$375.00 Shipping Condition: Used Location: Scranton, United States This 2 section barrister bookcase has been refinished on the outside maybe 20 years ago and painted on the inside and on the back in a blue/grey sort ... moreof color. Probably done at the same time as the finish. The spots that might have revealed the maker name have paint on them so I am selling it as maker unknown. In addition to the 2 sections, it comes with the original top or crown, and a base with drawer. It also features metal side straps between each section and the scissor mechanism for the doors. No problems with the 2 glass doors. In fact, I see no problems at all. With the square straight legs it is very mission looking and being from about 100 years ago, I think we can safely call it authentic mission furniture in every way except the finish, although a lot of mission furniture WAS this color when it was new. The joints are all tight and all sections lock together easily and correctly. While only a 2 stack, it is a big 2 stack with each section able to take books as much as 13 1/2 inches tall. The over all measurement are 34 inches wide as most of these are, and with base and crown a total of 45 inches tall. It is a full 14 inches deep from knobs to back. I am listing this as local pick up only. BUT there are shipping/delivery options for you to chose from. RI delivery is $50 MA or CT. $100 If you are beyond those states. I would still deliver to most of the rest of New England, all of NJ, parts of PA that are East of Harrisburg and parts of NY that are East of Binghamton for $200. A true antique. Authentic and original condition Lawyer's“Elastic” Sectional/ Modular) Bookcase with the earliest company gold labels attached inside each section. And with door"equalizers" which later versions did not have. Made by Globe-Wernicke Co, Cincinnati, OH in extremely rare mahogany, which was the company's most expensive grade. Remarkable, beautiful condition for being over 100 years old. All glass is original too, except for the bottom door. Never refinished or in any other way modified. This has been in my family since it was purchased new by my great-grandparents. Specs: 1. Early gold label version. Dating it to 1899-1910. H as“equalizers” on each door. Which are folding metal spring rods to keep the doors from pulling off and to allow them to swing upward and slide into each section, getting the doors out ... moreof the way. The presence of the equalizers also shows that this is one of the first units made. 2. Four bookcase sections with doors: three are size D-8½. One is size D-10¼. The numbers are the interior height dimensions. Separate waterfall cap and base sections. 3. Marked Grade 598½. Which shows that it's mahogany in what the company called a“dead” finish(dull brush finish) medium dark stain. 4. Brass hardware. 5. Waterfall(rolltop) ogee cap section. Located in Nashville. TN. I will assist in getting it shipped to you in any way that I can, but you will need to arrange for that. Since it's modular, it can be taken apart, including the doors. Complete piece with all windows in good working order. Pictures are meant to show the top section removed and the sliding glass mechanism in the open and closed position. Stack contains 4 sections with a top and bottom section and there are no significant nicks or scratches in the wood. The is a misson lawyers bookcase from Globe Wernicke. Label says 898 mission oak finish and each of the 4 sections are labeled. I think the finish is fumed oak and is a lovely mission look. 55 inches tall. 11 inches deep and 34 inches wide. 4 sections with a seperate top and bottom. Bottom has a nice drawer. Original finish. Original antique wavy glass. All doors open nicely and have all inside door mechanisms. All hardware is original except for 2 knobs which were replaced at some poit. Lundstrom Book cases- Circa 1926. Three tops with original brass plate. Three bottoms and 13 individual book cases- configure bookcases as you please. Each bookcase is 13" x 34" Old wavy glass. Door are in really good shape. Solid wood. Light repairs needed on side of a couple of the book cases but does not compromise the integrity. Backs of all the bookcases appear original except for two. This walnut bookcase is an antique Globe-Wernicke. The bookcase is made of Walnut noted by the"Walnut stickers" on the case. The doors glide smoothly while opening& closing. If you put very heavy things on the top it does put some pressure on the hinge part that makes the doors open& close which makes it harder to open& close. Greetings from Camden. Maine. This is an antique barristers bookcase in beautiful shape. It is very old but in great shape with a lovely, consistent semi-gloss finish on bright, heavily figured, solid-wood English oak cabinetry. The workmanship is excellent. This is the piece you want. It's functional, warm, and makes a tall, distinguished statement wherever it is situated. I don't know the exact vintage but am thinking early 20th century. Glass all intact. Hinge-work, articulated armatures for lifting and stowing panel windows is all functional. Even the tiny pulls are figured oak. Nice Globe Wernicke bookcase. Two pieces of the leaded glass are cracked but no sharp edges, could be used as is. There is some veneer lifting on the top as well as a small piece missing( see photos) These are grade 299 1/2, 3) are size d 8 1/2 and(1) is one size D 12 1/4. The D 12 1/4 has some gold crackle finish on the glass. If you know what this is called please let me know and I will upgrade the listing. There is a drawer in the base. Some of the label in the leaded glass section is missing. You can clearly see the size and grade. Here offered is the best metal Barrister Lawyer's Stacking Bookcase that I have ever offered for sale in the 40 years that I have been in the Antiques Business. This is a three stack bookcase made by Shaw-Walker one of the best Indusial and Office Furniture Manufacturing Company's of the 20th Century in America. The original green paint on this is in amazing condition. I had a very hard time showing the true color of this Green. This is much better looking in person than my photos show. This is a nice rich green somewhat darker than Army Green. There is only slight wear to the front bottom inside of the individual bookcase sections(These cannot be seen ... moreunless the door is open) and some minor scuffing around the bottoms of the feet. The top of the bookcase also has some scuffing from items being slid across the finish. This is not bad but you can see the marks if you are tall enough. There is no rust or dents to this Bookcase. On each individual stacking section on the back left side is an oval mark where a inventory or number tag was original affixed to the pieces. These are all missing and were probably taken off when this was decommissioned from a Company's inventory. This is 33" wide. 13 1/2" deep and 59" tall. Each Bookcase section is 16" high. The doors all lift up and slide properly and all the glass is free of cracks or chips. The knobs are made of brass.
