ANTIQUE 18th early 19th century CHINESE BLUE & WHITE PORCELAIN PLATE
Description This antique circa 18th to early 19th century Chinese blue and white porcelain small plate. Is nicely hand painted with a garden scene of peony, chrysanthemum and gnarled pine tree with bamboo fencing with a double line around the well. The rim has a mesh pattern border, all in under glaze cobalt blue against a very blueish white glaze ground. This lovely dish is unmarked and it has a lot of white particles in the glaze. There is a faint 2.5cm, 1" hairline crack in the rim and some small glaze frits to the underside of the rim and a shallow chip to the inner edge of the foot rim. Otherwise it is in good condition with very minor wear to the inside of the well. Diameter 16.3cm, 6.13/32" Please email us should you have any questions.

Chinese porcelain vase with snow scene landscape this is an extremely lovely vase. I am supposing when I state that it is Chinese. I tried to do some investigating. And only find similar items listed as Chinese. the vase is@ 9.25" tall. the landscape scene surrounds the entire vase, and the detail is extremely fine and raised in places. the only defect that I find, is that the bottom has been cut out. I would imagine this was done in order to convert it to a lamp? A nice old oriental ceramic vase converted into a lamp a long time ago. The lamp has an adjustable socket rod and goes from about 1 foot 8 inches high to 2 feet in height. The lamp is 4.6 inches wide at the wooden base. The ceramic portion of this lamp is 11 inches tall. There is some normal wear from age and use and some chips to the carved wooden lamp base.

I am no expert on Chinese porcelain. But bought this as it looked very nice. I am not sure the exact age, but possibly some experts in Chinese porcelain may know and if you do wish to share your knowledge then I’d be only to happy to hear from you. The marks on the base are as shown in the photos. The vase or jar has been superbly decorated in a dark blue on white with little flowers and other foliage. There ... moreare also two cartouches or panels both showing a figure holding something. Standing before a larger bearded figure, possibly an elder who is standing under the branch of a tree. The vase or jar is hand decorated in blue with oriental scenes and displayed beautifully. It measures in at approx 5” in height and 2 ¾” across the widest part of the body and the base is approx 2” edge to edge. Condition: The jar is old and has some age related wear. Also some discoloration inside at the bottom. This wear is in the form of little glaze nibbles around the foot rim/ base. Around the foot rim/ base there is also some black material fused to the foot-rim which could be ash or similar from the time of firing. There is also a tight hairline to the upper rim edge, which runs down the neck area, this I have tried to photograph. To the rim edge there is also a tiny little fleabite chip or possibly a firing imperfection which is barely noticeable. The base also has some old black ash or similar stuck to it from the time of firing. Still a fine example of Chinese Kangxi porcelain that displays well. A stunning example. Antique Early 1800s Chinese Export Porcelain Mug Nice Size w/Figures Scenic MINT
This is an outstanding Chinese Export mug decorated in figures and scenic designs. This piece came from a high end New York estate. I know the people well that ran this estate and I can say unquestionably that they are experts who specialize primarily in Chinese antiques. I was told that its time period dates from the late 1700's to the early 1800's. This is classic Chinese porcelain at its finest. This mug is made of a thick non see through. Or opaque porcelain material. The designs were hand drawn and painted. The scenic and figural Chinese designs on this piece are as nice as it gets. The use of colors and the thick glazes are outstanding. The colors are bright and clear and there are many of them. Actually, too many to list. You can both see and feel the raised glazes of these colors throughout this piece. Even the top interior ... moreis accented with thick raised hand painted Oriental designs. The fancy handle is gorgeous and resembles many made by Meissen. Did Meissen copy the Chinese or did the Chinese copy Meissen? In any case, it has a lovely twisted handle which connects to the cup in four spots onto four large raised porcelain leaf and berry designs which are trimmed in gold gilt. There is also gold gilt on the back of the handle and in various spots throughout this entire mug. The designs are many and intricate. Some are subtle, such as the mountain areas, and many are thicker, more raised and pronounced. All appear to have been painted over the top of the thick glossy white porcelain. The porcelain itself, was extremely well made. In the very last picture I have shown a normal cup or mug next to this one so that you can get a better idea of its size. As you can see, this is a good size piece which is much larger than todays average mug or cup. I have taken several pictures for your better understanding. A wonderful vibrant Chinese blue on white porcelain plate dating to the Yongzheng Period of China's Qing Dynasty(1723-1735) and salvaged from the Ca Mau shipwreck. An officially recorded piece with Ca Mau sticker and numbers. The plate depicts a very detailed and beautiful scene of an open landscape. In the foreground a bearded elder raises his arm as he gives instruction to a young apprentice. Who bows humbly in acknowledgement. They stand on an island with a willow tree and house to the side. In the background lies an endless expanse of water and mountains, with a prominent Pagoda(tiered building) lying in the center, from which smoke can be seen to slowly rise. A beautiful, romantic scene of Qing China, which would have appealed as much to early 18th Century Europeans as it does to us today. The Junk, or large trade vessel, was capitalizing on the booming business of Chinese Export porcelain. The beginning of the 18th Century saw an insatiable appetite for Chinese ceramics sweep across most of Europe, with coffee and tea drinking a new and popular pass-time for the wealthy and middle-class alike. Archaeologists have discerned that the final hours of the Ca Mau were spent ablaze. As the crew failed to control a fire on the ships deck. She finally sank thirty nautical miles off the Ca Mau peninsula in southern Vietnam, her memory lost until fishermen happened upon her whilst trawling in 1998. Diameter: just under 4 1/2inches. These are quite large and heavy. With a shipping weight of nearly 24 pounds! Each statue measures approximately 18 3/8" tall when displayed on its hand-carved Rosewood base. Other measurements are 8" wide and 5" deep. Bottoms of wood bases retain original CHEN SHIN CO paper labels. Each Rosewood base is uniquely carved to fit one of the dogs. The dogs are glazed in a thick vivid turquoise or cerulean blue. And bottoms are stamped in red ink: CHINA. These are being sold just as-found. Uncleaned, with original warm patina. They display beautifully. One dog has very shallow flakes to the blue glaze. Visible on the cheek eyebrow, and tip of tail, but absolutely no chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. The other dog has damage. As shown. The dog has been broken at the neck, and the head amateurishly reattached and repaired.one tooth is missing) This dog has no other damage than what is mentioned.
