This is a really nice carved French style sideboard or hall table made by the Thomasville Furniture Co. It has marble inserts and a whitewash oak finish. It measures 62" wide x 18 1/4" deep x 32 1/2" high. There is a small chip on one corner of one of the marble inserts which you can see in the pictures. Otherwise it is in good clean condition. Up for auction is a sturdy antique dresser with a marble top. The top sits on the dresser and the heavy weight of the top keeps it in place. Top does not fasten to the dresser. The top has more gray tones than white. Marble is clean with no noticeable cracks or stains. The three drawers have locks; however. We do not have the key and do not know if the locks are functioning. The dresser is on casters and rolls nicely making it easy to move. We do not know the actual age of the dresser and do not know the name of the manufacture. We did not see any obvious markings. Stampings, or dates on the dresser or the top. The wood has been painted an off-white with an antique gold. The table has a middle shelf which is open on two ends and two ends have a black mesh screening. The top is heavy thick white marble with gray and brown veining. the top has a scalloped shape. Notice that there are many chips to the finish of the wood. Either from age or done intentionally to create an aged look. I also see a couple of hairline cracks in the finish of the wood(see pics) The legs are sturdy and can easily hold up the marble. This is a pretty little cast metal table with a white marble top. This table measures 17-3/4" tall. The marble top is 15" wide and it is 3/4" thick. The metal base is 8" wide. The table is in excellent condition. On inspection the base shows age appropriate patina. The white top is also in great condition. On inspection there is a very faint dark area. Possibly from the glue used on the underside, it isn't outstanding. This table comes from a smoke free and pet free home. It is clean and ready to use. This is remarkable considering it's age. The dresser has 3 parts- the mirror assembly. The marble mid-section, and the oak base cabinet. The mirror is attached with 2 wooden rear slats which extend to the base cabinet& screws that hold it rigid. The marble rests on the base. It is solid and sturdy. It stands evenly on the floor. The buyer can take this dresser home& use it, guaranteed to have a major effect on a room when it comes to decorating. Guaranteed antique- not a reproduction. This will retain value- about 100 years old, perhaps more. DESCRIPTION: The dresser has a 3section mirrored top consisting of a frame with arching top ... moremolding with a carved horizontal over 1/4 round fluted side columns. The center miror is stationary with side mirrors that are hinged& swing out almost 180 degrees. All mirrors have wide bevels. Excellent silvering without blemishes. The marble section is white with a thin grey lines from the stone. It is not composit or manufactured stone. It is clean, no chips, no repairs. The mirror rests on the rear of the top shelf which is over a marble galleried backsplash and opposing side sections. The flat top surface is clean& smooth white marble, all marble is matching and original to the piece. The base cabinet has 2 pull out drawers over 2 swing out doors which open to a large interior with a center horizontal shelf. The base has 1/4 round fluted columns which match the mirror and a center vertical with carving and a burled oval decoration. The pulls are brass, the locks work, a key is provided. Center side marked" 5 KG" No makers marks. 18 1/2" wide. 6 1/4" tall Has three weights. The smaller 500 g one is accurate. LOCAL PICK-UP- MONTVILLE. NJ* This is a piece from my Grandmother's estate and has been in our family for 4 generations at least. I think it is Mahogany based on the reddish color of the wood. It does have some scratches and along the bottom trim there are a few cracks. I don't know the year it was made. It measures 43 5/8" at the rear and 39 1/4" in the front where the marble is, and it is 20 1/4" deep. It has four wheels for easy moving. The drawers are all 35" wide and 20" deep. The first drawer is 4" in height, the 2nd is 5" the 3rd- 6" and the 4th is 7" high. It is a sturdy piece and has served well, but it needs a new home. This is a really nice old Eastlake Victorian dresser. It is in remarkably good condition. The drawers have the pegged scolloped rabbet joint very typical of the 1870's. The drawer bottoms are all original and in good condition. The top drawer which got a lot more use than the other drawers was worn on the bottom so its sides have been added onto to make them the proper size. The knobs have been replaced. But there is just one hole in the drawer indicating that the original pulls were single knobs. More pictures can be made available upon request for such things as I just described. This dresser is 98 inches tall to the top of the mirror. The dresser base is 26 inches tall to the top of the marble and it is 46 inches wide. The depth from front to back is 20-1/2 inches. Here is a Sheaffer fountain pen. This is sold as-is for parts/repair. The barrel of the pen is marked W.A. SHEAFFER PEN CO PAT. AUG. 25.08. FORT MADISON. IA. U.S.A. DEC.10.12-JAN.27-OCT.20-NOV.24.14. The nib is marked SHEAFFER'S LIFETIME REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. MADE IN U.S.A. 5204299. I am guessing this is a 14K gold nib. But it is not marked as such. It has the white dot at the top of the cap. This is a lever fill, flat top pen. It is a green marble color with gold colored trim and clip. Cap on, this measures about 4 1/2" long. This is sold as-is for parts/repair. The bladder has hardened and broken. You can hear the bladder pieces when the pen is shaken. The cap has some cracks around the opening; there is one chip to the edge. It is not level on the bottom, in fact, in slopes forward.it does have 2 very large screws inside the glass cabinet that would allow you to hang on a wall. This cabinet has a solid white marble top; 2 drawers off to the side with the middle having a glass cabinet with the physicial cross on it and a open cabinet below that. There were others that got destroyed before I was able to grab them. This had a lot of old window sill glue that I carefully removed and this piece has been sanded tremendously. You can see in the photo below the notching on the bottom side of this slab where it was fastened to wood framing. Even though I sanded it for hours. It is quite smooth ... moreand soft to the touch. But, there will be some light scratch marks still on it. The ends are a little asymmetrical from where I ground away the chips and did some sanding.
