Solid Cherry.....English Antique Furniture Eastlake dresser commode...circa 1810
This is a charming English made solid cherry antique dresser circa 1810. I acquired this from a couple who came to the United States from England. This piece is consistent with English cabinetmaking.This is made from solid cherry planks. The candle stands which flank the mirror are wonderful.The carvings and hand turned finials are beautiful. The hardware is all original except for the 2 small upper drawers which is new. All of the lower drawers have locks which work excellently with a new key. The hand cut dovetail joinery and hand chamfered drawer bottoms are beautiful. The drawer fronts are 1" thick solid cherry, there is no veneer on this entire piece.The secondary wood is poplar. The mirror glass is new.The mirror is on tilting mounts(it does not stay fixed when tilted. Just let in hang vertically) This piece has lots of battle ... morescars(nicks, dings etc) and some repairs earned over its lifetime such as dings in both side panels about the size of a"pea" The top(across the full width.left to right) has an age separation shrinkage crack which I repaired(you can still tell there was a crack despite the repair(see photo) some drawer bottoms have age shrinkage separations,there are some age shrinkage separations(cracks) in the side panels, worn edges, small stains in the top and character marks consistent with any fine antique.I refinished the top and the mirror frame, after repairing a missing piece of wood around the mirror thumb screw. The inlaid brass keyhole escutcheons are all in place. Most of the dresser has the original finish with a gorgeous patina as you can easily see in the mirror support photos etc. This wonderful piece will look beautiful wherever you decide to place it whether an entryway. Bedroom or living room.I restored all of the drawers and reinforced some internally with wood blocking.The drawers are strong, stable and they slide excellently.I t has such delicate graceful lines which sets it apart from the crowd. all the best. Fabulous early 19th century antique American cherry and tiger maple dresser with original Sandwich glass knobs. Dresser measures 39 1/2" across. 19 1/2" deep, and 45" tall. Drawers are constructed with fine dovetails. They all retain their original locks, but I don't have the key. There is writing inside the top of the dresser which I believe details the origin of the dresser. I can make out something that looks like"day before Christmas" and numbers, but I can't read most of it. A photo of the writing is shown in the next to the last photo above. This beautiful Empire style chest of drawers came to me from the estate of a collector. We believe it to be constructed of solid cherry and is dates to the 1870s. It features one deep drawer on the top and three standard drawers below. The front of this piece is carved with turned pieces on either side. The cut glass knobs are original and in very nice shape(no major cracks or other issues) We will remove these knobs and wrap them separately prior to shipping. Excellent condition with only some very minor condition issues(light surface scratches and a minor split to one of the drawer fronts) All drawers are dovetail construction– the bottom drawer is a bit sticky– we will take care of that prior to shipping. Up for auction is a beautiful solid cherry chest on chest circa 1850. This beautiful chest is very structurally sound with no defects in the structure. All of the drawers Ron good. It has locks in every drawer with a key as well. There are obvious signs of use especially on the top there are some rings nicks and scratches. But it is in great shape considering it is approximately 165 years old. This measures approximately 53 inches tall by approximately 41 inches wide by approximately 20 inches deep. This great estate find came from Ohio. The gentleman I purchased it from said that it belonged to his grandmother. There is no information before she owned it. This is a great style and a great antique piece. It is located in Myrtle beach South Carolina for local pickup only, however I would be willing to meet with in a 50 mile radius for delivery.

A very unusual large and fancy Bonnet style chest. Circa 1820-1840. Cherry solids& veneers with poplar secondary woods. Has older label on back. That says it was brought to Anna Ill. Union Co, 1859, by C.E Kirkpatrick, ex. mayor of Anna. This label apparently was written in 1939. It is hard to make out the pencil writing, partially reads"recondition April 1939 by Headrick Bros. woodcraft shop, 421 N Sprigg st Cape Girardeau, MO. Girardeau MO. is only about 26 miles from Anna Ill. Cornwall Kirkpatrick was in the pottery business in Anna with his brother. Today Anna pottery is highly collectable. The Kirkpatrick brothers were originally from Ohio. No other provenance. A neat label with some history. 4 smaller drawers over 3 bow front drawers. All the drawers are hand cut dovetails. Solid poplar drawer sides and bottoms. Wooden pulls ... moreI believe to have been replaced. Inside was 1 remnant sandwich glass style knob. Picture# 4 shows underneath of case, lower left hand side leg is out of slot. All the legs are loose like this, not broken, just dry glue. Also this picture shows bottom back strip of wood as ply-wood. Obviously a replacement. Top of dresser has spindle gallery, Spindles and top board are cherry. Top has a couple plugged areas, possibly to cover knots in wood. Picture# 9 shows close-up of column side, this column has a small repair. Picture# 11 shows 1 bowed drawer with bottom slide repair. This is the worst drawer, others are fair. Last picture shows inside case, some questionable boards to upper inside. They appear to have been replaced. This will need some TLC, shows its age and old refinish. Superb Antique Pennsylvania Cherry Early Sheraton Chest Of Drawers Circa 1810's Western to Central Southern PA circa 1810-1820 Once you look at this chest of drawers. You will notice the excellent craftsmanship! this chest is built like a brick loo-house! it is finely finished, and well executed. the ring turned quarter columns and feet. Are typical of south central/western PA(Franklin County area and west to Bedford) and Northern Maryland. This is undoubtedly the nicest Sheraton Chest we have ever handled! The entire case is dovetailed constructed. Of solid cherry, the 2 board sides are solid, same with the top, which is applied, over a white cedar/pine 4 board slat frame which is dovetailed into the case. the bottom board is dovetailed into the base, which is two boards of white cedar/pine. The drawers are cherry with white cedar/pine ... moresecondary woods. And unusually nice tongue and groove board bottom, which are hand chamfered into the base of the drawer case. the drawer bottoms and back are nailed on with square cut nails. the drawers are all cockbeaded around the edges in cherry. And have diamond inlaid escutcheons. the ring turned feet are mortised up into the bottom of the case. And then nailed into the sides. the prolific use of white cedar/and pine as a secondary wood in this chest is quite unusual. Some have suggested that this chest is of New England Origin. However, upon examining the construction details, it is deduced this chest is indeed of Pennsylvania or Nothern Maryland origin. We had a walnut chippendale desk a few years ago. That came out of the Gettysburg, PA area with the nearly identical usage of white cedar/pine and same ring turned quarter columns. we believe the glass knobs are replacements of much earlier brass knobs. they are however. Very nice, and undamaged by the years. the finish is 100% original and untouched. And has mellowed over time to a nice warm red colour. there are absolutely no repairs and or restorations to speak of. the back has a few new round head nails to help hold

