This high quality dresser has early dove-tailed construction on the dresser base top up under the marble and also on the drawer ends; and an old label with an original owners name handwritten with Chicora, SC written below on the base up under the marble. It is a fascinating work of art, constructed in three parts- first the marble, which is extremely heavy at just over an inch thick(1 1/16" thick) the top of the chest with the top drawer, and the bottom of the chest with the lower three drawers. Lifting the marble reveals the construction of the topmost portion. Each of the front corners with a full gallery of hand cut dovetails that lock the top into the thick corners. All of the secondaries are solid oak, joined with large pegged tenons along the frame, this large thick top joining the lower case with thick through-tenon wedged mortise joints- by pulling out the wedge, the tenon drops out of the top portion, freeing it from the lower case. This lifts away from the case as long as the columns are not nailed at the top. The top drawer features the most incredible gilt ormolu mounts. Cast with stunning attention to even the smallest detail. Horizontal curled anthemions flank a seated angel, inscribing in a blank scroll. With wings furled behind, detailed even down to the tiniest feather, the angel rests with legs slightly bent as the robe flows from his legs, a trumpet peering out from behind him. Over either columnar support, gilt ormolu mounts of angels flank the top drawer, the figure on the right peering towards the sky with a globe behind him, the angel on the left sitting on a carefully crafted French Empire chair reading a scroll. The turned columns on either side rest on square plinths. Capped at the top and bottom with gold gilt flamed mounts, finely detailed throughout. Three drawers slide in and out of the case, each hand dovetailed front and back with solid oak secondary woods making up the frame and bottoms. The finish is in excellent condition, enhancing burl grain panels, with small mars at the edges. Drop center design. 3 marble tops(gray and white, beveled edge) Marble is in good shape, ever-so-slight stains. Has 4 smaller drawers at top, 2 large drawers at bottom, and a"secret" drawer at bottom base. Has Knapp joints on drawers(see close-up) Middle drawer sticks somewhat, but can probably be fixed. Exquisite wood carvings and raised burl walnut panels. Drawer pulls are wood carved leaf design. Candle shelves on each side of mirror. On casters. Solid and sturdy. Measures 86"H x 46-1/2"W x 19"D. The original brass& ebony teardrop drawer pulls, pin& cove dove-tailing on the drawers and the original beveled edge marble tops. This 19th century dresser measures 83 inches(6 ft 11 inches) in total height from the floor to the very top of the carved crest. A width of 37 inches, and a total depth of 17 inches and this dresser weighs approximately 135 lbs. The height from the floor to the top of the marble at the sides measures 31 1/2 inches, and height from the floor to the marble at the center measures 22 1/2 inches. This beautiful 19th century dresser features an abundance of gorgeous carvings and burl walnut accents on the crest of the tall dressing mirror.The original period brass pulls, period dove-tailed ends on the drawers and all the casters intact on the base. This splendid dresser measures a total height from the floor to the top of the mirror of 92 inches(7 ft 8 inches) A total width of 51 1/2 inches, height from the floor to the top of the dresser sides measures 36 inches, and height from the floor to the marble at the center measures 23 inches, with a total depth at the base of 20 inches and this dresser weighs approximately 150 lbs. The marble at the center measures 22 inches wide by 14 1/2 inches deep. The vintage replacement ... moremirror measures 47 inches in height by 19 inches wide. This dresser has four smaller drawers(two on each side) over the two larger ones at the base. All the locks are intact on the drawers but we do not have the key. The vintage replacement mirror is in wonderful condition and the original white inserted marble at the center of the dresser has no issues we can find. This is a gorgeous solid black walnut with burl walnut applied trim Victorian age drop center dresser with a white and gray grain marble ... moretop that dates from the 1880s. It came in on a recent load. And was very clean. Someone probably refinished it a long time ago, and all we did was tighten it up, scuff it down and re-spray it to remove all the nicks and dings. It has a great look, a dark walnut stain finish, white and gray grain marble tops in really nice condition with minor stains and no cracks. It also has hand-cut dovetail drawers, big burl walnut panels on the front, and carved medallions in the center. It also has the old teardrop dresser knobs of ebony. The top of the dresser has what looks like the original mirror, along with the original candle shelves that was used to hold the oil lamps while gazing at your reflection. It also has all original carving and decoration on the back, and the top of the carved crest, the applied cutout carved trim, button medallions, applied burl panels and clamshell carved crest on top, all intact. It’s all ready to go in your home. It measures 44 inches wide, 17 inches deep, cabinet base is 32 inches up to the marble, 79 inches to the top of the mirror crest. Antique Victorian Drop Center Marble Top Dresser w/ Pivot Mirror
