This is an absolutely stunning work of art with attention shown in every detail of the case. The entire case is solid mahogany. With carefully selected grains that produce a glowing fire throughout. The rim is ruled around the front and sides over a top drawer with a gallery of three carved shells over the blocked encasements below. The two outmost shells are convex, carved out of solid mahogany, each flanking the concave central shell with a keyhole in the middle. The drawer has an incredible thick facade and, uniquely, no hardware- the key is meant to act as the pull hardware, the craftsman not wanting to distract from the shell carvings by adding hardware. The three following drawers feature incredible blocking over shaped molding that flows with the outline of the chest. Each drawer is hand dovetailed at the front and back, the top drawer having a single solid board bottom, each other drawer being two board construction. The case rests over incredible hand carved ball and claw feet, each flawlessly formed with detail in every joint, muscle and stretched nail. The back two feet are carved only in the front, much in the nature of the period chests, where an absence of any mechanical device meant everything was crafted by hand- the craftsman would regularly look for ways to reduce finishing work without detracting from the overall result of the case, as our craftsman did in this chest by leaving the back of the back feet unformed. This is one of the most precise and beautiful block front reproductions we've come across. We purchased some really interesting pieces from this collector as he is downsizing, and this antique oak dresser was refinished about 20-30 years ago, and we did a couple of touch ups. This fantastic oak dresser is in nice condition in a medium oak stain finish. It has two small concave front drawers on the top and a large bow front drawer in the base for plenty of storage. The Victorian dresser has cabriole carved columns coming down into a detail claw foot, panel sides, multi-molded rolled front above the drawers, carved yolks that hold up the mirror.

Beautiful antique chest of drawers in mahogany with a gentle sweep of a bow front. All original. Including its finish, as I hope you see in my close-ups. It features four nice deep drawers, perfect for storage, and has the dust panels between each level. The top pair drawers' inside measurements are 15 1/2" across by 5 1/2" tall, and are 15" to 17" deep, given the curvature of the front. The middle drawer's inside measurements are 32 1/4" across by 7" tall and 14 1/4" to 16 1/4" deep. The bottom drawer's inside measurements are the same as the middle except it is a little deeper at 7 1/2" tall. Overall. The measurements of the chest are 35 1/4" tall by 34 3/4" across by 16 1/4" to 19 3/4" deep. All four drawers work perfectly and have hand-done dovetail joints. It has the classic Yoke-Stand and Framed Beveled Mirror with prominent carved appointments, all in the original natural oak wood. It is a Four-drawer dresser, and the top bank of drawers are the classical double-bow-front. This Dresser is well over 100 years old. And its construction is truly frontier-old school, and features absolutely ZERO plywood or particleboard. It is all SOLID Oak Wood, and the only'veneer' is the facing on the Bow-Front Drawers. The floriated carving details are also solid oak, and were applied with'brad&glue' The Mirror Glass is original and beveled. It is starting to show a few minor age spots in the silvering. Victorian Golden Oak Bow Front 2 Over 2 Dresser With Carved Mirror
Beautiful Golden Oak Victorian Dresser with mirror. It's 40" wide. 20" deep and about 67" high with mirror. Very nice condition. There are 2 small dark spots on the top which can be seen in photo slightly. Dove tailed construction on the drawers and hand carving on the oval mirror. On the sides of one of the bottom drawers the dove tailing is slightly warped from age and split slightly but the drawer opens and closes smoothly with no effort and is solid. If anything the color is slightly more golden than in the photos. And it is on castors. Mirror is removed easily. This is pick up only. Thanks.

THE WHEELS ARE ORIGINAL AS ARE THE KNOBS, ALTHOUH THE HANDLE ON THE BOTTOM-RIGHT WAS MISSING WHEN I GOT IT. THE FIXTURES SEEM TO HAVE AN ACORN& OAK LEAF MOTIFF LIKE THE CARVINGS AROUND THE MIRROR. AS YOU CAN SEE ON THE BACK, TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE MIRRORS' PROTECTIVE COVER, THERE IS A SMALL TRIANGULAR PIECE MISSING. Circa 1890 Flame mahogany See description for full condition report Deeper than most chests Bow front shape, This fabulous antique Victorian mahogany chest of drawers displays a rich and entertaining selection of flame mahogany on the drawer fronts. Combined with the traditional bow front shape and brass plate back pulls. This is a great dresser that would dress up any room of the house! Being from the Victorian period. This antique dresser was made in England sometime around the year 1890. It is deeper than most bow fronts ... morewhich provides extra storage of larger items like blankets, towels, or sweaters. At the bottom splayed bracket feet and a shaped apron give the chest a little shape and elevation. The five drawers are constructed with hand cut dovetails. All drawers open and close nicely. As previously mentioned the wood is mahogany and the drawer fronts are a particularly nice looking flame mahogany. Satinwood string inlay and mahogany cross banding add a border that gives each drawer front depth. Rosewood banding adds some contrast around the top as well. Locks are present on all drawers but no key remains with the dresser. Overall this antique dresser is in very good condition. It does have its share of small marks and dings throughout as you will see in the pictures. These are present all over the chest. There is minor wood damage above each lock. The upper right drawer lock has a small repair over it. The front left foot has a repair as well. All of these are old and have been waxed over throughout the years.
