Situated in Amicable Street and Great Woodland Street, they were succeeded by Wedgwood& Co, the head of the firm being Enoch Wedgwood. The goods produced were the higher classes of earthenware. The tureen is 8 1/2" b 6" at the rim and it is 6 1/2" high to the top of the lid. The under dish is 8" by 5 1/2" the ladle is 7" long. They all have nice blue flowers. The under dish and the tureen are marked with impressed Wedgwood and Co- s tandard name-mark used alone or incorporated in printed marks. Printed blue mark that dates the set c 1890- 1906 There is one small chip on the lid of the tureen and two small chips on the ladle. Otherwise the set is free of chips, cracks or crazing. Top handle of the tureen, and top lip of the tureen the listing also includes the ladle. Which I find to be extraordinary due to the age of this wonderful piece This tureen came from a Michigan estate and was treated with respect. rarely used. the piece is 12" wide at it's widest point. 7 1/4" wide, and 7" tall. the pattern of the piece is unknown. But is very similiar to the John Maddock& sons Brown Oakland pattern, with the addition of red and yellow coloration on the florals. with the exception of some wear on the gold embellishment. The tureen is in very good condition. I see no evidence of chips or cracks. this beautiful piece needs a new home and we would love to work with you to ship it to someone who would love it as much as we do. Manufactured in England in the blue version of the antique"Empire" pattern Ceramic Art Potteries china footed tureen with lid, and serving plate but no ladle. It's a beautiful blend of blue scrolls, ribbons, and swags on a milk-white surface. Excellent condition with no scratches, cracks, chips, or crazing. The pattern is strong and the glaze still shines. I have closely inspected all pieces and have found a few minor flaws. Overall. Everything looks stunning and is certainly a collection worthy piece. Underplate: On the underplate there is two small chips under one of the handles. There is also a small hairline crack under the other handle. There is some minor crazing and signs of use such as a few surface scratches on the front of the plate. Overall it looks wonderful and has a shiny finish. Tureen Lid: The lid is also in great shape with minimal wear. It does not have any chips but I did notice one 1" long hairline crack that has developed over the years. This 19th Century tureen and stork pattern is most likely from the 1880s, when American ironstone makers started making octagonal-shaped tureens to take over sales of English imports. ANTIQUE ENGLISH EMPIRE STAFFORDSHIRE ART POTTERY BLUE BAND DODECAGON TUREEN BOWL
Up for auction is an Empire Porcelain Company Limited of Stoke on Trent. Staffordshire, England(Formerly Stoke, England 1896 to 1967) White Glazed Porcelain, 12 Sided(Dodecagon) Art Deco, Staffordshire Art Pottery Tureen or Serving Bowl with its Lid, Featuring Wide Bands of Colbalt Blue Trim and Gold Trim in"Excellent Plus" Used Condition, Date Coded as being Manufactured in August of 1932. This Art Deco tureen or covered dish is absolutely stunning with it's wide band cobalt blue trim and a bit of gold trim to go along with its dodecagon(12 sided) shape. It has no chips. Cracks, outside scratches, scuffs or repairs of any kind and I'm grading it as being in"Excellent Plus" condition because there are just a few minor glaze crazing lines on the bottom of the tureen and some of it's gold trim has worn away over ... morethe years as well. Glaze crazing can be very normal with any glazed pottery or porcelain which has some age to it. Worn away gold trim is also normal and when it comes to the gold trim most pottery factories applied it over the glaze so over time it can rub off and wear away. If you use the"Supersize" and"Zoom" features I've provided with the pictures you'll be able to see where some of the gold is now very faint or completely missing. Interestingly enough if you"Super Size" picture 11 showing you a close up view of the maker's mark you can see one of the glaze crazing lines going across the ink stamp mark and please remember the glaze crazing is isolated to the bottom only. There are also a few factory flaws which consist of tiny dark specks within the white glaze in a few places and this can be considered normal for white glazed pottery from this era. Lastly if you look at picture 12 you can see a small and very faded blue cloud which is within the glaze and probably got there when the decorating department applied the cobalt blue bands. Please also note that inside the bowl and on the backside of the lid you can see three discolore

STAFFORDSHIRE ART POTTERY BLUE BAND 12 SIDE ANTIQUE ART DECO TUREEN BOWL 1932 A+
