The piece has 4 glass door sections and a top and a bottom section. The sectional stands 60 inches tall by 34 inches wide by 11 inches deep. I am listing three stacking bookcases this week so please check my other listings. Here is an Exceptional Antique Sectional Bookcase made by Gunn Manufacturing of Grand Rapids. Michigan in the early 1900s. This 4 stack bookcase is in Original finish Mahogany and is designed in the Queen Anne Style with broken arch top and pad/slipper foot on cabriolet legs. The two bottom sections meaure 11 inches tall, the two top sections measure 9 inches tall. The Bookcase measures 69-3/4 inches tall overall when fully assembled. The widest area is at the base, measuring 34-3/4 inches wide and 14-1/4 inches deep. Each individual book section measures 32-3/4 inches wide and is 13-1/4 inches deep. When facing the bookcase, the left side of the base and the back leg was cracked and repaired(See photos) The sections fit tightly together. There is general scuffing to the finish. ANTIQUE OAK GLOBE WERNICKE/MACY'S BARRISTER BOOKCASE SECTION Offered is a nice ANTIQUE OAK GLOBE WERNICKE OR MACY'S BARRISTER BOOKCASE SECTION. The section is not marked. The glass looks to be original and is intact. The piece was cared for well by the previous owner. But has some condition issues(small marks/scratches, chips in wood/veneer, the veneer on the back of the bookcase is warping/peeling off a bit and damaged, crack in the veneer on the side, pull slightly bent; see photos) It appears that the back has been replaced, so that is why the tag is missing. 4 Matching Lundstrom 5 Section Barrister Stacking Mahogany Bookcases Drawers
Before moving to my new house. I had a very tiny house, and needed to find a way to maximize my storage possibilities. Thats when I found out about Barrister style bookcases. And after researching some more, settled on the Lundstrom brand, as I liked its simplistic design. I traveled far and wide for years. Finally amassing these four bookcases, plus other Lundstroms I've still to list. Now with a bigger house. I find no more need to keep them, and am hoping someone with an eye for antiques and a need for plenty of book storage might need them. The top and bottom sections I have on these are less common than most of the Lundstroms you'll see listed here on Ebay. And for the 12 years I've searched for these I've only seen a pair listed maybe once or twice. But never have I seen a set of 4. I know the pictures are not the greatest. ... moreBut with all my other furniture and my low ceilings upstairs I had to set them up in my living room area which is already full of other furniture. They are in pretty good shape. A few(not many) have some paint splatter on the back sides(from paintint the walls of the room that they were in) of them from previous owners who should have never picked up a paint brush if that's how they painted. Some(not many) have a small piece(and I mean small) or 2 of the mahogany laminate missing on the sides. And those ones I bury in the middle so you dont even see the sides. I had all 4 of these next to each other on one wall. All are unrestored as far as I can tell and in very nice usable shape. They could use a good cleaning and some wax and they'll look great for another 100 years. They are located in Glen Gardner NJ. Which is exit 17 off of Rt 78. Antique Gunn Barrister Bookcase 4 Section Oak w/Original Glass Smooth Doors
We are pleased to offer to the market this great antique barrister bookcase. This ca. 1901 case bears the Gunn Mfg. Co. tag with a mfg date of 1901. Constructed from tiger oak this piece is solid and in amazing condition for the age. The doors have the original glass and the finish is also original on this. This measures 34 1/8" wide x 14 1/8" deep x 55.5" high. The top three sections are 8.75" high inside and the bottom section is 10.75" high inside. These have a book depth of 10.5" There are a couple of chips in the veneer on the back sections and there is some light bubbling to the finish on the top as well as paint speckles on the top. There are some age appropriate scratches as well. This is being sold as a local pickup only. If you would like to make arrangements on your own to have this shipped. The pickup ... morezip code is 01453. We will not put this on a Greyhound bus. This is a previously owned item and it is being sold as is as shown.
