This dish is just under 12 inches long and about 5 inches at widest point and not quite 2 inches tall. But I cannot decipher the mark so I will not guess. I usually see a rectangular molded embossed mark with the impressed initials or name of the manufacturer on a very nice piece of porcelain and this is one of them. Unfortunately. The ladle did not survive but the cover and the bowl are in great shape. There is a hairline crack visible at the last image at the bottom of the bowl. This is a large piece that can definitely make a service for 6 people in a table. Also, the transfer design is inside the bowl as well. Antique Porcelain Covered Tureen Vegetable Dish~Blue Transferware Border~Handles
ID 2013 Description: This auction is for a Very Early English Porcelain Tureen/Covered Vegetable Dish with a soft stepped pedestal. There are no markings. But there are numbers, handwritten in gold on the backside. The tureen is 5 3/4" high to top of the Lid Knob. It is 10 3/4" from Tab Handle to Tab Handle. The bowl is 8 1/4" in diameter. With the LID OFF. The dish is 3" high. We have found NO chips or nicks or cracks. But we do see very light crazing, and gold loss on the Lid and bands, and handles. There are grease or butter stains to inside of the bowl. But this is not considered a flaw, but a characteristic of old china. There are also ash pops from the kiln firing, and kiln marks on the bottom of the soft pedestal. The Blue Transferware Border is on both pieces. Antique Victorian Porcelain Soup Tureen Staffordshire Dish Transferware Bowl HTF This is a magnificent ornate Victorian Soup Tureen bowl Casserole dish by Staffordshire in England that has exquisite form and intricate European transferware decoration throughout. It measures 12 inches(30.48 cm) long by 6.85 inches(17.4 cm) tall to the top of the ornate handle by 10 inches(25.4 cm) deep. It has some printed marks on the bottom indicating Cologne. I believe it is from the early 1800s. Here's what I stated about the beautiful bowl's condition: A crack line in one corner of the exterior bottom bowl that faintly goes through to the interior. Gorgeous figural elephant handles with an Asian decorative lid handle in the shape of two birds feet and decorated with a lovely brown transfer ware. Trimmed in gold gilt. Nice! It measures approx. 15 1/2" x 9 3/4" x 8 1/2" and is in good condition. We found a hairline crack on the outside of the piece with an"X" shape to it. The long line goes through to the inside of the tureen. One foot also has a chip and there is wear to the gold gilt trim and painted elephants. Please see all our photos for specifics!
