One hinge on the armoire broke so we opted to keep the door off instead of fixing it ourselves as we did not want to damage the furniture(the hinges did not all match when it was originally purchased by my family) The armoire has shelves on the right hand side and bars for hanging clothes in the middle and on the left. There are two night stands. Each has a small upper drawer inside the door. The tops on the dresser and night stands are marble. Antique Vintage 1940's Bedroom Furniture Set Suite Art Deco
This set belonged to my parents. Originally purchased in the mid-1940's. When they liked something, they liked it-and kept it. It's in very good condition. There is a scratch on the top of one side of the dresser, as shown in a photo. One leg apparently had weakened and my father had repaired it with a piece of sheet metal, as shown. It doesn't show on the outside edge, but they always had a long bedspread over it, so it didn't show, anyway. The drawers are all very clean, as shown. This is a very nice. Well made, sturdy, solid, vanity set from the 1920's or 1930's I think. The mirror is nice& clear, there are a couple minor scratches that could be polished over easily. I don't know what kind of wood it is or what the style is called. The vanity with the mirror measures approx 57" tall x 34" wide x 21" deep. The matching chair measures approx 36" tall x 15-1/2" wide x 16" deep. There is no makers mark or tag that I can find on this set. The wood on the vanity surface is a beautiful wood grain design. Antique Big Victorian Bedroom Decor Furniture Dresser 1850 Mirror Brush Set
Hello- This is a very special True Victorian Hairbrush Mirror from at the LATEST 1850! The Amber-Yellow glass indicates this. And is never reproduced. When looking into the Etched Amber Glass, Your face is surrounded by the flowers just like my camera is if you can imagine, and your face has an amber glow. I placed it on the 50's mirror so that you can see the difference in the glass's. The big round mirror is part of the set. The Victorian Curling is genuine, I'm not positive of it's age, But these were used even into the 1920's. The brush measures approx. 10" long x 3 1/3" at the widest. And has a wooden brush area to hold the bristles. The metal is a bit tarnished from age, a magnet does not stick to it and I don't know what kind of metal it is. There is some loss to the etching of the flowers, but not ... moretoo much and is still in wonderful condition. The curling iron is approx. 10" long. With a thin crimping rod for"pin curl" size curls. The round mirror has some tarnishing from age. A magnet does not stick to it. The mirror measures approx. 12" long x 9" at the widest. Antique 3 piece bedroom suite of cottage furniture in my family for over 100 yrs
This is a 3 piece bedroom suite of cottage style with German influence design in hand paintings. Don't know the medium used. It went to Pearl City, Il. from parts east in early to mid 1800s. My Dad was born on the bed in 1898 and my sister in 1932. All 3 pieces have been in constant use since its beginning and still is. The time has come for me to let someone else add to it's history. See all pictures as they show what I am going to print. The dresser is 40" wide, and 76 1/2" high including casters(porcelain& iron) and glove box and mirror. Mirror and glove box are held onto top with wooden pegs going thru holes in marble. Wooden spirals hold mirror in frame, one knob on one spiral is missing part of it, many years ago, break is completely oxidized. Mirror needs resilvering or replaced. I have no key for the locking ... moremechanisms in the drawers. The marble on dresser and wash stand has some scratches and a couple of pits in wash stand stop, no breaks; back edge is rough but not broken. Drawers are dove tailed. One drawer pull recently broke in half and I have repaired it. The wash stand is 32" wide and 30 3/4" high and 18 1/4" deep. Back splash has been missing for at least 80 years. Cupboard is divided into 3 compartments, there is one drawer. The bed accommdates a full size mattress. Scuff marks, scratches and wear marks on on side boards and bottom of legs, general wear overall. The wooden slats are not all original. I offer local pick up only. Solid& Sturdy well made piece. Dark color/reddish brown tone. The"Roos Manufacturing Co. of Chicago was established in 1871 by Edward Roos(born in Germany in December 1848) Died in 1906. He had several children including Otto(born 1877) and Edward(born 1880) Otto took over the Roos Manufacturing Company when his father died in 1906. They did manufacture cedar chests, but it is unclear when they started. The business began making curtain rods and later wooden boxes. Minor marks and scratches throughout as it has been used. This piece of marble weighs about 100 lbs itself. The first drawer opens to a solid piece of burl or birdseye maple. That is a sign of quality as that was an expensive wood. The two drawer pulls in the top drawer are original. There are four larger pulls that were used in the two lower drawers but are missing pieces. I have purchased and installed four reproduction pulls and will include the pieces of the originals in case you ever want to try to locate matching one but even a nice set of Victorian Eastlake teardrop pulls that do come up often would work if you don't like these repros.
