Hi! Thank you for visiting my auction! To me some of my enjoyment in selling antiques is learning the history of a piece. The history gives them life. This is a"Martha Washington Oval Vegetable Dish" from French China Company. It is very fine. Very fragile china that was made 87 years ago. It was a monogrammed wedding gift, with the initial"L" on the lid and bowl amongst Victoria swag and roses. It has gold accents along the edges and on the handles. There is much crazing and some yellowing, due to its advanced age. Sometime in the past a portion was broken near one handle, and it was mended, but there is a tiny chip missing(see picture) The dish measures almost 12" from handle to handle, and 3" tall, without the lid. For historical background: The French China Co. came into being i n east Liverpool. Ohio, in ... more1899, then moved to Sebring, Ohio where it joined with other china manufacturing companies under the name Sebring Manufacturing Company in 1916. It was deemed the worlds largest producer of fine China at that time. The companies under the Sebring umbrella became American Chinaware Co. in 1929, but then the Great Depression came along and the company went bust. Antique China COVERED SOUP TUREEN Maidenhair Ferns
This lovely soup tureen with lid has an embossed pattern trimming the rim. The handle, and the feet. The scalloped edge of the lid and base makes for a delicate appearance, as do the green ferns and berries that adorn it and the soft fluted shape of the vessel. It is in excellent condition, but for a small 1/4 inch chip on the rim of the lid(see photo) From tips of handles, it is 11.5" long. It is about 8" at the widest, and 4" tall. The lid, with the finial/ handle adds about 3" more to the height. I also have available the large sugar bowl that matches this tureen, though without the lid; please send me a note if you are interested and want me to post it.

2 Rare Matching Antique White Ironstone Covered Vegetable Bowls EB Stone China
This auction is for a Rare Matching Pair of Antique White Ironstone Covered Oval Vegetable Bowls made by EB Stone China in the mid to late 1800s. They are in good condition especially for their age. Both lids have crazing as is expected from ironstone of this era. One point of one Body Handle has a small chip(see last photo) One prong of that same handle also has a hairline(see photo 11) The handle is solid. There are no other chips or cracks in the two pieces. It is very hard to find matching covered vegetable bowls in this condition from this era. The bottom of both bowls are marked with a seven pointed star backstamp with"E.B. Stone China" inside. With the lids on. Each bowl measures 6 1/4 inches tall and they are about 11 1/2 inches long. Up for auction is an antique. Vintage white tourine with handled lid. It is stamped"Royal Stone China, Wedgewood& C o. There are no chips or cracks. But there are a few dark spots which look and feel to be places where the pottery was not completely covered in glaze. These do not detract from the beauty of the piece. The dish is about 13 inches long from handle tip to tip, and about 7 inches wide. The piece stands about 7.25 inches tall. It is a gracefully curved oval shape with a small footed base.

Fabulous mid 1800's all white opaque stone china lidded tureen or serving dish by Anthony Shaw& Son. Its design has a deco look with the angular tab handles decorated with a molded fan like design which matches the design on the lid each side of the filled loop finial. A versatile all white. The bottom dish measures just under 10" across the handles and the interior rim is just about 7 and 5/8" diameter. Overall height including the lid is just approaching 6" tall. The condition is fantastic with no chips, cracks or repairs. I noticed a few scattered very small discoloration spots, mainly on the inside bottom of the dish. They really are barely visible so I expect they can't be seen in the photos. There are a few insignificant scratches and some light crazing on the lid which you may see in the photos. Antique Tureen Blue & White Porcelain Burgess & Co. Royal China Early 1900s
This is such a gorgeous piece of fine historic china. It was made by Burgess& Co. A New Jersey pottery company that only produced its wares from 1903 on and, apparently, for a very short period thereafter. Burgess& Co. pottery is quite rare today. The company was originally known as Burgess and Campbell until Mr. Campbell was no longer a part of the company in 1903. The back reads, in blue, Royal China Burgess& Co. surrounding a crown. It can be assumed. Then, that this piece dates from the very early 1900s. I would call it a vegetable dish. It measures 9-1/2" not including the handles) X 7" but the actual capacity is not very large as there is a pedestal base. The inside of the bowl slopes downward towards the base. The cover handle and handles on both sides of the bowl are intricate, ornate and very beautiful. There ... moreis a crack on one end of the bowl. Another smaller one on the top rim and a more substantial one on the bottom as shown in the photo but these almost don't seem to be damage to the pottery itself, but flaws associated with age. There is substantial discoloration and crazing and a couple of very small spots on the cover where the glaze seems to have worn off. This would be a lovely piece for someone who collects blue and white antique chinaware because of its graceful shape and size as well as the less common pattern. This was a piece I had on display in my own home for many years but the blue and white phase has passed. It is probably well over 100 years old and it does show signs of age. There is also some damage as noted above. It is being sold as is. This will be sent insured because of its fragility and difficulty to replace. The shipping cost reflects that. This is a beautiful antique white ironstone tureen with lid. It is marked"Ironstone China. J&G Meakin, Hanley England, and has a crest with a lion and a unicorn. I believe that this mark dates to about 1890. The tureen measures approx. 10.5" from handle to handle, 6.5" wide, and 6" tall. It has a lovely shape and elegant design on the top handle and the two side handles. It has overall crazing, and some light staining on the inside of the lid that does not show on the outside. There is a chip on the lid and two tight hairlines on the lid. The bottom has three evenly spaced marks on the inside of the bowl that look like they might be stilt marks, and two glaze bumps under the handle that do not show unless you flip it upside down. A fabulous circa 1894 white ironstone china handled covered tureen. Marked on the underside with a lion and unicorn surrounding a crowned-crest and"Thomas Hughes. It also has an imprint of"4. It measures approximately 8 3/4" 10 1/2" including the handles) x 6 1/4" x 3" to the top of the rim and about 5 1/2" to the top of the knob. The knob is signature Thomas Hughes. As is the decoration on the handles. Typical for its almost 120 years of life. The tureen has crazing, some potter's inclusions, a small hairline crack along the inside edge of the footed pedestal, which does not seem to affect the integrity of the piece, and some surface scratching.
