The piece is in amazing condition, with very little sign of wear at all. There are ... morea few light surface scratches to the finish from general use, but it has been very well cared for, and is in amazing condition. The marble top has a small chip in it at the back rim edge. I am unsure of the exact age or manufacture of the piece. It features a gorgeous burled veneer inlay on the drawer fronts, bail pull handles, and built-in division in the top drawer. The piece is lockable, and comes with the key. I am unsure of the type of wood that it is constructed from. It has dovetail joints, a panel constructed back, and fluted trim accents at the front side framework. I am unsure of the exact age of the chest of drawers, but it looks like it may have been re-varnished at some point.

The chair shown is offered elsewhere in our collection Item# 110105PII25 This is a remarkably preserved English Chippendale Period Kneehole Desk. Circa 1740-50. It is crafted of well figured solid single boards of Mahogany on the top and sides- there is no veneer on this desk, just solid boards of full grain mahogany. A simply molded edge runs the perimeter of the top, each corner scalloped. Each drawer is hand dovetailed front and back, with thin oak frame construction and thin oak drawer bottoms- all drawers are fully original and lack any adjustments and restorations to the secondary construction. Glowing hand forged brass hardware adorns each drawer. Appearing to have never been removed from the piece. Inside each drawer, as well as the tiny door in the kneehole area, silver metal locks are secured and functional. Each lock appears to be original, each uniquely cut on the right hand corner for all small drawers- it would appear the craftsman was presented with the challenge of making the lock of his choice fit the small space in conjunction with the pull hardware, and overcame this but cutting the corners of each lock. Hand made screws are visible throughout the lock hardware. While we cannot say for certain if the key is original, it is of the period, hand made and very similar in metal color to that of the locks. Each drawer is lip-molded and slides flawlessly in and out of the desk. Just below the top drawer is a secret drawer compartment. Appearing to be part of the frame design, but actually pulls outward smoothly as an extra hand dovetailed drawer. This is a unique addition for the craftsman to make, as many of these knee hole desks are without such innovations. The wide top drawer pulls out to reveal a full dust shelf. Antique collector Scottish Flamed Mahogany Chest. This is an impressive mid 1800 Victorian Scottish Flamed Mahogany Chest of Drawers with a large flared cornice top with convex molded contour front. One rare and unique characteristic of this superb Victorian Mahogany Scotch Chest of Drawers is the hidden alcove. The cornice top folds over to reveal a deep and large unique secret compartment for storage. There are five long graduating drawers with original turned mahogany knob handles with Mother of Pearl insets in the center. The chest features incredible precise hand cut dovetail joints on all four corners of each drawer. The drawers also feature hand shaved(chamfered) drawer bottoms. Child's size tiger maple dresser. This is a keeper! Not a miniature! Very special maple with great figure as you should be able to see in the photos. This is the second of two dressers. I used the same photos from the first chest of the drawer and back. There is no difference. 4 graduated drawers. Mitered top molding. Mitered bottom molding. Nicely shaped bracket feet. The drawers are made of poplar and the back is cherry. This is HAND MADE and new. I never use pine. Only hardwoods even for drawer bottoms or backs. American made solid brass knobs. This has a glass smooth hand rubbed finish to a satin sheen. I get better detail in natural light but it does make the dresser look a shade lighter and brighter. You will not see chips and tears in the wood. DIMENSIONS: 18 1/2" wide. 17 3/4" tall and 9 1/8" deep. Thanks!

The cornice top folds over to reveal a deep and large unique secret compartment for storage. There are five long graduating drawers with original turned mahogany knob handles with Mother of Pearl insets in the center. The chest features incredible precise hand cut dovetail joints on all four corners of each drawer. The drawers also feature hand shaved(chamfered) drawer bottoms. A very unusual large and fancy Bonnet style chest. Circa 1820-1840. Cherry solids& veneers with poplar secondary woods. Has older label on back. That says it was brought to Anna Ill. Union Co, 1859, by C.E Kirkpatrick, ex. mayor of Anna. This label apparently was written in 1939. It is hard to make out the pencil writing, partially reads"recondition April 1939 by Headrick Bros. woodcraft shop, 421 N Sprigg st Cape Girardeau, MO. Girardeau MO. is only about 26 miles from Anna Ill. Cornwall Kirkpatrick was in the pottery business in Anna with his brother. Today Anna pottery is highly collectable. The Kirkpatrick brothers were originally from Ohio. No other provenance. A neat label with some history. 4 smaller drawers over 3 bow front drawers. All the drawers are hand cut dovetails. Picture# 4 shows underneath of case, lower left hand side leg is out of slot. All the legs are loose like this, not broken, just dry glue. Also this picture shows bottom back strip of wood as ply-wood. Obviously a replacement. Top of dresser has spindle gallery, Spindles and top board are cherry. Top has a couple plugged areas, possibly to cover knots in wood. Picture# 9 shows close-up of column side, this column has a small repair. Picture# 11 shows 1 bowed drawer with bottom slide repair. This is the worst drawer, others are fair. Last picture shows inside case, some questionable boards to upper inside. They appear to have been replaced. This will need some TLC, shows its age and old refinish. Antique 19th Century Mahogany Chest of Drawers - Dresser - Square Nails
