These materials are far superior to the original production materials used by Globe Wernicke. These steel shoulder screw assemblies are high grade stainless steel and the bushings are oil impregnated bronze(therefore self lubricating) The washers are stainless steel as well. Installed these look almost identical in color to the original production pieces unlike the other replacement bearing assemblies out there being offered today. These are far superior in terms of function over the original materials. The original materials would trap moisture between the steel bearing and steel shoulder on the screw and the steel bearing assemblies would then rust seizing up. This then forces the door surface to be dragged along the top of the bearing loosening the bearing attachment, damaging the wood on the door and slowing the progress of a door that should otherwise open with great ease. Globe Wernicke #299 Combination Unit Barrister Bookcase 12.25/10.25 4 Sections
We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique barrister bookcase. This is made by the Globe Wernicke Company. This is model# 299 and there are two sections that are D 10 1/4 and two sections that are D 12 1/4' There is a sticker on the back wall of all of the sections. The assembled piece measures 63.25" high and has a width of 34" and a depth of 12" This is the standard style with plain glass doors made from quarter sawn oak. This still has the original felt at the tops in between the sections. There is one section that is missing a piece that is about 2.5-3" wide. It also has the original brass hardware. This came from a Fitchburg. MA estate and has been in the same family since the original purchase in the early 1900's. There are some age appropriate splotches in the finish and light age and use associated ... morescratches and dings. There are paint specks on the base and there is a small piece of wood missing from the front. There is a split on the side of the top section as seen in the picture. Therre is also a burn in the wood. One of the brackets has some light rust on it and three of the knobs are replacements. There are two screw holes in one panel that it appears someone had attached something to it. This is a previously owned item and is being sold as shown. Has some sticker residue in the upper corn er that can easily be removed.I just didn't want to ruin the wood by attempting it.

1900-1915 Globe Wernicke Quarter Sawn Oak Stacking Bookcase Section that has the banded sides and is all original with original sticker in the back Pattern 113 grade 299 Standard E 13 1/2 unit Globe Wernicke Co. It is approx 13 1/2" deep 34" wide and 15 1/2" tall. The original glass is good. The back is still very solid and has the original pull which is a little crooked due to the fact that the screw is bent that is attached to the pull. The scissor hardware for the door is all there. The two boards on the top are good and strong. It is a little dirty but will clean up nicely. Pictures will show you views of this item. This listing is for 2 Globe Wernicke bookcase sections. They are both marke d 3313 BGD 14 and the finish is 373 1/ 2 imitation mahogany. They e ach measure 33" L x 13" W x 15" H. Photo one is the first and photo 2 is the other. They are an older model and are stencil ed with the Globe label. There are no tags. Both are very sturdy and the glass is intact. They both need refinish ing pretty much to the same degree. You can see in photo s that there are many scratches and marks. The only difference is that one is missing it's door equalizer(this is the scissor like attachment that Globe bookcase had that attached to the door and roof) It doesn't affect the door as there are also rollers. I'm not sure if these rollers are original or not as I've ha d other Globe sections that do not have them. very rare& hard to fine. antique globe wernicke barrister bookcase metal. in very good condition. No dings or dents. does have scratchings but nothing deep just surface. it appears to have been painted brown. it comes apart in 3 sections. top& 2 window sections. no keys. has a bar going down front to put a lock at bottom. has a spot of something in seam corner on the bottom, dont know what it is. glass is very good i didnt see no scratching. i was told it was from the 30's. measures 33" w x 13" deep x 51" tall. has the globe wernicke emblem at bottom. top is like a cap piece formica it looks like this was added to it i believe. makes it look real nice to me. exceptional shape for its age. this is local pick up polk city fl or lakeland fl. Original Globe Wernicke Parts Offered here are three eyelets. Two large ones for the door and one small one for the back. These are for the scissor mechanism that guides the door. They are dirty, some have rust and some are a little bent. You'll get three randomly grabbed eyelets but none that are painted or badly bent. Size may vary slightly. The large ones are 1 1/8" long x 9/16" diameter and the small one is 7/8" long x 1/2" diameter. These are"as removed" from bookcases and have not been cleaned.
