This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. Antique Art Metal Stacking Bookcase Machine Age Industrial 3 Section
Great stacking bookcase circa 1940 from the machine age start of the midcentury modern period. It has a sticker on the top front that reads ART METAL JAMESTOWN? NEW YORK USA- Bookcase is metal but original finish is made to look like mahogany. As you can see one window needs replaced and there is some wear to the finish and spotty rust spots but overall very presentable. No dents. Both top and bottom remove leaving 3 matching stackable sections. Doors work nicely. Overall size is 52" tall by 32 3/4' wide by 18" deep plus a little additional for the knobs. Broken down each section is about 15" tall plus another 3/8" indented section for the next stack to fit on. Actual working size-that is the amount of room you have for the books giving clearance for the door and door mechanisms are 17 1/4" deep. 30 1/8" ... morewide by 12" tall. After you get away from the side brackets-a book or so-you get a little more than 12" Each section weighs about 45 lbs These were the start of the metal stacking bookcase era-you'll find later issues that were made for the US government in gray. All of the copper bands are in place and in very good condition. Antique 3 Section Stacking Lawyer's Barrister Bookcase
Lawyer's or Barrister's stacking sectional glass-front bookcase from the early part of the 1900's. Dark wood exterior. That I believe was refinished about 20 years ago. The interiors are natural(light) wood. The wood and finish are in very nice condition. All of the glass doors operate correctly, and serve to keep valuable books clean and dust-free. There are no water rings or other marks in the wood. Bookcase is comprised of 5 pieces; a base unit that stands approximately 9 inches from the floor. One tall bookcase section that is 14.25 inches tall, and two regular bookcase sections that are 10.50 inches tall. The fifth piece is a decorative top cap that finishes off the unit. The bookcase was made in the U.S. by F.E. Hale Manufacturing in Herkimer New York, sometime after 1907. Hale Manufacturing is still in business today making ... morebookcases, in Frankfort NY. The bookcase sections still retain the original manufacturer's label. Antique Vintage Lundstrom Barrister Lawyer Stacking Mahogany Bookcase - 3 Sets
Lundstrom Book cases- Circa 1926. Three tops with original brass plate. Three bottoms and 13 individual book cases- configure bookcases as you please. Each bookcase is 13" x 34" Old wavy glass. Door are in really good shape. Solid wood. Light repairs needed on side of a couple of the book cases but does not compromise the integrity. Backs of all the bookcases appear original except for two. All knobs are original but 5 missing. Very beautiful. Great addition to any vintage library. Overall good shape for their age. Bookcases come apart for easy handing.

The bottom shelf is missing it's glass other than that all is there. I kept my dvds on the bottom shelf and it made much easier to take them out if glass wasn't there. Later when moving the glass was broke. All other pieces are in tack and original to my knowledge. I say that because it's the old style wavy glass. So most likely original. Also most of the red GRM triangular logo located on the back is there. See pics for details. Vintage 1930's-40's Stacking Barrister Bookcase Set of 3 Nice Condition
Up for auction is a beautiful set of 2 + 1 stacking lawyer Barrister bookcases in excellent condition with original wavy glass. What is here is a set of two matching sectional stacking bookcases that someone has added a perfect fitting 3rd piece to add to the height and storage capacity. The 2 section bookcase marked"The Globe-Wernicke Company" of Cincinnati and is unusual in that it has the original drawer at the bottom. The middle section is marked HALE of NY. Nice original brass hardware on each. Barrister cases were made by many companies designed to interlock in pieces so you could buy just two and add if you needed capacity. The set measures 47" tall x 37" wide x 12" deep. The top has been refinished to match the mahogany due to fading but matches wonderfully. The middle sectional is a slightly browner mahogany ... morecolor but is not very noticeable. My camera is accentuating the color. If you saw them in person it is hard to tell. The side hardware is different on the middle section but the stack tight and sturdy. This is a beautiful set of Barrister bookcases from the 1920's-30's.
