John Maddock and Sons The tureen ... moreis an overall off white in color with a wonderful soft brown design of vines with florals and leaves. the florals are embellished with red or yellow coloration to enhance the piece gold embellishments have been addes to the handles. Top handle of the tureen, and top lip of the tureen the listing also includes the ladle. Which I find to be extraordinary due to the age of this wonderful piece This tureen came from a Michigan estate and was treated with respect. rarely used. the piece is 12" wide at it's widest point. 7 1/4" wide, and 7" tall. the pattern of the piece is unknown. But is very similiar to the John Maddock& sons Brown Oakland pattern, with the addition of red and yellow coloration on the florals. with the exception of some wear on the gold embellishment. The tureen is in very good condition. I see no evidence of chips or cracks. this beautiful piece needs a new home and we would love to work with you to ship it to someone who would love it as much as we do. Maddocks stamp is circa 1904. Very simple delicate blue flowers, they remind me of forget-me-nots, but we couldn't say for sure that they are. It measures 11" from handle to handle. Up for auction is an antique. Vintage white tourine with handled lid. It is stamped"Royal Stone China, Wedgewood& C o. There are no chips or cracks. But there are a few dark spots which look and feel to be places where the pottery was not completely covered in glaze. These do not detract from the beauty of the piece. The dish is about 13 inches long from handle tip to tip, and about 7 inches wide. The piece stands about 7.25 inches tall. It is a gracefully curved oval shape with a small footed base.

Antique Tureen Blue & White Porcelain Burgess & Co. Royal China Early 1900s
This is such a gorgeous piece of fine historic china. It was made by Burgess& Co. A New Jersey pottery company that only produced its wares from 1903 on and, apparently, for a very short period thereafter. Burgess& Co. pottery is quite rare today. The company was originally known as Burgess and Campbell until Mr. Campbell was no longer a part of the company in 1903. The back reads, in blue, Royal China Burgess& Co. surrounding a crown. It can be assumed. Then, that this piece dates from the very early 1900s. I would call it a vegetable dish. It measures 9-1/2" not including the handles) X 7" but the actual capacity is not very large as there is a pedestal base. The inside of the bowl slopes downward towards the base. The cover handle and handles on both sides of the bowl are intricate, ornate and very beautiful. There ... moreis a crack on one end of the bowl. Another smaller one on the top rim and a more substantial one on the bottom as shown in the photo but these almost don't seem to be damage to the pottery itself, but flaws associated with age. There is substantial discoloration and crazing and a couple of very small spots on the cover where the glaze seems to have worn off. This would be a lovely piece for someone who collects blue and white antique chinaware because of its graceful shape and size as well as the less common pattern. This was a piece I had on display in my own home for many years but the blue and white phase has passed. It is probably well over 100 years old and it does show signs of age. There is also some damage as noted above. It is being sold as is. This will be sent insured because of its fragility and difficulty to replace. The shipping cost reflects that. This is a very unique piece of John Maddock serving wear. It is a covered Tureen serving dish. It has a green fern/flower pattern on it and is high lighted with gold trim. This Vintage Antique Soup Tureen is from the renowned Royal Staffordshire Pottery. In 1896 Arther J. Wilkinson took over this pottery. The works at first produced earthenware for the home market. But later operations concentrated on white graniteware for the United States~and although this is Ironstone it does explain the pattern being called Valley Forge ~. The pottery was managed by Colley Shorter. An affluent Victorian, and his brother Guy. Colley, whose full name was Arthur Colley Austin Shorter(1882-1963) He moved in exclusive circles and had a taste for antiques and fine furnishings; which shows in the Classical lines of this Soup Tureen. His second wife was the ceramic designer Clarice Cliff. This Large 13" long. 7" wide and 5 1/2" deep Tureen will hold any of your Holiday Soups or other Delights. With a lip on each ... moreside it makes it quite easy to pick up when full to set on it's matching Underplate. The Ladle is ample for bowl filling and with the Lid to keep it hot it will be outstanding on your Holiday Table. Please see the photos since there are 2 very small nicks on the bowl. It measures approx. 15 1/2" x 9 3/4" x 8 1/2" and is in good condition. We found a hairline crack on the outside of the piece with an"X" shape to it. Antique Burgess and Goddard Royal Patent Ironstone Soup Tureen
For your consideration. We are offering a magnificent Burgess and Goddard Royal Patent Ironstone soup tureen circa 1840-1890's. This beautiful piece is in excellent condition. The embellishment on the tureen is braided ropes tied in bows. I've tried to show the detail in my pictures. The mark is clear. There are no chips or cracks and very little wear. The tureen measures approximately 13 1/2" long. 10 1/2" tall with an approximate 7" opening at the widest area. The ladle is in excellent condition. No chips or cracks. I do not know absolutely that it is the original ladle but it certainly matches and I feel it is most likely original. Please enjoy looking at the pictures of this beautiful piece. Here is a beautiful large soup tureen with lid and platter. It was made by Royal Worcester The color is a robins egg blue on creamy white. The platter has a Latin inscription that translates: Bravely Faithfully Successfully" in a banner under a dragon It has an S date letter for 1881. It has black as the second neutral color. The tureen has an U date letter for 1883. It is the same color blue but has gold as the second neutral color. Platter measures about 17" by 13.5" The tureen measures 15" handle to handle by 8.75" wide. The condition is very good. No chips or cracks. The tureen has scratches inside from utensil use. This is a rare antique Royal Blue China tureen/serving bowl with lid made by Burgess& Campbell in New Jersey. Dates from the late 1800s to early 1900s. Mr. Campbell left the company in 1903(which was thereafter known Burgess& Co. So this piece dates to the period prior. Beautiful blue flower and leaf pattern. Intricate handles. Very good condition with no chips or structural cracks. Glaze cracking which is typical for porcelain this age. Tiny spot of discoloration on edge of the lid. Overall. This is a very old mid 1800's large serving platter measuring about 12 by 18 inches. It has no damage other than the expected sign of its extreme age which is crazing throughout and some darkening. It is marked on the back Arlington Waterloo potteries trademark T&R Boote England registration number 208976. The design on the rim of the platter is floral with mainly blues and yellows on brown. This would be gorgeous as a serving platter or mounted in on a wall or in a china cabinet if you love antiques.

This Maddock& Co tureen should date pre-1906 before" sons" was added in 1906. It has no chips. Nicks or cracks. There is wear on the gold, esp the handles as would be expected on a 100 + yr old piece. There is some pitting with stains mostly on the inside. Overall the piece is very good. The quilted pattern on the lid adds an elegant touch. The dish without the lid measures 6 3/4" x 6 3/4" at the rim. The base stands2 3/4" high to the rim without the lid and about 5" with it.