A very cute little dresser brought up from Georgia to the Asheville NC area 20 years ago. Judging from the style and the candle shelves on either side. Late 19th Century. Features the original marble. Clean and unbroken, the original antique mirror, all of the original drawer pulls of figured brass, and the original casters. Original finish- has not been stripped. Stands about 80 inches high and 16 inches deep- it is a smallish piece and stands nice and shallow out from the wall- perfect for a small guest room or an accent to a large room. I'm not certain. But the wood is probably walnut. The five drawers all work just fine and have unusual'round peg dovetailing' construction(shown above in a detail shot) The hardware is ALL original EXCEPT that the bolts that originally held the pivoting mirror have been replaced by heavy screws. ... moreWhich doesn't affect the look of it too much(and they could be fairly inexpensively restored with something vintage) The mirror section is removable to facilitate moving. A very handsome piece. With minimal scratches and wear. The hand-carved details are a bit on the rustic side and not terribly fussy or'polished' workmanship. Almost folk arty. It is a solid piece and nice and usable still, with a decidedly'country' feel to it. The piece is actually quite light once the drawers are pulled out for transport and is not too heavy to lift at all. I love the carved details and personality of the thing! I do not want to ship it if I can help it- would prefer local sale. We live in Mars Hill. North Carolina, just 20 minutes from Asheville and easy directions to find us. I can help move it as well. Beautiful Antique Eastlake Victorian Marble-top Drop Center Dresser
This bureau belonged to my grandmother. Unfortunately. I do not have space for it any longer. I believe this is"Victorian Eastlake" It is in very good original condition with original hardware. Sold as is. No one has painted, refinished or otherwise tampered with it. There was never a mirror from the time my grandmother acquired it. Local pick-up only! Dimensions are: 51 inches wide. 19 inches front to back and 33 inches at the tallest point. It is a large piece and heavy but the side sections with small drawers and the marble pieces come off for moving. Probably best to have a van or large-ish SUV to move it.

This is a really nice old Eastlake Victorian dresser. It is in remarkably good condition. The drawers have the pegged scolloped rabbet joint very typical of the 1870's. The drawer bottoms are all original and in good condition. The top drawer which got a lot more use than the other drawers was worn on the bottom so its sides have been added onto to make them the proper size. The knobs have been replaced. But there is just one hole in the drawer indicating that the original pulls were single knobs. More pictures can be made available upon request for such things as I just described. This dresser is 98 inches tall to the top of the mirror. The dresser base is 26 inches tall to the top of the marble and it is 46 inches wide. The depth from front to back is 20-1/2 inches. Beautiful antique Victorian or Eastlake dresser vanity. Marble tops are ivory in color and in good shape. Original ebony drawer pulls. All 4 drawers pull nicely with unique dovetail work. There is also a secret bonus drawer at the bottom that goes unnoticed. The mirror has some silvering in it. Burl wood inlays throughout. Minor wear to be found in places. But nothing terrible. The wood looks to be chestnut, but I am not positive. Great well made piece that will last many more years to come. My apologies for the somewhat awkward photos. Beautiful Victorian Marble Top Dresser late 1800's-early 1900's. This dresser features a beautiful carved center crest and raised panels. Candle shelves flank each side of the mirror. Glove boxes sit on the marble top and are wonderful for storing jewelry or special things. The heavy 1" thick white marble top. Three drawers with the fourth drawer a secret drawer offers a wonderful hiding place for special things. This dresser is solid and very sturdy and in excellent condition. There are a couple small pieces of trim that have fallen off.

A Splendid Walnut& Burl Walnut Eastlake Victorian Marble Top Dresser with working Key circa 1880. This lovely Victorian dresser has period geometric carvings typical of the Eastlake style of 19th century furniture design and appears to have its old wavy mirror. Original marble and casters intact on the base. The tasseled key works all the locks on the drawers which feature period dovetailed joinery. This dresser does dis-assemble into 3 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. Dress is sturdy and tight and ready to be place in your home. Only apology I can find is the bottom drawer pulls are just a little different that the others but do appear to be old ones. This fine 19th century dresser has been in the same home since the 1950's and is estate fresh. We believe this dresser to have its original finish, marble and mirror and has its casters intact on the dresser base. The top drawer on each side features a wonderful lidded compartment and the drawers feature period dove-tailed joinery with beautiful carved walnut drawer pulls that resemble buckles. This dresser has a stunning presence with its gorgeous carvings and is very tight and solid and in wonderful antique condition.
