This is a lovely Antique English Edwardian Blue& White Tureen& Plate by Crown Pottery. It is marked Ceramic Art Co Crown Potteries in the Empire pattern and is in good condition. From the registration mark. This dates to 1906. Manufactured in England in the blue version of the antique"Empire" pattern Ceramic Art Potteries china footed tureen with lid, and serving plate but no ladle. It's a beautiful blend of blue scrolls, ribbons, and swags on a milk-white surface. Excellent condition with no scratches, cracks, chips, or crazing. The pattern is strong and the glaze still shines. Listing is for a 19th century Chinese export tureen. It was clearly intended for the European market. Adopting a very Staffordshire type of scene to decorate the piece. The item measures 7 1/2" x 4 1/4" wide x 5" and is in very good condition with the exception of a piece missing from the scroll handle as seen in photo#9. There is also a small fissure created during firing that can be seen in one of the top corners of the piece. This is a very old"Chinese" export porcelain covered tureen. It is 8 sided. This tureen is 9" X 10" square and the bottom is 2-1/4" deep. The piece is 6" tall overall. This is export porcelain that was made for the European trade in the 1850's and is often mistakenly called"Lowestoft" It has gilt edging-some of which is faded from being handled. It is in excellent condition. As you can see. It is basically white with shades of blue. There are 2 different designs on the sides as shown. The bottom is plain white. Soup tureen blue/white Chipped but repaired would be a great addition to collect
Blue& White made in Japan Trimont Transferwear? There are 2 chips in the rim of the tureen. I tried to show them in the pictures. The lid and plate that the tureen rests on have no damage other than expected crazing. There is no ladle. The plate is 9 1/2" long and 6 3/4" wide The tureen with the lid measures 9" long. 6 1/4" wide and approximately 7" tall. Happy Shopping! Items come from many different homes and sales. Lovely Blue and White Tureen ~ Serving Dish with Lid Floral
This is a lovely old serving tureen or serving dish with lid in blue and white floral pattern. It has a nice sheen- no crazing- but there are 2 chips- one on the to edge of the lid and one on the bottom/underside of the lid. Please zoom on the pictures to see close details of these chips. This dish has a lovely and unusual shape and nic colors- photos do not do it justice. This dish measures 10" x 7 1/2" for the lid and the bowl itself measures 12" handle to handle and it is about 3" deep. There is a little number"58" or"68" pressed into the bottom of the bowl and looks like some words pressed into the bottom which I cannot read. And well as a little blue mark which I cannot identify. Offered for sale is a rare Hicks& Meigh tureen. Pattern No. 9. Hicks& Meigh produced stone china from 1806-1822. This attractive fine Staffordshire English tureen is one of Hicks& Meigh's earliest marked pieces. It is expertly printed with a delightful chinoiserie transfer blue and white pattern known as the Exotic Birds. The tur een with lid is 13 inches tall. Handle to handle is 14" The bowl is 7 1/2" tall,without handles is 11 in across point to point. Lid width is 9 1/2" point to point. Inside of lid says Stone China#9 same as on bottom of bowl with the Royal Coat of Arms. No cracks or repairs. One point on the base rim as an old chip-as shown in the photo. Maker: Hicks and Meigh Pattern: Number 9 Tureen c1806-1822 Number 9 as a pattern name. Barely does justice to this energetic design, which is probably ... morewhy it also known as Exotic Birds and Flowers and Exotic Birds, but they are later given names and Hicks and Meigh were quite content with the factory name of No 9. Blue printed backstamp, Royal Coat of Arms, with Stone China beneath and No 9 beneath that. An English expert in Hicks and Meigh told me the holes in the rim are decorative-could have been used to vent steam. Etc. He said this large tureen would have been used for non-liquid items(vegetables, etc) as the lid has no hole. For a blue and white lover. Or a real antique china buff, this tureen is a prize winner! In 44 years of the antique business, I have never had a 200 year old tureen in such good shape plus being beautiful! Oriental Asian Vietnamese Ceramic Cobalt Blue & White Soup Tureen Centerpiece
These lovely. Unique hand-made, hand-painted soup tureen and coordinating plate were found in a tiny Vietnamese pottery shop over 20 years ago. I cannot vouch for their Vietnamese or Asian heritage although it is easy to see they are hand-made and hand-painted. As shown in the photos, there are no maker's marks. At over nine pounds, they are quite heavy ceramic and are dishwasher safe. There is a half-inch superficial chip out of sight on the bottom of the soup tureen. The plate is 12" in diameter. We believe that this may be a beautiful white and blue porcelain soup tureen with an attached underplate. The elegant handles are pinstriped in blue and are encircled with a round beadlike ring that is embellished with moriage beading. We are not sure if this is an antique or not. There are definitely hand painted elements in the design. The base of this item gives the impression that it may have fit on top of something else. We do not know if the logo type artwork on the front would indicate the manufacturer or brand or not. There are no markings on the base. The rim has an inward lip that suggests that this item did have a lid at one time. Measures approximately 5-3/4" tall. 7-1/2" across the underplate and 4-1/2" across the rim. Very good condition. Antique Tureen Blue & White Porcelain Burgess & Co. Royal China Early 1900s
