White Ironstone Covered Tureen Serving / Vegetable Dish T&R Boote Sydenham Shape
We are offering a white ironstone covered serving dish in the Sydenham Shape by T&R Boote. The lid and the base have the diamond-shaped registry mark that matches. The base has an additional“CD” mark that is not on the lid. The lid has a mark of four small squares that form a larger square that is not on the base. The lid fits the base but it is not a perfect fit. The lid also has 4 different areas that have been repaired; only one area is visible on the outside. The base has a shallow chip on the underside of one of the scallops that is approximately 1 inch in length. A small area of roughness is on the edge that is approximately ½ inch in length. Inside the bowl is a small stress fracture and the small dark spots found in early pieces. The flaws do not detract from this beautiful early piece of ironstone perfect for display. The ... moresize is approximately 10 ¾” diameter and 9 ¾” high to the top of the finial. The bowl without the lid is approximately 5 ½” high. Please ask questions. Details: 1 Soup Tureen with Lid and Ladle: This is an especially rare find being that the entire Tureen is intact with lid and ladle. The Lid is in good to excellent condition. Viewing from the top it is fully intact with no chips or scratches. Not visible but can be felt is a hairline crack that can be seen on the underside. This runs from the cut out for the ladle for about 2 inches. The transferware is overall clear and bright ... morewith a small area surrounding the pattern and bird art work that appears a little fussy and more than likely from manufacturing. The underside of the lid two small chips. One in each corner, the hairline crack as mentioned above and noted crackling to the glaze. Over all it should be noted that this lid is still in good to excellent condition. It is stamped with the Ridgways bow& quiver, Devonshire. Rd No 2302, Rd No 688. Length: 11& ½” ~ Width: 7& ¾” The Ladle is in good to excellent condition The handle has been repaired just above the ladle bowl. This is not immediately apparent. There is a crackling to the glaze and discoloration in the bowl and about 3& ½” up the handle. The discoloration gives off the appearance that it was caused by sitting in hot food/ soup being there is a definite line of where it ends. There is an embossed leaf design on the end of the handle. There are no other markings. It fits nicely into the tureen and gives the feeling that this is the original ladle that came with this tureen. For a fact the Veg. Dish was on the day of 19th in the year 1869 The Tureen which is more difficult to read was also manufactured the same year. Up for sale is this gorgeous antique soup tureen or covered casserole from a private Conn estate. On the bottom it is marked M China L and in gold 1110. It does not have a makers mark. It is white porcelain with a scalloped base and scalloped lid. The handles are a twist scroll and trimmed in gold. There is a cut out for a ladel on the lid. 19th C ironstone tureen or covered vegetable dish Wedgwood?
Nicely shaped tureen or large covered vegetable dish. Unknown maker. Lightly impressed mark but too faint to read. Looks to be late 1800s. Tureen is approximately 6.5 inches tall and opening is approx. 7 inches by about 9.5 inches. One of the handles has an underside chip that is nearly invisible from the top or side. Just from underneath. Typical imperfections of ironstone of this era. Including surface age crazing, discoloration, manufacturing glaze imperfections and inclusions. Antique John Edwards White Lions Head Ironstone Tureen Covered Vegetable Dish
Beautiful John Edwards ironstone covered dish with lions heads. As I understand. This is from between the 1850's and the 1870's. There is crazing, a hairline crack in the lid, a small chip in the rim and a hairline, and a couple of cracks by the handles that look like manufacturers defects. There are a few small discoloration spots and glaze imperfections. Despite the stated defects, this is a good looking dish as there are no large chips, cracks, or stains to detract. Considering the age, it is on excellent condition! Opening measures about 9" x 6.5" and is almost 4" tall without lid. Please inspect photos closely! ID 2013 Description: This auction is for a Very Early English Porcelain Tureen/Covered Vegetable Dish with a soft stepped pedestal. There are no markings. But there are numbers, handwritten in gold on the backside. The tureen is 5 3/4" high to top of the Lid