The front of the chest has beautiful incised carvings on the drawers and wood escutcheons. This chest is good quality, solid, sturdy and would make a great addition to any Victorian Decor. Nut missing for finial on left top drawer pull. The Eastlake furniture style as envisioned by its namesake, Charles Lock Eastlake, came about in response to his dislike of the over-the-top Rococo and Renaissance Revival styles popular during the Victorian era. Although Eastlake furniture is technically considered Victorian, being ... morepopular from 1870-1890, it breaks away from the excessive high relief carving, classical elements and numerous curves of other styles produced during this timeframe. In contrast with other Victorian styles of furniture produced in America featuring classical motifs, Eastlake furniture is more geometric and incorporates modest curves. Antique Completely Restored Oak Hotel Washstand with Mirror Chest Dresser No Res
You are bidding on a hotel washstand that has been completely restored by a professional refinisher. It is in more or less perfect condition now. It is finished in a medium oak color with minwax provential stain. Finished with several coats of Sherwin Williams sand& sealer and two coats of Sherwin Williams top coat water proof lacquer. The entire piece of furniture has been sprayed and sealed good, including drawer bottoms, back and bottom of the piece. The solid brass has been cleaned and lightly polished with jewelers rough. The finish is hand-rubbed and it looks like it has just be waxed. The bevel mirror is original, has some distortation because of age. The towel bar including the bar itself is all original. The base comes apart from the towel bar and mirror for easy transport. As you can see the back looks just about as good as ... morethe front. The finish is in excellent condition, enhancing burl grain panels, with small mars at the edges. The marble is in very fine condition and has been polished and sealed, there are minor stains, see photos. There is a little golden"smoke" to the mirror to show its age. On the sides are candlestands. Below are small drawers. Hand dovetailed drawers have birdseye maple bottoms, at the base is a wide"secret" drawer. Description This chest sold a month ago to a bidder that lives in Australia. I could not ship him the chest there because of shipping restrictions please see note below. My fault. I did not realize the size box that would be necessary to ship this chest safely. So my appologies. Here we go again. This listing is for a really quite spectacular circa 1850 very elaborate apprentice cabinet circa 1850 or so. The cabinet measures 19 inches high by 16 inches across and 8 inches deep. 48 by 40 by 20 cm) The cabinet has 4 wallpaper lined drawers. Each drawer has a brass escutcheon and two round wood pulls each with a brass star. The cabinet is mahogany with the top. Front and both sides covered in marquetry work. The marquetry work is at least 6 different woods including olive and fruit woods. The drawers are flanked by columns with fancy capitals ... moreand bases. The whole sits on 4 bun feet. As you can see by the photographs the cabinet is a really beautiful example of"proof" that an apprentice had achieved mastery of his cabinet making skills. The condition is also exceptional for it's age and virtually untouched as far as restorations or repairs. The drawers maintain their original wall paper interiors. BEAUTIFUL Empire 5 Drawer Dresser or Chest with Burl Walnut Veneer
Very nice Empire 5-drawer dresser or chest with burl walnut veneer. This piece is solid. Clean and tight. Drawers are made of single-board, poplar(the grain in some boards is curly) with hand-planed bottoms,and handmade dovetail joints, Each drawer has a pair of turned, solid wood knobs. Top pair of drawers are large and deep with beautifully crafted ogee faces. Drawers do not stick at all and operate smoothly. Overall dimensions of piece are 43 inches wide by 21-3/8 inches deep by 44-3/4 inches tall. There is a charred spot on the top where a kerosene lamp tipped over burned the wood. There are a few small knicks on the edge of the veneer and has been repaired on one drawer face(see photos) Local pick up only.

