Offered for your consideration is this very early. C. 1840, English transferware covered sauce tureen with green floral decoration. I have owned this piece for many years and am still quite taken with its graceful shape, from its scalloped foot to its acanthus leaf handles, and bright green(famille verte) cabbage rose decoration. Except for a short hairline that has darkened with age. And some discoloration that has come from use and age on the interior(see photo) this piece is in rather remarkable condition given its inherent fragility and the fact that it is just a few decades short of its 200th birthday! The sauce tureen consists of three parts to include the undertray which displays"The Crow and the Pitcher" The tureen which displays"The Dog and the Wolf" and the lid which displays"The Oak and the Reed" from Aesop's Fables. E ach image is surrounded by a naturalistic scene. It was common practice to have different patterns like this between lids and bases. So rest assured that these are an accurate matching set and not a later marriage. The border displays various floral and scroll designs, and the bottom is marked with the pattern name and manufacturer. The handles are all embossed ... morewith floral or sheep type images and they are also accented in gold. Overall the sauce tureen measures approximately 8 3/8" long and it stands about 6 1/4" tall. Ebay Listing Page Antique Historical Staffordshire Penn's Treaty Brown Transferware Sauce Tureen I tem Description: Up for auction is a stunning antique historical brown transferware sauce tureen manufactured by Thomas Godwin of Staffordshire. England during the early 1800s. The sauce tureen features William Penn making his treaty with the Eastern Woodland Indians near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The border displays a geometric pattern and the edge is scalloped with open work handles and finial on the lid. The bottom displays the pattern name and overall the sauce tureen stands about 6 1/8" tall and measures approximately 9" in length. Item Condition: The overall condition of the sauce tureen is excellent. It is extremely clean with no chips. Cracks, or repairs, with the exception of a tight hairline on one side of the foot ... morewhere overspray was applied at some point in its life. This does not show through to the inside of the tureen and it does not extend up into the body of the tureen. The white earthenware is still very bright and clean with minor staining on the interior and the brown color is extremely deep with nice contrast. The glaze is glossy with fine consistent crazing on the lid and the edges display minimal glaze loss or rubbing. There are light utensil marks on the interior of the tureen as well. Purple Transferware Ironstone Sauce Tureen G. Phillips Park Scenery Cows c1834
This auction is for a Lovely and Rare Purple or Lavender Transferware Ironstone Small Sauce Tureen made by G. Phillips of Longport England circa 1834. It is in the company's Beautiful Park Scenery Pattern. Which is a classical Romantic scene with two cows grazing in a pasture with a manor in the background. The piece Displays Wonderfully. It has chips to the underside of the side handles(see last two photos) and crazing. The lid has even toning and there is a glaze pop in the side of the tureen(see photo 10) It has G. Phillips Park Scenery backstamp in purple. The company operated from 1834-1848. With the lid on and including the flower finial. The piece stands 6 inches tall. It is 7 inches long. Check out my! COPELAND SPODE'S ITALIAN BLUE TRANSFERWARE SAUCE TUREEN AND UNDERPLATE
Description Copeland Spode(England) blue transferware pearl ware suace tureen with underplate in Spode's Blue Italian pattern. This great piece has a wonderful landscape and figural scenes of the Italian countryside. There are three glaze nicks to the finish on the handle. The underplate has a slight wobble when seated on a flat surface. This is not a new piece. But I do not know how old it is. My guess(because of the shape) would be that it is an earlier piece. There is a personal label from one of the previous owners, an Edward Greeve of New Hampton, New York. Records show that he passed away in 1973 and this piece was in his collection then and likely dates to the mid to late 1800's. Dimensions: 5 1/2" high x 8" x 6"

Estate found. 4 different antique ceramic-porcelain Gravy/ Soup Ladles various sizes from smallest to largest include~ blue/ white flower transfer ware scene with gold trim 2 1/4" x 2 5/8" x 6" total length, Blue/ White decorative trim inside the bowl 3" x 3" x 5 1/2" Victorian Blue/ White flowers 2 3/4" x 2 7/8" x 6" large flow blue ladle with three stripes on the curved handle 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" x 7" length. One tiny old nick on the rim of the smaller ladle bowl, but that's about it. All four ladles are still in very good condition.