Knob. It is 10 3/4" from Tab Handle to Tab Handle. The bowl is 8 1/4" in diameter. With the LID OFF. The dish is 3" high. We have found NO chips or nicks or cracks. But we do see very light crazing, and gold loss on the Lid and bands, and handles. There are grease or butter stains to inside of the bowl. But this is not considered a flaw, but a characteristic of old china. There are also ash pops from the kiln firing, and kiln marks on the bottom of the soft pedestal. The Blue Transferware Border is on both pieces. We are pleased to offer this a nice Austrian porcelain covered vegetable bowl or casserole with handles. The back has the manufacturer's mark– a crown. With two shields, Vienna and Austria. There were reportedly four New York importers that used this mark. They were PH Leonard. Bawo& Dotter, Charles L. Dwenger and Paul A. Straub& Co. The mark was used on Vienna China from Count Thun's factory in KláSterec. It dates to around 1890- 1900's. It measures approximately 6 1/2" in diameter. Offered is a lovely. Smaller sized, Covered Tureen or Vegetable Dish in the Montpelier Hexagon Shape. This piece features a footed hexagon shape, embossed side handles, and a wreath finial on the cover. This shape was produced by John Ridgway& Co. in Hanley, England and was registered in 1848. This piece is unmarked. The base of the dish has some age coloring. Light wear on the top rim, and some crazing with a couple of light surface harilines near the base. Antique Austrian Porcelain Covered Vegetable Dish/Tureen - Floral & Gold Gilt
This antique vegetable dish could also serve as a soup tureen inasmuch as there is a cut out on the lid for a ladle. It measures 14 inches across from handle tips. About 8.5 inches high to the top of the handle, and almost 9 inches wide.I t is back stamped with the number 3276 as an italic style number with a circle enclosing a 4 petaled flower with the word Austria underneath. The handles are a twisted scroll trimmed with gold. The bowl and lid are decorated with a delicate five petaled flower and leaves. The lid and base are both scalloped and trimmed in gold as well. This gold is wearing off in places on the lid trim, and on the handles. The gold trim on the base is almost totally intact. Around the inner rim of the dish for about 1/2-3/4 inch deep the surface is uniformly a different texture than the porcelain finish below. In a couple ... moreplaces it is discolored either from age or food stains of long past. Photo 6 depicts this. There are no chips, cracks, flea bites or repairs. The bowl and lid weigh over 5lbs. White Ironstone Small Vintage Shape Tureen / Covered Vegetable Dish - c. 1865
Offered is this gorgeous White Ironstone Tureen or Covered Vegetable Dish in the Vintage Shape. This shape features oval medallions surrounded by bunches of grapes and grape vines. There is a cable trim at the top of the base and a chain trim on the outer edge of the lid. It has crabstock handles and finial. This piece was produced by E. C. Challinor in Fenton. England circa 1865, and retains their impressed mark. This tureen is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks, or crazing, and only very minimal age coloring. It measures 8 1/4 inches from handle to handle, 6 1/2 inches in width, and 6 inches in height. ~This remains an impressive piece of early White Ironstone and displays beautifully ~ Please email any questions before bidding. Antique Brown & White Aesthetic Transferware Tureen, Vegetable Serving Dish
Beautiful antique tureen in almost-perfect condition. This has not suffered any abuse over the years. It has no chips. No cracks, no hairlines, no fleabites, no nibbles. It doesn't even have any crazing so there's no staining or toning. The surface& inside are both clean& shiny. It does have the 3 tiny pinpoints inside both the bottom& the top from manufacturing. There is a small surface rub or perhaps a glaze bubble pop on one corner, but it's only mentioned for complete accuracy. I don't see it as actual damage, especially since it's only about 1/8 of an inch& only in the top layer of glaze. It measures approximately 10 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches. It's unmarked on the bottom and sits solidly on the table. You won't be disappointed with this treasure. I'm starting it at a bargain price. Of course ... morewe accept returns if this gem is not as described. We still believe that. The Customer is Always Right. Should postage be significantly less than charged. We round off& return excess to Buyer via Pay Pal.