This is such a gorgeous piece of fine historic china. It was made by Burgess& Co. A New Jersey pottery company that only produced its wares from 1903 on and, apparently, for a very short period thereafter. Burgess& Co. pottery is quite rare today. The company was originally known as Burgess and Campbell until Mr. Campbell was no longer a part of the company in 1903. The back reads, in blue, Royal China Burgess& Co. surrounding a crown. It can be assumed. Then, that this piece dates from the very early 1900s. I would call it a vegetable dish. It measures 9-1/2" not including the handles) X 7" but the actual capacity is not very large as there is a pedestal base. The inside of the bowl slopes downward towards the base. The cover handle and handles on both sides of the bowl are intricate, ornate and very beautiful. There ... moreis a crack on one end of the bowl. Another smaller one on the top rim and a more substantial one on the bottom as shown in the photo but these almost don't seem to be damage to the pottery itself, but flaws associated with age. There is substantial discoloration and crazing and a couple of very small spots on the cover where the glaze seems to have worn off. This would be a lovely piece for someone who collects blue and white antique chinaware because of its graceful shape and size as well as the less common pattern. This was a piece I had on display in my own home for many years but the blue and white phase has passed. It is probably well over 100 years old and it does show signs of age. There is also some damage as noted above. It is being sold as is. This will be sent insured because of its fragility and difficulty to replace. The shipping cost reflects that. This piece is decorated in a lovely pattern of blue and white that would mix with any other blue and white motif, it is that classic. The handles are pottery swirls, two handles on the bowl, one ... moreon the lid top. The bowl itself is footed. The edges are gracefully scalloped. The pattern is called Star and the piece is stamped RD. NO. 240031. It is also embossed with a number which is quite worn. It looks like 181123. This piece is double marked. Once on the lid and once on the bowl bottom, for Clementson Bros. England, This particular label was used in the 1890s. The same stamp in brown was used in the 1870s. Clementson Bros. were potters in Hanley, Staffordshire, England. They made beautiful pieces of Royal Patent ironstone, special white stoneware and what they called semi china, which is heavier than fine porcelain. CONDITION REPORT: In lovely sturdy condition. We have been over this piece with a fine toothed comb and can find no flaws. Other than attic surface especially on the handles, mild dust/grunge in the seams between handles and bowl. There are the typical tiny black pottery-making dots scattered in the interior; not a lot of them. Possibly a sign of age or normal use scattered here and there. Antique Ridgeways Eng. Tureen in Blue and White Hawthorne Pattern; c. 1842-1867
This is an absolutely wonderful antique piece from Ridgeways England. The tureen is at least 150 years old. The makers mark on this piece indicates indicates that it was made between 1842 and 1847(photo 8) This back stamp is the oldest Ridgeways mark. Take note that there is no location of the maker anywhere in the marks. This is another indication how old this piece is. History has documented that post 1890 there was an act declaring that all makers must have location of manufacture somewhere in there back stamps. This was mandatory for all European makers. It is also marked with the pattern name. Hawthorne. This tureen is done in a traditional blue and white floral pattern, and it is a large oval shape with a cut out for a ladle. As I said earlier, the outside really looks great, the design is bright and shiny. There are rolled handles decorated in the same floral pattern, and a knob on the lid in a solid blue and white design. The blue color on the the outside is unbelievable considering its great age. On the inside, there is a border of blue/white flowers along the top edge. The white on the inside is very discolored from age, yet there are no chips or cracks( see photos 3 and 4) There are 1 or 2 tiny knicks along the edge, nothing at all serious or concerning(see photo 3) On the underneath, there is a stress crack coming from the stand, luckily it does not go through or show inside. Honestly, the piece is an enigma, as it is so beautiful to,look at on the outside. Yet, as I described, the inside has issues. Technically, since you only see the outside when viewing, it looks great. It is a sturdy piece weighing in at 5 and a 1/4 pounds, and it measures 13 and a 1/4 from handle to handle. The tureen stands 9 and a 1/4 in with the lid on, and it is 4 and a 1/2 in high without the lid. A piece with this great history, from such a highly collectable maker like old Ridgeway

Cobalt Blue/Gold Trim on White China Covered Serving Bowl Coalport Minton Style
Sharing the classic style of fine European porcelain. This is a covered serving piece in a lovely cobalt blue contrasted with gold on a background of pure white. Gold acanthus leaves around the top of the cover. Measuring 11" across. It's a wonderful vintage reproduction of Coalport. Doulton and Minton, at a mere fraction of the price, of course. There is minor loss of gold, but NO cracks, chips or crazing that I can find. There are no identifying markings on the piece at all. The underside shows areas of pooled cobalt in the glaze.very nice! This is a decorative piece by itself. Or it would be an ideal replacement lid for a transferware tureen. Vintage Blue& White Heavy IRONSTONE TUREEN Victoria Ironstone This is a great TUREEN. It is blue and white transferware IRONSTONE. It is the“flow blue” style– the scene(I think) is an England village with English riders in the street. The white is not“white” it is a blue-ish white. The tureen is really great in that both the entire outside of it and the entire inside of it are decorated with the scene. It is double handled. The rim is adorned with leaf decoration. The foot of the tureen is also decorated with the scene. It stands 6 ¼” tall. 11” in diameter not including handles. It is quite heavy– it weights a little over 5 lbs. Up for auction here is a very handsome blue and white ceramic tureen with Chinoiserie-type underglaze blue& white decoration finished with overglaze gilding. This decoration is using transfers as far as we can determine. The shape and finial are typical of Chinese export ware of the late 18th early 19th century and from the bluish pooling of the glaze and the nature of the decoration we are going to conservatively describe this as an early(and experimental) example of English Pearlware from around 1800 to 1810 but possibly rather earlier.