Up for auction is a Marked Empire Porcelain Company Limited of Stoke on Trent. Staffordshire, England(Formerly Stoke, England 1896 to 1967) White Glazed Porcelain Pottery, Dodecagon(12 Sided) Art Deco, Pottery, Antique Tureen or Serving Bowl with its Lid, Featuring Wide Bands of Colbalt Blue Trim and Gold Trim in"Excellent Plus" Used Condition, Date Coded as being Manufactured in August of 1932. This Art Deco tureen or covered dish is absolutely stunning with it's wide band cobalt blue trim and a bit of gold trim to go along with its dodecagon(12 sided) shape. It has no chips. Cracks, outside scratches, scuffs or repairs of any kind and I'm grading it as being in"Excellent Plus" condition because there are just a few minor glaze crazing lines on the bottom of the tureen and some of it's gold trim has worn away ... moreover the years as well. Glaze crazing can be very normal with any glazed pottery or porcelain which has some age to it. Worn away gold trim is also normal and when it comes to the gold trim most pottery factories applied it over the glaze so over time it can rub off and wear away. If you use the"Supersize" and"Zoom" features I've provided with the pictures you'll be able to see where some of the gold is now very faint or completely missing. Interestingly enough if you"Super Size" picture 11 showing you a close up view of the maker's mark you can see one of the glaze crazing lines going across the ink stamp mark and please remember the glaze crazing is isolated to the bottom only. There are also a few factory flaws which consist of tiny dark specks within the white glaze in a few places and this can be considered normal for white glazed pottery from this era. Lastly if you look at picture 12 you can see a small and very faded blue cloud which is within the glaze and probably got there when the decorating department applied the cobalt blue bands. This piece contains so many of the elements that have made flow blue popular and enduring thru generations. Although beautiful. It is sold"as is. I have tried to show the wear and tear that has occurred around the rim. There is one very small chip on the outside of the rim, but it is practically unnoticeable with the bleed of the blue beyond the depth of the chip. The photo accentuates the chip a little more than is visually seen in person. Actual casserole without handles measures about 10" long x 7" wide x 2 3/4" deep Very Nice Vintage Condition! I find no major chips or cracks. I'm offering for sale and considering offers for a Marked Empire Porcelain Company Limited of Stoke on Trent. Staffordshire, England(Formerly Stoke, England 1896 to 1967) White Glazed Porcelain Pottery, Dodecagon(12 Sided) Art Deco, Pottery, Antique Tureen or Serving Bowl with its Lid, Featuring Wide Bands of Colbalt Blue Trim and Gold Trim in"Excellent Plus" Used Condition, Date Coded as being Manufactured in August of 1932. This Art Deco tureen or covered dish is absolutely stunning with it's wide band cobalt blue trim and a bit of gold trim to go along with its dodecagon(12 sided) shape. It has no chips. Cracks, outside scratches, scuffs or repairs of any kind and I'm grading it as being in"Excellent Plus" condition because there are just a few minor glaze crazing lines on the bottom of the tureen and some ... moreof it's gold trim has worn away over the years as well. Glaze crazing can be very normal with any glazed pottery or porcelain which has some age to it. Worn away gold trim is also normal and when it comes to the gold trim most pottery factories applied it over the glaze so over time it can rub off and wear away. If you use the"Supersize" and"Zoom" features I've provided with the pictures you'll be able to see where some of the gold is now very faint or completely missing. Interestingly enough if you"Super Size" picture 11 showing you a close up view of the maker's mark you can see one of the glaze crazing lines going across the ink stamp mark and please remember the glaze crazing is isolated to the bottom only. There are also a few factory flaws which consist of tiny dark specks within the white glaze in a few places and this can be considered normal for white glazed pottery from this era. Lastly if you look at picture 12 you can see a small and very faded blue cloud which is within the glaze and probably got there when the decorating department applied the cobalt blue bands. Or perhaps someone has a bottom that fits. Or even better, matches! A potter could craft a bottom. In either event. This is probably late 1800s, early 1900s- and the painting is in good condition. Its shape is oblong oval; its dimensions are 10-3/8" across by 8-5/8; the depth of the cover is slightly over 1" from flange to top. The inside of the flange is 9" x 7-1/4" the flange itself is a little uneven. Antique 1815-1830 Blue Transferware JRW Ridgway INDIA TEMPLE Bowl Domed Lid Tureen Staffordshire. Description An outstanding example of John and William Ridgway(JWR) blue transferware in the sought after"India Temple" pattern. Two parts-base bowl and domed lid. When together. It measures 11" wide handle to handle and 6" tall. Stone China. The hexagon shaped bowl features two gold gilt handles and a transfer image on the inside of the bowl. The domed lid is also a hexagon with a gold glit floriform knop and the India Temple transfer design. India Temple is a Chinoiserie pattern. Mark on base of 19th century English Staffordshire brothers John and William Ridgway who worked together and used this mark from 1815-1830. CONDITION: The fact that this piece of earthernware exists in this nice condition today attests to the very ... morehigh quality of the work of the Ridgway brothers during that period. The domed lid is really clean. All I can find is a tiny loss on the side as shown in photo and a few some little black marks in a few spots which appear to be under the glaze. On the bowl. I see one very small hairline on the edge as shown on photo and a two other line marks that looks more that surface blemishes in the making(see photos to judge for yourself) than cracks. On the underside of the bowl, I see a few small blemishes as shown in photos and a small loss along the the rim. This earthenware bowl has the picture transfer of Trematon Castle in Cornwall on both sides of the tureen and in the middle. The tureen has a decorative border on both the inside and outside and at the bottom. It is 7 3/4" from handle to handle and 3 3/4" across the middle. Antique Tureen Blue & White Porcelain Burgess & Co. Royal China Early 1900s
