The scene appears to be Japanese and the dish is in remarkable ... moreshape for its age. With a nice glossy glaze. The lid and dish are both beautifully decorated. Top handle is a floral decoration and the inside of the dish has transferred designs on it as opposed to being blank. Some of the glaze is gone in a few places. But there are no chips or cracks. There is isolated crazing throughout blank areas of the piece and a few areas of minor discoloration. Inside of the bowl has fine scratches which are only noticeable in the light. The piece has a minuscule mark I could only capture with a loupe on top of it. It resembles an 8 or B with a hook on top of it and a K underneath it. 1878 Reg. English Transferware Covered Tureen,Platter & Ceramic Perf'd Svg Spoon
Quite rare in any antique transferware pattern. 4 matched pieces in the Aesthetic pattern, 3 for certain, and I am assured, although markless, the spoon is original to this group) all in very nice condition, here 135 years after they were made. Note small chip off bottom of platter, light and even ice type crackle on the surface, near invisible, a beginning hairline inside the tureen near the handle, see the close up, two very small flecks on the perforated ladle where it attaches to the wooden handle, with light darkening to the surface of the platter; a bit more prominent inside of the tureen. Overall, the decorations are brilliant, this is a massive and impressive display piece, standing 11 inches tall, and 16.5 inches at the widest of the platted. The registration mark says that this ceramic was made as batch 6, on May 14th, 1878. Handles on the top& sides. There is an incised mark on the bottom but it's not readable. Nice Aesthetic Movement decorations. It is in very good condition for it's age; as you might expect. The rim of the cover and the dish have some dark areas and tiny chips, one pinhead brown spot on lid. Otherwise, no cracks or discoloration. T. Goodfellow Blue Transferware Covered Dish Alleghany 1832-1858
Exceptional early English covered tureen. According to the maker's mark it was made between 1832-1858. The pattern name is Alleghany. The tureen is in remarkable condition. There is slight ware around the rim of the tureen; the largest I have shown a close up in the pics. There are no chips or ware on the lid. There are several hairlines. Again I have shown the largest in a close up. None of them go through to the inside. There is no discoloration and no crazing to either piece. The bowl is 10" wide and 8" tall. It is truly a remarkable piece.

ID 2013 Description: This auction is for a Very Early English Porcelain Tureen/Covered Vegetable Dish with a soft stepped pedestal. There are no markings. But there are numbers, handwritten in gold on the backside. The tureen is 5 3/4" high to top of the Lid Knob. It is 10 3/4" from Tab Handle to Tab Handle. The bowl is 8 1/4" in diameter. With the LID OFF. The dish is 3" high. We have found NO chips or nicks or cracks. But we do see very light crazing, and gold loss on the Lid and bands, and handles. There are grease or butter stains to inside of the bowl. But this is not considered a flaw, but a characteristic of old china. Brown Transferware Covered Vegetable or Soup Tureen "SPRAY" by Furnival & Sons
This is a well used and well loved platter. It is large. 16 3/4" by 11 1/2" It is in a rectangular shape with scalloped corners. This platter is by Brownfield& Sons and is in the Berne pattern. It has the registry mark confirming it was manufactured in 1885. It also has an impressed registry mark and maker's mark. As you can see from the pictures it has some brown staining on the front and the back. There are no chips or cracks. It weighs almost four pounds. It has crazing and the wear marks on the back from scooting it across the table and stove. For those of you who love pimitives and items in their original condition from more than 100 years ago you may love this platter. VTG England Burleigh Calico BLUE & WHITE TRANSFERWARE Covered vegetable and Lid
Very rare piece and much sought after old English transfer ware. Made by Burleigh Potteries in Staffordshire England. This pattern endears itself to anyone fond of blue and white. Burleigh Staffordshire blue calico is a vibrant blue floral transfer over white. This piece has been barely used and there are no scratches, cracks or marks of any kind. Backstamp is the original flow blue calico stamp. This piece is not a reproduction. Bowl measures 10 1/4 handle to handle. With lid it stands almost 7 inches tall.

Antique T. Goodfellow Blue Transferware Covered Tureen Alleghany 1830-1850
Beautiful transfer ware tureen that my research indicates dates between 1832 and 1858. I believe the pattern is Alleghany. Look carefully at the photos as there is some minor damage to the piece ie hairline. Some minor wear on the handles etc. There are no major chips or cracks and no crazing or discoloration.

Antique Victorian Edwardian Blue Transferware Serving Set. Covered Dish/Tureen and under plate, and Serving Platter- Made by J Kent. Pattern is called"Melbourne" dates to the late Victorian period 1890s-1910s- Serving platter has no damage or crazing. It measures 13 3/4" X 11 1/4" Under Plate for the covered dish measures 14" X 10 1/2" The covered dish/tureen measures 12 1/2" from handle to handle. Stands about 5 1/4" tall, the opening of the dish measures 6 1/4" X 9 3/4" The covered dish. Lid, and under plate have crazing, in the last few photos I have tried to picture the flaws. On the lid of the dish, where the handle is there is a"Y" shaped hairline crack, it faintly goes into the underside of the lid. There are 2 small chips on the lid rim, I have pictured one, both are about ... morethe same. The covered dish/lid and under plate do have crazing. Please be aware. Antique 1800's J. Stubbs Staffordshire Black Transferware Covered Serving Bowl
Stunning and rare covered serving bowl signed JS(J. Stubbs) Swiss Scenery Opaque China. I have seen some of these beautiful pieces in blue transferware. But have not yet seen one in this black and white combination. Nor have I seen one with a cover. This is quite a remarkable piece and in very good vintage condition, with one minor issue on rim of plate, which looks like a manufacturing issue rather than a damage over time. Measures a little over 10" across. Some glazing coloration over time, but nothing that interferes with use of item should you choose to utilize it. 1883 Brownhills transferware large covered tureen in colored Kioto pattern
I purchased this years ago because I loved the pattern and thought I might collect it.but I never did any more than have it sit in a cupboard so it is time to find it a new home. I believe it is made by Brownhills of Staffordshire in the year 1883. It is a large covered tureen but I do not have a matching ladle. I have not been able to find another one online anywhere so I don't know if it originally had one or not. I believe it is their Kioto pattern but this one has color accents so I'm not sure if it has another name or not. The only Kioto pattern I've seen has been all brown. The tureen is large at nearly 16 by 9 inches across the top. It stands about 8.5 inches to the top of the knob. It's in good condition with just a couple things to note. There are 2 small chips on the inside rim that you can see in the last photo ... moreand there is darkening under the glaze where there is crazing. There are also some long cracks in the glaze along with the crazing.

Measures about 12" by 6" wide by 5" tall. Pretty good condition for age having some typical crazing throughout and light discoloration. Lid has tiny rough spot along edge. Might be in the making. There are a few more darkened crazing lines on inside base of dish, one might be considered a tight hairline but still very stable.
