Victorian c 1880 salesman sample doll size furniture washstand wash stand
Wonderful wood salesman sample washstand from an estate in Iowa. The wash stand measures 12 1/2" tall. 7 1/2" wide and 4 1/4" deep. The washstand has a drawer and double doors on the bottom. They all work well. The top has a little spindle holder for a towel. This piece is in very good condition without damage. Victorian walnut washstand vanity vessel sink late 1800's towel bars
This is very nice walnut dry sink or vanity with towel bars. It would also make a very nice vessel sink in a powder room. As far as we know it is all original. It is mostly walnut. But it appears that perhaps a piece of oak was used in the back support piece(see picture- wood grain appears oak in back view of piece) Very nice scalloped shelf at the bottom. The piece is in very good condition with exception of a minor repair of crack in one of the towel bars. It is not very noticeable and is solid. As you know. Any antique furniture will have minor nicks or imperfections. We have not tried to repair anything, but did apply a good furniture oil to the entire surface. 19th Century English Victorian Antique Wooden Mirrored Vanity / Washstand /Desk
This beautiful Victorian vanity was designed with many details that capture your eyes. The overall condition is great considering its age- most probably Victorian 1800s(the piece's age is our opinion based on comparisons we've done on the internet) The pictures show the minor chip and the place where a missing dowel bar might have been(it can easily be replaced) The wood is beautiful and the piece's craftsmanship is excellent. It was well taken care of. The piece has three original mirrors- the dominant large center mirror that tilts. And the smaller mirrors on each side which are underneath the small upper drawers. This is a very old. Petite washstand that we have revived for your country, cottage, shabby chic, or seaside vacation home. This piece will freshen up any small space in your home.
