There are a few very minor discrepancies such as a couple of small flea bites. A small dark spot inside the tureen with very, very slight yellowing and a little ware on the base of the underplate and tureen's pedestal, as to be expected. Up For Sale: IMPERIAL COCKSON& SEDDON#7 IRONSTONE CHINA COVERED SOUP TUREEN- This piece has some general wear. The inside rim has some pitting, and while it's smooth, looks like it could have been sent to repair, if it was repaired the inside rim was professionally done. Handles have no chips, but small brown dots on a few places. It measures 13 x 8, and is marked and stamped. There is some tiny pitting marks and one side of rim outer has small amount of browning. I can't find any defects and is a beautiful piece, this was found at estate by a collector.

Rare Hope & CARTER Imperial Ironstone FACE Handled Covered Bowl TUREEN
Purchased at an estate auction. I looked in a number of books and across the internet and was unable to find this pattern so my expectation is it is extremely rare and old. It is a Covered Bowl by Hope and Carter Imperial Ironstone. The bowl and lid handles are a ladies face. I expect this is from the early 1800's late 1700's but I am no expert. There are glazing cracks in the bowl and the lid is considerably lighter than the bottom bowl. I would expect the bowl was cooked in and the lid was not on the bowl. Any information you might have about this bowl would be appreciated.

Antique Imperial Ironstone China Cockson Chetwynd Footed Covered Casserole Lion Unicorn English Marking on Bottom. Approx 7-1/4" in height to top of lid. Approx 3-3/4" in height to top of bowl10-1/4" X 7" across top, approx 12" from handle to handle, approx 2-3/4" depth in the middle, approx 4" X 6" across bottom. There are some signs of age/use/wear. There is crazing throughout the casserole bowl. Some discoloration in areas. Some wear where the lid meets the bottom on both lid rim and bottom rim. A few brown spots in the casserole bowl. A few air bubble marks. There is some wear on the edges of handles. All of which are shown in pictures. The casserole is not perfect, it has been used and does have quite a bit of age to it.
