The marble top has a small chip in it at the back rim edge. I am unsure of the exact age or manufacture of the piece. It features a gorgeous burled veneer inlay on the drawer fronts, bail pull handles, and built-in division in the top drawer. The piece is lockable, and comes with the key. I am unsure of the type of wood that it is constructed from. It has dovetail joints, a panel constructed back, and fluted trim accents at the front side framework. It has two drawers on top that are dove tail and four large deep drawers below. The only thing wrong with this dresser is that when it came into the shop the two handles on the bottom were missing and we put on reproduction hardware that is similar, but do not match. The dresser is completely tiger sawn oak with solid oak posts going down into a cabriole leg, shapely bottom skirt, multiple molded shapely top and the carved backsplash makes the whole dresser. This stunning piece was made in England. We estimate it was built sometime around the year 1890. It has a very Chippendale look and feel to it. The mahogany wood has a wonderful grain and color that is sure to go with almost any bedroom suite. At the bottom, large and strong bracket feet provide lift and support to the entire chest of drawers. Each drawer of the chest is fashioned with a lock. Unfortunately, no key remains. There is a black mark on the third drawer down and a few small dings here and there. The right side has a square of different colored finish in the back near the top and a repair at the back of the top moulding. Otherwise, this antique mahogany tall chest of drawers is in very good condition and ready to go right into your home and be used. The insides of the drawers are clean. This great looking tall chest of drawers is made from mahogany wood. Six graduated drawers provide ample storage. Here is the black mark on the one drawer as well as a look at the Chippendale pulls. Antique burled birdseye walnut dresser. It has a white demilune beveled marble top and large center mirror. On either side of the mirror there are two curved cabinets with a shelf in each. Picture 10 shows a small piece of veneer at the top left that has come unglued and a couple of marks. There are three large graduated drawers. On the bottom of each side of the drawers there are two curved cabinets with a shelf in each. The four cabinet curved doors are finished on the inside. All the drawers and cabinets have locks. I have the key for the top left cabinet. The drawers have the original carved wood pulls. It stands 79" high. 48" wide, and 25" deep. The marble has no cracks. The dresser is in fine condition. The serpentine front is framed by corner full round columns having carved Egyptian capitols, the front feet carved claws. Original oval brass pulls, oval brass escutcheons with all locks, no key. Drawer interiors are maple dark stained mahogany. Chest measures 5' 60" tall by 3'5" 41" wide by 22" deep. Very good plus condition: original finish unworn, top surface with minor scratches or tiny ring spots.