The heft makes me think of Empire or Gothic furniture, and the look and the knobs seem American to me. So my guess would be mid 1800s, maybe 1840-1870-but what do I know? You decide for yourself, and ignore my misleading guesses. All the drawer pulls match and there is a key for the biggest drawer. Condition: You will see normal wear and tear-light scratches and stains-and there is a small crack on the top. I see nothing major or unexpected for a piece this size and age. You'll love it! Coming from estate of a serious antiques collector is this beautiful dresser with integral. Locking vanity set on top, complete with key that works. The wood type is cherry, we think, and solid(hidden parts may be other type, not sure but see photos) Overall it measures 42" wide x 43" high x 20-1/2" deep(vanity part is 4-1/2" high x 36" wide x 10-1/2" deep) The only issues are it shows years of faithful use and some wear. Top of vanity's right end a bit loose. But the finish still shines. Pennsylvania F irst Quarter 19th Century 1800-1825 Please view our photo slide show here via Flickr! We love chests of drawers. And this hepplewhite mid-case is absolutely no exception! Attention to detail was in the mind of the cabinet maker who made this chest in the first quarter of the nineteenth century. No expense was spared. And no detail left unhindered. The build quality is exceptional! In fact it is overbuilt, which is very typical of PA early furniture. This chest was built to last, and will certainly last forever! This chest is for what it is. Is one of the heaviest pieces I have ever owned. Solid Cherry with Poplar Secondary Woods. The top. Sides, drawer fronts and feet facings are all cherry. The bottom board is dovetailed ... moreonto the sides. And the top is SLIDE dovetailed onto the top of the sides, with supporting rails mortised into the sides. The drawer slides and spacers mortised and nailed into the interior of the case. The back boards are nailed on, and make up the lower part of the back feet returns. The feet: the feet are guaranteed 100% original. And intact in superb condition. The feet are attached with blocking plates, which are nailed onto the bottom board, and hand scooped out to accommodate the curly dew drops of the feet facing. The front feet are held in place with hand cut and formed glue blocks. The Drawers: 5 graduating drawers. Solid cherry drawer fronts, with cherry cockbeaded trim around them. Poplar secondary woods. The drawer bottoms are ship lapped, and hand chamfered. Having ship lapped drawer bottoms, is amazing, and helps with shrinkage. The sides and back of the drawer are nearly 5/8" thick, which is tremendous! On the back of the drawers are hand cut dowels that act as spacers and drawer stops. All are intact. The drawers all slide very well, and are extremely clean. In fact this is the cleanest piece of case furniture I have ever owned! As I moved this piece back

I bought this from an old timer here in Hatfield and it was his mother's. That makes me the second owner. It dates to 1888-99 based on the scallop. And pin joinery shown in the drawers. It is all original. All drawers work well. One of the drawers has a square of yellow paint on the inside front. Also. There is one solid brass drawer pull that does not match all the others. I found. A semi match in a salvage shop in Aurora. Oregon. I currently have this piece in my living room and it looks gorgeous. Way to nice. To have tucked away in a bedroom. 41.5"inches across. 20.75"inches deep. 29.5"inches tall. Drawers are 35.75 by 15"inches with 5.5"inch depth. Store Categories This is a charming antique child size set of drawers crafted in the 1850s/1860s. Composed of chestnut and cherry woods. This set of drawers is designed in the American Empire style. It features three drawers topped with one smaller drawer inset. Crafted with square cut nails. In overall very good condition with light wear and scratches to the finish throughout. Scattered checks with three to the top. The top drawer of the lower set rests slightly off kilter as the wooden bar has come loose from its position on the track. The loose bar is pictured in front of the drawer in the final image. There are a few scattered losses to the wood. Especially at corners. There is a small loss to the decorative element at the top.
