Antique Hardwood Cottage Chest with 6 Drawers
This is an Antique. All original hardwood cottage dressers with 6 drawers and a storage area with door. The piece is hand painted in off whites and grayish colors with hand painted greens and orange floral prints. The piece is a true antique, held together with the dovetail method that was used during that time period, the 1800s to early 1900s area. The handles are antique black with white knobs that hangs down loosely. The colored paint and floral prints are still in very good condition, but the white foundation paint looks rather distressed with some discolorations that have occurred over time. However, with a good paint job, you can turn this into an amazing one of a kind piece. Or, if you like distressed furniture, you can leave it just the way it is. We've owned this fine chest of drawers for many years but our tastes have changed so we decided to sell it. The original paint is amazing on this black cottage pine chest of drawers with matching mirror. Hand painted designs of gold and a deep brown colors make it very special. The two upper drawers also come in very handy for storage. It's very ornate and pretty. Condition: pretty good. Used condition for a 100+ year old chest of drawers. Wear to paint from use that includes fading in places. Chipping, crazing. Water marks etc. Some scuffs. Chips and wear in general to the chest. All common from years of use. If you want a new and mint chest. This isn't it. We collect primitives and it IS that! Really nice. Works well, drawers stick some my most old chests.
