19th Century Meissen Covered Tureen or Bola Bowl. The bowl is 8 inches tall to the top of the darling little boy& girl figurines having a picnic. And 8.25 inches in diameter. The modelling is fabulous and could be Meissen( in fact the piece could be Meissen as Georg Kittel's X trademark is present. Georg Kittel was one of the early Meissen craftsman- early 1800's) with details allowing one to pick up the cover using the little figurines. There are 2 Watteau style paintings on the bowl and also 2 on the cover along with 2 floral bouquets on each, all done in masterful detail( please look at the many photos ... moreto appreciate its beauty) The quality of the porcelain is like crystal, one tap and it verberates for a long time. The porcelain has a swirled effect with a basket weave trim on both the cover and the bowl with a thin gilded line around both pieces. The mark on the bottom is a blue back to back"C's" similar to the Cartier trademark with Pommels under glaze and used by Ludwigsburg in 1764 to 1824. The"X" above this mark could be the Painter or modeller's mark. A famous Meissen painter, Georg Kittel also used the"X" to identify his works.
