English 1840 Antique Mahogany Small Chest or Console. This small chest or console was expertly reduced in size about 100 years ago from a larger chest or dresser. Originally hand made about 1840 in England. Mahogany wood is beautifully figured. The top is cut from a single shimmering plank. Drawers have hand dovetailed solid oak sides and later brass pulls are from about 1890. The old finish is very fine with warm antique patina and has been waxed and polished. So only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain the glowing luster. Size is 41" long. 12 1/2" deep and 26 1/2" tall. My husband inherited it from a client approximately 20 years ago. He has since past and I do not know the complete history. It was in exellent condition when I met him and remained that was until we moved to a new home about six years ago. It was sitting over an A/C vent I do not know for sure but I believe that may have dried it out and caused the veneer to start chipping. If the right person knew how to fix or restore the veneer it would be perfect piece. The Green Italian Marble top is in pristiene condition. as are the drawers, legs and ornate brass fixtures. Vintage Salesman Sample Miniature Dresser 3 Drawer Chest Late 19Th Early 20Th C
Antique. Miniature 3-Drawer Chest of Drawers- I believe it is an early salesman sample that was eventually transformed into a child's doll furniture piece. The Drawer Pulls are in proper proportion to the chest. And are uncommon in size and dimension. The rear panel has apparent age and appropriate patina. The drawers are made of wood. Not laminate. The are nailed together and may have been reinforced a long time ago. There is a circular stain on the top that is clearly photographed. The varnish is certainly very old. The cut-out base is in proportion and very well woodworked. The applied decals depict charming children's Kitty Cat and Doggie images and appear to be applied perhaps in the 1950 or earlier.

A very finely made antique. Circa 1810, Federal, or Sheraton, flame mahogany veneered and solid mahogany secretary desk over chest of drawers. Two piece construction. The top section has two narrow drawers over two doors that open to two cubbyholes each with slots and two narrow drawers. Below is the chest, the top with a pull forward mahogany writing frame and original green felt. Below are four graduated drawers. It retains all the original brass knobs, locks, and brass escutcheons. The case is on four turned mahogany legs, solid mahogany case boards. Superb Antique Pennsylvania Cherry Early Sheraton Chest Of Drawers Circa 1810's Western to Central Southern PA circa 1810-1820 Once you look at this chest of drawers. You will notice the excellent craftsmanship! this chest is built like a brick loo-house! it is finely finished, and well executed. the ring turned quarter columns and feet. Are typical of south central/western PA(Franklin County area and west to Bedford) and Northern Maryland. This is undoubtedly the nicest Sheraton Chest we have ever handled! The entire case is dovetailed constructed. Of solid cherry, the 2 board sides are solid, same with the top, which is applied, over a white cedar/pine 4 board slat frame which is dovetailed into the case. the bottom board is dovetailed into the base, which is two boards of white cedar/pine. The drawers are cherry with white cedar/pine ... moresecondary woods. And unusually nice tongue and groove board bottom, which are hand chamfered into the base of the drawer case. the drawer bottoms and back are nailed on with square cut nails. the drawers are all cockbeaded around the edges in cherry. And have diamond inlaid escutcheons. the ring turned feet are mortised up into the bottom of the case. And then nailed into the sides. the prolific use of white cedar/and pine as a secondary wood in this chest is quite unusual. Some have suggested that this chest is of New England Origin. However, upon examining the construction details, it is deduced this chest is indeed of Pennsylvania or Nothern Maryland origin. We had a walnut chippendale desk a few years ago. That came out of the Gettysburg, PA area with the nearly identical usage of white cedar/pine and same ring turned quarter columns. we believe the glass knobs are replacements of much earlier brass knobs. they are however. Very nice, and undamaged by the years. the finish is 100% original and untouched. And has mellowed over time to a nice warm red colour. there are absolutely no repairs and or restorations to speak of. the back has a few new round head nails to help hold

We have had many pieces of Biedermeier over the years and this one came in off our last container from Denmark. It is in flame mahogany with ogee molded drawers. Hand cut dove tail and pine secondary wood. It comes with a key that is in place, but we do not guarantee the locks as they are finicky and usually need to be oiled and adjusted. The chest is truly a four drawer as the second and third drawer are joined together for an extra deep storage space. The other three drawers are typical size and will hold plenty of items. The finish is a dark reddish brown amber. It has a beautiful four piece mahogany veneer match top, flame sides and a wonderful gloss finish. The overall size is 40 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 43.5 inches high. The finish other than some minor flaws on the outside left and right panels, is awesome. The style is consistent with the period of"Renaissance Revival. Ca. 1860. They both have the original finish, wooden casters and working antique keys. These pieces feature Renaissance Revival/ Rococo elements including serpentine ribbed"carpenter's lace" on the edges and around the dresser's tilt mirror. They have applied hand carved drawer pulls. Escutcheons and other decorative elements in a leaf and flower design. The corners and edges are rounded. And the casings around the drawers and most edges are curved and double or triple ribbed. A very fine antique. Circa 1830's, Empire style solid and flame veneered mahogany tall chest of drawers. There are two bowed drawers over five graduated drawers. All retain their locks, five brass key holes(two brass missing) and twelve original brass bail pulls. The case is on front carved claw feet supporting tapered full found pillars having flame mahogany veneer, with carved capitols, and squared carved rosettes above. The drawer fronts are butterflied flame mahogany veneers, the drawer interiors in maple. The drawer undersides are chamfered. The solid mahogany case sides have recessed mahogany panels. Chest measures 58-1/4" tall by 45" wide by 24" deep. Excellent condition: original finish, some chipping to claw feet, minor veneer chips at top edge of two long drawers. Top two boards without cracks or ring spots.

This is an amazing Bombay burl finish chest. It is covered in a delicate hand crafted brass ormolu. The drawers are almost 2" thick and made of solid construction. All 3 drawers work well. It has no missing parts breaks or cracks. All drawers have there wood bottoms. It is very clean. It appears to have been refinished many years ago. The drawers are thick veneer over a solid secondary wood. The bottom drawer does have some cracking in the veneer but has been sealed when it was refinished. Also the bottom drawer has a small veneer chip and 2 places were the veneer has been patched with walnut veneer patches which just adds character to the chest. We have this very nice rare Dresser Chest of Drawers Has the Knapp Joint on the drawers. So that dates this between 1871-1900's I believe this is Solid Oak. Although I am not an antique dealer, just researched online. These are not the original knobs/handles. But they work great This is well made and in working condition. Southern Chest Drawers Knox County Tennessee c 1810 Furniture Antique Hand Made
Selling a real piece of Southern folk art furniture from Knox County. Tennessee, c around 1800/ 1820. This is an example of the early rural cabinet maker's art. There are two small drawers side by side across the top above three larger single wide drawers. There is a handsome Chippendale style tall bracket base. The hand carved trim up and down the two sides is very Sheraton looking and executed by a man without a lathe in his cabinet shop. It has such PRESENCE!