The table top has mother of pearl inlays and it is decorated with hand painted gold trim and a flower pattern. The same gold trim and flower pattern is continued on the base and the column. A pedestal base is rising from a stepped circular foundation on three feet. Condition: The table is in its original condition with beautiful patina. C. 1810 Featuring solid mahogany planks making up the sides and top of this fine case. Dovetailed into the pine secondary woods of the bottom, nailed at the top, this beautiful chest of drawers from the first quarter of the 19th Century has delightful petite proportions that make it convenient for most rooms. The bow front drawers are built up of strips of pine, covered with a flamed mahogany veneer and inlaid in an ovular shape from side to side, framing the Hepplewhite style replaced hardware and wooden keyhole escutcheons(also probably replaced) The drawers are hand dovetailed front and back, somewhat rebuilt as noted in the condition statement below, ... moreand in smooth operating condition, flowing easily in and out of the case for a fully functional appeal. These are divided with a yellow pine backed and mahogany veneered bar, presumably dovetailing into the side of the case behind the veneers. A fine inlay encases the drawers and sides, with diamond form cut in satinwood and ebonized wood to bring clean lines to the case. A softly scalloped apron curves gracefully between the splayed French feet, each fully original including all blocking and interior support. The back is made up of three pine boards, each connecting to the next with tongue-and-groove joinery, nailed along the sides, entirely original. I originally purchased this chest in North Carolina about 3 years prior. I am selling this chest to make room for a bookcase at the end of the hallway. The pictures are taken in that hallway and in high resolution. The condition of the chest is amazing. There is no damage and no splits. This is a beautiful American victorian 6 drawer marble top chest with the original finish and fine detailed wooden drawer pulls. The chest is circa 1880. The chest is a good size that measures 47" wide. 21 1/4" deep, and 31 1/2" tall. The chest has the original white veined marble and original brass roller. The marble has a small 6" surface run that does not go through to the back. There are two upper drawers that are 20" wide and 6" deep. The two lower drawers are 41" wide and 8" deep. Being offered for sale this Victorian Walnut Marble Top Three Drawer Chest with Carved Pulls and Oval Decorative molding on the drawer Fronts circa 1875. This lovely chest measures a total height of 34 3/4 inches. Total width of 38 1/4 inches and total depth of 18 3/4 inches and weighs approximately 95 lbs. We believe the white and grey veined marble top to be original and is in fine antique condition but does show some slight usage and character marks and a bottom rim chip that is common for marble of this age. The three large storage drawers each offer raised oval decorative molding and carved pulls with period dove-tailed ends. And all the locks are intact but we do not have the key, and this chest has its casters intact on all four feet to allow for easier moving within your home. Spectacular"Highly Figured Sold Maple" Chest of Drawers Circa 1895 I fully restored this lovely piece.It features incredible"highly figured" solid maple with Birdseye maple veneers on the oxbow top drawer fronts.All of the brass hardware. Including the key hole covers are original.As you can see the hardware is the icing on this cake! The original drawer locks are all in place and in excellent working order using the beautiful key I had made.The top of the dresser has incredible patina and some of the finest grain figuring you will see.The top is first class all the way. All of the drawers were totally rebuilt and slide like silk. The drawers feature the sought after dovetail joinery. I restored the finish all by hand using a custom rich stain to achieve the highlighted rich burgundy followed by many. Many coats of hand ... morerubbed varnish.When you rub your hands over the finish you will feel the superb depth and notice the beauty of the amazing maple grains. This is a"bonnet top" dresser meaning the top two drawers protrude and overhand the lower level drawers. The sides have great architectural design with the paneled construction.Like any fine antique. This piece has minor imperfections and character marks in the wood. The posts which hold the drawer handle in place are brass plated steel, some of the plating has worn off after 135 plus years.The photos show casters in the legs, they will not be included.I find they tend to split the legs.There is a knot depression on the upper left side(see photo) I think it adds character and figuring just like the top of the dresser. This piece is solid. This chest features 2 elegant columns on the sides with rings and round surfaces on top and it has a total of 5 drawers that are well constructed with dovetail joinery and they have very attractive flame mahogany facings with attractive wooden round handles and there is a distinguished shaped skirt at the bottom. Inside the drawers their linings shows some wear and age but they can be easily covered if necessary. Some of the knobs are slightly loose and there are wood imperfections and separations otherwise considering its age.
