This listing is for a striking and very unusual soup tureen that we believe to be circa 1960s. This unique piece is a lovely shade of aqua spattered with gold metallic paint. The tureen has an ocean theme. With the lid in the shape of a fish with a fin, and fins for the handles on the bowl. The bowl itself is a nice deep dish, perfect for serving! L.Lourioux "Le Faune" Casserole/Tureen-Mallard Duck Head Handle
This auction is for a figural casserole dish or tureen by L. Lourioux of France. It is made of fire-proof porcelain. And features a realistic mallard's head as the handle. It is gilded, and a good bit of the gilding has worn, as you can see from the pictures. But there are no structural issues, the previous owner used it a lot and made many a meal with this dish. There is some staining to the interior, but not too bad. It is unglazed on bottom, and marked as shown. It measures approx 12 1/2 inches in width, is about 7 1/2 inches from front to back, and stands 8 1/2 inches tall with the lid on. Despite the issues mentioned, it still displays well, the head is great, and it probably cooks up a mean casserole! All shipping costs are included in the price. So what you bid is what you pay. This is a magnificent ornate Victorian Soup Tureen bowl Casserole dish that has exquisite form and intricate European transferware decoration throughout. It measures 12 inches(30.48 cm) long by 6.85 inches(17.4 cm) tall to the top of the ornate handle by 10 inches(25.4 cm) deep. It has some printed marks on the bottom indicating Cologne. Which could mean from Italy, Germany, or France. I believe it is from the early 1800s. Here's what I stated about the beautiful bowl's condition: A crack line in one corner of the exterior bottom bowl that faintly goes through to the interior. But is completely self contained and no leakage or seepage from it. Glaze loss on bottom ridges of bowl, but they are not chips, just discolored glaze losses. This rare antique tureen or covered casserole is marked on the base as shown in last pic. I believe it is early Staffordshire ware produced around the 1850's- 1870's. during the Victorian era. The scenic pattern is called Delaware. A good sized piece. It measures approximately 9 1/2" x nearly 8" tall. I consider this piece to be in very good condition for its age but it does have a couple of issues. As you can see in the pics there is some underglaze crazing and spotting inside the bowl. And the lid has ... morea repaired spot. a small piece broke off the edge and was glued back on at some time in the past. Although the repair is old. It was well-done and is not noticeable from the outside unless you look for it. You can see it well in the close-up in the next to last pic. Please do examine the pictures carefully. There is a mark on the bottom that I cannot identify but I think it is either Kutani or Nikko(I would appreciate input on this) This casserole has a beautiful design of purple wisteria outlined in gold. Covered tureen/casserole by Wood& Sons of England. This pattern. Old Bow" was based on Japanese Kakiyemon pottery, with the oriental influence seen in the stylized landscape. Quails are also part of the design. The pattern is blue on while, with yellow highlights around the rim. Handles are squared. Size is about 5.75" from base to top of cover handle, and 3" from base ro rim. The tureen opening is 7.5" Wood& Sons made this pattern from 1912-1930 and it was designed by the firm's art director. Wood& Sons mark, with pattern name and"Kakiyemon" on base. Excellent condition. Also have set of 4"Old Bow" plates listed.

Geometric designs continue around the edge of the lid, the outside edge and base of the casserole itself. Even the handles are decorated. The manufacturers' maker mark and registry number(transfer and embossed) are located on the underside of the lid and impressed on the base of the casserole. Antique Vintage Porcelain Swallow Blue Bird Covered Tureen Casserole Dish
This listing is for an antique/vintage porcelain covered casserole or tureen. The casserole is marked on the bottom but i cannot make out what it says. See photos. The casserole has a beautiful pattern of blue birds, flower baskets and roses. There is also gold highlighting to the handles, lid and bottom edge. Please view all photos as they are considered to be an important part of the description. Condition: There are no chips. Cracks or major damage. There are a few spots in where the pattern transfer didn't take. Gold highlighting is a little worn in spots. Could use a good cleaning which i will leave to the new owner.
