This is a Globe-Wernicke Barrister bookcase. Made out of real MAHOGANY. It stands 48" tall by 33" wide. It consists of a top section w/ tag. 3" tall. the next section down also has tag w/ orig. glass that lifts and slides open. Mechanics are perfect. Its 10 1/2" tall. The next section down, has 2 sliding doors w/ glass, one pane is orig. the other looks to have been replaced. There are no tags for this section. And I have looked over 1000's of pictures on the internet and have not seen another like it! With the sliding doors. This section is 24" tall. It also has an adjustable shelf. The shelf is oak. It measures 53 3/4" High to the flat top and 65 3/4" to the top of the back splash. It is 38 1/2" Wide and 12 3/16" Deep. The interior measures 9: deep. The shelves are adjustable. The back splash with the mirror is removable. The beveled mirror is original and it's reflectivity is getting'fuzzy' But still reflects and is useable. Rare Pair Oak Leaded Glass Barrister 1/2 Stack Bookcases w/ Clawfeet
These Bookcases feature 4 stacks each with top and bottom. The bottom has claw feet with a drawer. They have leaded glass panels that operate good when opening and closing- they slide smooth. They are solid structure all of the sections fit nice and tight no wobble or shakeyness. They are unmarked. The finish has some aligatoring. The backs of the sections may have been replaced at one time or another although the outer wood looks to be original finish They are in excellent condition as shown in photos. We are not sure of the exact age on the bookcases there was not a Globe wernicke sticker or a Macey brand we could find. The bookcases came out of the Dr. Clark Wrather's Estate in Bokoma. Oklahoma. This is a very fine two door quartered quarter sawn oak bookcase or china cabinet. Piece has original leaded glass in the upper section of the doors with a floral pattern and an overall organic motif. All original glass(wavy) and in excellent condition. We have refinished this piece and it has a smooth and even finish-if you know our refinishing you know we do a complete job-inside and out. I am not sure of the manufacturer of this piece but believe it is the Larkin Co. of New York. Notice the claw feet on this piece and the turned round columns.
