I think the wood could be walnut the more I look at it in this dark finish. The overall size is 21 inches square and 35 inches high overall. Each section is 10 inches wide, 7 inches deep, 11 inches high and 12 inches high on the bottom shelf. It is missing a few of the brass tacks, but overall it is complete. Four separate stacks with this bookcase-a graduated unit with 3 different sizes. Note the top unit has a leaded glass door. Original labels on the interior and nice leopard bands on the sides. Super finish which is smooth and even. The interior height of the units is 13.5. 11.5, and two which are 9.5. The overall size of the piece is 34 wide, 12 deep, and 57.5 high. I don't think you will find a nicer four stack unit. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Great stacking bookcase circa 1940 from the machine age start of the midcentury modern period. It has a sticker on the top front that reads ART METAL JAMESTOWN? NEW YORK USA- Bookcase is metal but original finish is made to look like mahogany. As you can see one window needs replaced and there is some wear to the finish and spotty rust spots but overall very presentable. No dents. Both top and bottom remove leaving 3 matching stackable sections. Doors work nicely. Overall size is 52" tall by 32 3/4' wide by 18" deep plus a little additional for the knobs. Broken down each section is about 15" tall plus another 3/8" indented section for the next stack to fit on. Actual working size-that is the amount of room you have for the books giving clearance for the door and door mechanisms are 17 1/4" deep. 30 1/8" ... morewide by 12" tall. 3 Section Mahogany Bookcase
For sale is a magnificent mahogany triple bookcase dating from the late 1800s to early 1900s with a wonderful braided carving detail. This piece of fine furniture is all one piece measuring 6 feet in length. 5 feet in height, including the feet(which I have not measured but they are approximately 8- 10 inches high) and about 18 inches deep(I did not measure but will and will revise if necessary) The feet are removable and attach with 3 or 4 pegs each. The pegs are very substantial, but one is broken. This bookcase has wear commensurate with its age. But a good polish would make it look fabulous. There is a spot of white paint on top and some scratches, but they would only be visible to someone tall enough to see the top without being on a ladder. The shelves are all adjustable and the doors lock, although one lock is a little tricky. Someone ... moreinstalled lights in this piece, which I have never tried to turn on and do not recommend using because they will generate heat if the doors are closed, but I have not removed them. This piece must be shipped due to its size and weight. I have not weighed it. But an estimate only is 75 lbs. This bookcase is available for pickup. 1900-1915 Globe Wernicke Quarter Sawn Oak Stacking Bookcase Section that has the banded sides and is all original with original sticker in the back Pattern 113 grade 299 Standard E 13 1/2 unit Globe Wernicke Co. It is approx 13 1/2" deep 34" wide and 15 1/2" tall. The original glass is good. The back is still very solid and has the original pull which is a little crooked due to the fact that the screw is bent that is attached to the pull. The scissor hardware for the door is all there. This is a Gl obe We rnicke bookcase section. It measures the standard 33" L x 13" W x 14.75" H. The label is missing but I believ e from others I've had it's a mahogany finish. The good news is that it's st ructurally very s tur dy and the glass is intac t. All hardware is present and the door slides as it sho uld. It does need some refin ishing to be perfect. T he scratches on the inside are primarily surface marks and not deep scratches. They are smo oth to the touch. One of the metal kn obs on the top needs repair as can be seen in the picture. Still displays well. Macey bookcases have an interesting history. Otto Wernicke of Grand Rapids patented the original elastic bookcase around 1892 and produced them in his own plant under the Wernicke name until around 1902. That's when he formed a partnership with Globe in Cincinnati and bookcases using his patent were produced under the Globe-Wernicke label. However, Wernicke was not happy with arrangement so he went back to Grand Rapids and purchased the factory owned by Fred Macey in 1905 calling it the Macey-Wernicke Co which was shortened to just Macey in 1907. Here you are bidding on an"Antique Macey's Oak Barrister/Lawyers 5 Section Bookcase" This is a real beauty. It consists of four shelf sections and a fifth crown top. It has the metal strappings on its sides. Two sections are 10 inch and two are 12 inch. The glass doors open and close properly. It has the Macey's logo on one of the sections. It is 49 inches high x 12 inches deep x 34 inches wide. The finish is really nice with the exception of a few stains on its top. There are two knobs missing. This is a wonderful bookcase with six-glass-door sections that dates from the 1900s-10s. Made by the Weiss Furniture Company, which ... morewas well-known for its high-quality office furniture. This one is in the mission style, has been completely refinished in a dark oak stain, has its original brass knobs, and it does look like the glass is all original, though I can't guarantee it because sometimes in this light I can't tell if the glass is wavy. The wood itself is all solid oak. It has a base with four simplistic square legs in the mission style. The coolest thing is that it is all original on the inside finish, with its original Weiss stickers on every back panel. Another unusual thing about this is that the doors are all the hard-to-find heights. Every door on the bookcase is 14.5 inches tall. That means that when you open the bookcase, it gives you 12.5 inches of height, and 10.5 inches of depth. The width of the inside of each section is 32 inches. The overall height is 106 inches tall. Its height may mean you would like to take the base off so it would fit in a room with a normal 8-foot ceiling.
