All three pieces are hand painted with a superb ... moredesign that I cannot find even in all the Doccia books I own. It consists of some birds of paradise with blue rocks. Flowers and laves, and a church type building that looks like a castle with a big tree in front of it. Nice fancy floral trim to the edge and two blue and puce handles on the main body with a figural finial on the lid. The set is rather large but still extremely elegant! The set is made with a tin glaze to cover the not so white porcelain paste of the time. This was used around the 1770's. The set is in amazing condition with the under platter colors being a tiny bit worn in the center, a small chip to the edge of the platter as shown which doesn't affect the shape and would be a very easy fix. The finial on the lid has once broken off and was reglued which could be improved upon. Some firing faults one would expect on a piece this large and old but very few with the only larger one being on the inside by the one handle as shown in the pictures. The set is not marked which is fairly normal for them but the shape and colors are definitely by them during this period. The platter is 1.875 inches tall, 15.5 inches wide and 12.5 inches deep. The tureen and lid are 10 inches tall, 14 inches wide and 9.25 inches deep. Probably the best tureen I have seen by them and certainly a fun piece! 18th Century, Huge Old Paris Bourbon Sprig Tureen, liner, & Lid, perfect
This set is perfect with wear to gilding and some to the flowers. There are no chips or cracks. Only some firing flaws to the base of the platter. there is also some kiln dust and a little dirt on the base of the tureen, as expected. I swear it is in such good shape because it it heavier than anything that could have tried to damage it. Please not that the shipping anywhere will not be cheap, but it will be worth it. The marks look French, and while I found some that seem to match, I did not find one factory that matched both sets. Could be Serves, Lassia, or LeSeynes. But it is French, Old Paris, and the gilding reflects it. The liner and tureen are both 15 inches long and the Tureen is 6.5 inches deep. the total height is over 11 inches. Description: An antique. 18th century, Faience/ Fayence tureen. The tureen is 9.75 inches tall and 11 inches wide. The tureen has a red clay pottery basis with white glaze blue decoration. The form is quite elaborate with cartouche, leaves, and applied handles. It is signed underneath with a styled letter which looks like the signature for the Tetteau producer. Early 18th Century Vinaigrette Set, Faience, tin glaze. English? Dutch?
Before soft paste and creamware. There was pottery. I believe this set is English, but it could be Dutch or French. It is very fragile. And the there are no stoppers to the cruets. But nothing is perfect after 250 to possibly 300 years. It is a soft buff color pottery, and the fragile glaze has worn off at the high points. It came with a lot of other18th century pieces. the bottles do stand on their own. But all glaze is gone from the feet. the blue on white is designed to look oriental, and is beautifully painted. 18th/9th Century French Tureen, Bourbon sprig with Quince or Apple on lid
There is no signature or mark. But the quality of craftsmanship and repair are of the late 1700s to 1800s. the flowers are known are Bourbon Sprig, and I believe the fruit on the top is an apple or a quince. the handles are not separated from the sides of the tureen. While the lid is in excellent condition, the body of the tureen has staple repairs and a little fill in on one side, as shown on the photos. Please note that there are chips to the glaze, but not the pottery itself. I believe this goes by faience, majolica, tin glaze, etc. The piece is 9.25 inches tall and 9.25 inches across at the widest. This piece really is lovely. ASK QUESTIONS. BEAUTIFUL 18TH CENTURY CHINESE EXPORT SMALL SAUCE TUREEN WITH STAND
This auction is for a beautiful Chinese Export small sauce tureen and stand. The piece measures about 6 1/2" across and the underplate measures about 8 1/4" across. The set is in wonderful condition for being so early with out chips cracks or restorations. It is all hand painted in a beautiful array of colorful birds and florals. I believe the center bird is a bird of Paradise. There are gold rose shaped handles and finial.