It is an antique chest. The chest has mahogany veneer. The drawer sides and bottom are made of oak. The drawers have square nails and the underside of the drawers are hand chamfered. The interior of the pulls have carved mother of pearl. It is 48 1/2" tall x 21" deep x 49" wide. The chest is in fair used condition. The drawers open and close fairly smooth. The veneer has some warping. Chips and old repairs. The top is loose and has some dings, staining and remnants of tape. Overall, it presents well. A true antique. What a sweet chest of drawers. Salesman sample from circa 1850. Made of Walnut It measures 9 inches tall 9 1/2 inches wide 5 3/4 deep The chest has a water stain on the top. I have never tried to bleach it out. It looks to have been finished in the past. The rear of one of the drawers looks like it had been nibbled on in it's past. See photo. I have owned it for 25 years purchased it from an estate in Maine. You can see in the photo that they did a repair to the top left corner of the top drawer Patched with care. The sample shows very well and the Walnut has depth in the grains. So nice to look at. Fantastic antique New Hampshire Chippendale chest of drawers. Constructed from pine. This piece has been stained a beautiful deep reddish brown tone. The chest has five graduated doors, each with sturdy dovetail construction and brass willow mount pulls and escutcheons. The chest has a classic overhanging molded top, which is balance my simple bracketed feet at the piece's base. This chest probably dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. Overall. The chest is in fair to good antique condition, but does have some wear and dings commensurate with age and use. One of the escutcheons also has a break near the top, as you can see from the pictures below. Otherwise no significant damage or visible repairs. This chest stands 41" tall and measures 38 3/4" wide and 19 1/2" deep. 1820 SHERATON/HEPPLEWHITE 4 DRAWER CHEST
This auction features a nice vintage chest of drawers. It is solid cherry,I think this dates from 1820 or a little earlier, it has a Sheraton era look, but the feet remind you of Hepplewhite feet, the casters are wooden and original, the sides are paneled, I don't think the pulls are original, the holes are not changed I'm missing a few of the pulls, but they were definitely a 2 hole pull, it is 40 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 43 inches high, there is definitely wear, there are some old wear on the right back edge about 2 inch long wood loss and finish look around the pulls, it gas 4 wonderful graduated drawers, and hand dovetailed( see photo) it has a great country look but the feet make a little more formal. This is a beautiful and quite rare antique miniature chest of drawers. It appears to be a furniture salesman's sample. The style appears to be an 18th century style. This piece is quite old and appears to be at least early 19th century and possibly earlier. Many of the drawers appear to be made from pieces of wooden antique cigar boxes. These pieces feature Renaissance Revival/ Rococo elements including serpentine ribbed"carpenter's lace" on the edges and around the dresser's tilt mirror. They have applied hand carved drawer pulls. Escutcheons and other decorative elements in a leaf and flower design. The corners and edges are rounded. And the casings around the drawers and most edges are curved and double or triple ribbed. It came into our west coast warehouse off the last container. It has the beautiful finish. Which has always been for the Beidermeier that we hand pick. This wonderful seven drawer chest has a very unusual, besides the stunning match veneer fronts as you can see in the photos, it has the detail claw foot with toe nails also carved in, instead of the scroll or block feet. It is in wonderful condition with the typical age cracks on the plank sides and it has a stress crack across the top of the crown molding(on the very top) that is not visible unless you are standing on a chair. The finish is really nice and the escutcheons are all there. There is a key, but we do not guarantee the locks to work as they always need to be cleaned, oiled and adjusted, but they appear to be working currently. The seven drawers represent the seven days of the week for the men when they went to sea. On Sunday, it was their best day, so it is in the deepest drawer. These drawers never had handles as the key was used to unlock that days attire and open the drawer. Belgium and Denmark) This particular dresser represented the workers seven days of the week and he had the respective clothes with Sunday being the most special day, so it held the most clothes. They were never made with handles and the drawers ... moreare opened with the use of a key. Some people argue that the white escutcheon it is a plastic composite and other say it is celluloid. I just say it is very nice to keep it original. This particular chest dates from the 1850s era and is in wonderful condition. It comes with a large original key and all the locks appear to lock, but we never guarantee our locks to work as they always have to be peeled apart, oiled and maintained as they are very fussy. The chest itself is breathtaking. Look at the selection of the flame mahogany that adorns the face of the hand cut dove tail drawers! The simplicity of no handles is a very stylish move. It has a clamshell molded top and ends with a bun foot that shows signs of the old European wood borers that used to b u rrow into the wood and they are all gone. But does show signs. It is all good and bug free! The only thing I can see wrong with it is that there was a little chip on the right hand side that the warehouse has professionally repaired and I can’t even see it in the photos. Antique 19thC Child's Toy Doll Chest of Drawers w/ Mirror Primitive
Up for auction is a very old primitive child's doll chest with a thick coats of pink paint. This is an older one! The measurements are 22" height x 11" width x 9.5" depth. Please view pictures as they are part of the description- paint chipping in some areas. Some surface erosion on one side of bottom(no missing wood or holes just some wear on the bottom from good old age and one of the drawer is missing a strip of the bottom wood(see pics) overall for the age of this piece it has held up very well. RARE ANTIQUE 1800'S WOOD DRESSER / CHEST TOP MIRROR STAND WITH 3 DRAWERS
Offered for sale is this rare 1800's Dresser/ Chest top mirror stand. It just does not get any better than this. This piece has 3 drawers. A mirror that swivels on the 2 upright arms and the entire piece is made of dovetailed oak which has a rich patina. I am not sure you can see it in the pictures but the middle drawer and mirror have a thin light maple inlay around the perimeter. This piece is real craftmanship at it's finest. It has an awesome design with the middle drawer offset from the 2 side ones and the mirror support arms divided and elegantly curved. The whole thing sets on small bun feet. It measures about 27 1/2" tall by 19" wide by 10" deep. I wish I was a better photographer because I do not think these photos do it justice. This makes a great display item or gift for that someone special who is so hard ... moreto shop for. Bet they do not have one of these. The time to buy something rare is right when you see it because you may never have a chance to buy one ever again. I have other items listed and I am happy to combine shipping.