This is such a gorgeous piece of fine historic china. It was made by Burgess& Co. A New Jersey pottery company that only produced its wares from 1903 on and, apparently, for a very short period thereafter. Burgess& Co. pottery is quite rare today. The company was originally known as Burgess and Campbell until Mr. Campbell was no longer a part of the company in 1903. The back reads, in blue, Royal China Burgess& Co. surrounding a crown. It can be assumed. Then, that this piece dates from the very early 1900s. I would call it a vegetable dish. It measures 9-1/2" not including the handles) X 7" but the actual capacity is not very large as there is a pedestal base. The inside of the bowl slopes downward towards the base. The cover handle and handles on both sides of the bowl are intricate, ornate and very beautiful. There ... moreis a crack on one end of the bowl. Another smaller one on the top rim and a more substantial one on the bottom as shown in the photo but these almost don't seem to be damage to the pottery itself, but flaws associated with age. There is substantial discoloration and crazing and a couple of very small spots on the cover where the glaze seems to have worn off. This would be a lovely piece for someone who collects blue and white antique chinaware because of its graceful shape and size as well as the less common pattern. This was a piece I had on display in my own home for many years but the blue and white phase has passed. It is probably well over 100 years old and it does show signs of age. Antique J.Ridgway "Warwick" Blue Transferware Tureen Set -1830-55 -Staffordshire
3 piece set- antique blue and white transferware tureen. Lid and underplate. Heavy ironstone, made by John Ridgway, one of the famous potters of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, circa 1830-1855. The tureen is marked with the maker, J. Ridgway, and the pattern, Warwick, and is impressed with the English registrations. Underplate& lid are unmarked) The pattern name is"Warwick" which depicts the famous Warwick Castle and the River Avon. Beautiful blue color which has flowed somewhat, similar to flow blue. Underplate and tureen have twig and leaf shaped handles. Finial/knob of lid is in the form of a large flower bud. Measurements are as follows: Underplate is 15 5/8" long by 13 1/2" wide. Tureen/bowl is 12 1/4" by 10 1/2" across top. Footed base of tureen is 6 1/4" diameter; and it is 3 3/4" ... moretall without lid. Lid is 8 5/8" diameter at bottom and approximately 4 1/2" tall to top of finial. When put together, the total height is approximately 8 1/2" A large, stunning centerpiece for your table. Condition: Underplate has only minor wear and some light brownish discoloration on white area. And some light crazing. No chips, cracks or repairs. Tureen/bowl: Has a small chip on the underside of one handle; a couple of tiny fleabites on the top edge; one very small chip on bottom of base; some crazing and some brownish discoloration on white areas. Lid has a small chip underneath edge. A few light brown spots on underside. The flower bud finial has a stress crack(may have been a manufacturing flaw) on each side but does not go all the way around knob. Finial seems to be firmly attached. Wood & Sons England - Madras - Flow Blue w/ Gold Accents - Large Antique Tureen
This listing is for antique Wood& Sons porcelain footed tureen with lid. But no laddle manufactured in England in the flow blue version of the"Madras" pattern. It a beautiful flow blue pattern with gold accents on a milk-white embossed surface with scalloped and beaded edging. I was able to date the bottom stamp to between 1891-1907. The pattern is in exceptional condition with no signs of wear or staining. The gold is very strong across the entire piece with the exception of one of the handles. One handle has very strong gold accents while the other handle shows virtually no gold at all as can be seen in the pictures. This piece was acquired at a local antique auction. The tureen and lid are in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks, damage, repairs, or noticeable scratches. The pattern is strong and the glaze still shines ... morebeautifully, however there is an extremely fine and very light crazing across the entire lid and bowl. It is very faint and can only be seen in some of the pictures even though the crazing is across the entire piece. The only other imperfection I found is a small nick in the rim of the bowl that can be seen in the last two pictures. This tureen measures about 12 inches wide from handle to handle and it's about 7 inches tall with the lid in place. This is a beautiful example of antique English flow blue china.
