The dresser offers 3 long locking drawers. Pin& cove(knapp joint) ends on the drawers. All the drawers have their locks intact but no key. The drawers feature an incredible matched set of 6 original period pulls in the Anglo Japanese Geisha Pattern probably manufactured by Russell& Erwin. The front of thedresser has beautiful incised floral and foliage carvings on the drawers. This chest is good quality, solid, sturdy and would make a great addition to any Victorian Decor. The Eastlake furniture style as envisioned by its namesake, Charles Lock Eastlake, came about in response to his dislike of the over-the-top Rococo and Renaissance Revival styles popular during ... morethe Victorian era. Although Eastlake furniture is technically considered Victorian, being popular from 1870-1890, it breaks away from the excessive high relief carving, classical elements and numerous curves of other styles produced during this timeframe. Antique Empire Dresser with Beveled Swivel Mirror 1860s Burled Walnut Located on Long Island. NY This is a very old. Large antique dresser with a swivel, framed beveled mirror. It has the original finish, which I believe is flame burled walnut, with a beautiful wood grain and patina. The end pieces on the base and the mirror supports are carved. The drawers have dovetail joints. Keyholes and the original glass pulls(keys are not included) I purchased this dresser in Atlanta 25 years ago. I was told it was a Civil War era piece dating to the 1860s. Although I have no way of verifying that. The drawers are very large and roomy. This is typical of pieces made at that time. As clothes were stored flat in drawers. This is a large. Solid piece measuring 54 in wide x 26 in deep x 35 in high. The mirror with frame measures approx. 46 in across x ... more37 in high. Overall. This piece is in good condition, but it is old and does have some imperfections. The top surface is very blotchy from what were probably water stains. In addition, the veneer is split on the top right drawer with some pieces of veneer missing, and there is a blemish on the lower left corner of the mirror(please see photo) I don’t see any other major issues with this piece, but please feel free to ask questions. Antique Vintage Large Vanity Dressing Tabletop Shaving Wooden Swivel Mirror
Antique Victorian style wooden swivel mirror for a tabletop vanity or dresser. Mirror may have also been used for shaving. The frame and base are wood. I am not sure what type of wood it is. But if I had to guess I would say Mahogany, but please determine for yourself. Approximate measurements are 21 1/2" tall, 18 1/2" wide at the base and 6 1/2" deep(at the base) The mirror appears to be original and has that antique mirror patina with small black specking throughout. This is the perfect mirror if you are looking for something that shows its age, character and patina. Condition of the glass is good and it has a beveled edge all the way around(set in about 1" there is some chipping of the glass up underneath the top of the wood frame, difficult to see unless you really looking(please see last photo) Condition of the wood ... moreis good with some wear, patina and cracking to the finish in spots. This piece an amazing antique look that you can only get with with age and time. There may have been some water damage to the back of the piece at some point but it really only adds the character of the piece. Item is in all over good condition but not perfect. This is in beautiful condition for an antique of this age with no major breaks, cracks, missing pieces or damage and is very heavy and well made. The mirror does show some fadeing on the inside. There are 4 drawers, two large 8" deep on the bottom and 2 smaller 5" deep drawers on top. This has a gorgeous rich mahogany finish, stylish bowed front drawers that are dovetailed with original pulls, supportive columns on either side with turned 6" feet along with original steel wheels. The ogee framed mirror rests between the tall scroll top arm supports, we believe the mirror to be an older replacement and is nice and clear. The drop center base features smaller glove box drawers on each side with ogee drawer fronts and below additional storage is found in the four larger drawers below. This is an antique Eastlake hand-carved dresser cabinet with a swivel mirror and one drawer. Quite unusual and ornate in styling. Lots of hand-carved detailing including a lovely Victorian fern in a pot on the top of the drawer. The initials"DB" are carved into the pot of the fern. Perhaps this was made as a gift to"DB" In generally good condition with what appears to be the original finish. The mirror has a good deal of silver loss but no cracks or chips. It sits firmly and holds its position when swiveled. There is a small stress crack on the left rear corner(next to the mirror support) which has been repaired and is now quite stable. See close-up. The rest of the piece is remarkably free of scratches or cracks. The bow-front drawer slides open and closed smoothly. Appears to be the original, ornate knob. Antique Swivel Dresser Mirror 1800's Beveled
Measuring 38.5 across the bottom and 36" high. I believe the wood to be maple- it measures about 28.5 inches across the area where it pivots(back photo illustrates the pivot hardware) Beveling is about an inch wide and the mirror has speckling of the silver consistent with its age. Reflection is clear without hazing. Has ornate wood features& unique copper surround skeleton key hardware& locking inside door latch with copper dots with petina on the lower door jamb. Made by Ottawa Furniture Company. Holland, MI between 1907 and 1925, has been in the family for decades. Was going to be restored by grandpa, but passed. Missing sections on only the bottom of one side/rear& leg. So pretty much just need part of the bottom fixed to be stable, however, there were some loose parts in the drawers, but unknown if all here, it is not stand up stable due to lower leg section missing, but is stable if propped up, come look. Antique Gem De Luxe Razor Swivel Suction Cup Shaving Mirror Vintage Gillette
Wow this is a very rare old Gem.De.Luxe shaving mirror. I couldn't find another one anywhere on the net. only a few razors of that brand. It has a spin down suction cup base. The old suction cup is hard as a rock from age so it wont work. But its all there. The mirror is real good just a light area of alligatoring. Its nickel plated not sure about the base metal I believe some brass some steel(the swivel clamp has a little surface rust. Stands 10" tall. The mirror is 5 1/4" in diameter. The base is 2 3/4" in diameter. It will stand up with out the suction cup working but is not real stable.
