I have spent endless hours locating a source for these knobs. This auction is for 2(two) AGED/BURNISHED) base knobs. Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. If you want the knobs polished it is an additional please see the other ad. This is a beautiful genuine Elastic bookcase by Globe Wernicke"C" bookcase top shelve section in quartersawn tiger oak. It has original finish The top measures approx 34"L x 9 1/2" deep x 4 3/ 4"H. This auction is for the section the top shelve only the case is available in a different auction I left the wood as found no stains or cleaning products used so that when you get this you can match it up easier to he color of yours. First and foremost I am not a collector or knowledgable of this type of item. Please look closely at photos and ask questions if needed. I can send additional photos upon request. This is for one antique Globe-Wernicke set of two bookcase/cabinet pieces. Top and the bottom piece. What you see in the pic is what you get. The cabinet on the top does have the label. It reads" Globe-Wernicke Sectional Bookcase Made in Cincinnati Standard D-10 1/4 unit pattern 110 grade 598 1/2. The bottom cabinet piece does not have a label/ makers mark but it is identical to the top. The hardware looks fairly old. Does show age and wear. There are scratches and scuffs on wood. I would refinish it unless you like the look. Glass is chip and crack free. Cabinets open and close with ease. A very pretty piece that was in my Uncle's farm estate I inherited ... morethat I need to down size. Again not a collector so please ask questions if needed. Collector's piece lawyers barrister stacking bookcase with a lovely dark reddish brown original finish. This is a rare double wide colonial barrister that comes apart for a total of 6 seperate pieces. The wood is Mahogany and is grade 598 1/2 the finest they made. The doors open and slide into the bookcase to protect the bookcases. This bookcase came from the library at Marymount college after it was closed. All sections that hold the books are labeled with a special label. Says Philadelphia. New York, London, and Paris. The base is also labeled A-C Double Colonial Drawer Base. The bookcase has two desireable drawers at the base of the bookcase. The bookcase is extremely well made with thick, heavy mahogany.
