Each section has interior measurements of 32" x 8" x 12" Doors are missing. The base is plain with square legs and no drawer. Each section has a label as shown that reads Globe Wernicke Sectional Bookcase Cincinnati Standard C-11 Unit Pattern 111 Grade 598 This has been used as an open bookcase in our home for years. The finish is original but not very good or consistent. We have not attempted to clean it up or polish it. The legs do not have brass caps on the bottom. This is a rare double wide colonial barrister that comes apart for a total of 6 seperate pieces. The wood is Mahogany and is grade 598 1/2 the finest they made. The doors open and slide into the bookcase to protect the bookcases. This bookcase came from the library at Marymount college after it was closed. From an estate sale. A 5-section barriester bookcase with base and top. The top 3 sections are regular bookcases, the bottom two sections each have 3 file cabinet drawers. Patent date 1917. Overall outside dimensions are 41.5" wide, 17" deep, and 79" tall. The inside dimensions of the bookcase shelf: 15.5" between the back and the back face of the door, 40" wide, and 10" tall to the bottom of the door when it is rolled up- that is, the*useful* height that you could fit a book in. I did some google research and couldn't find a standard size the corresponded to these dimensions. So they may be a custom unit. Very deep, but pretty short. There's nail holes on the fronts of the file drawers, looks like they used to have handles, and probably also brass frames for putting a label in. So you might want to replace ... morethose. Antique Leaded Glass Globe Wernicke Lawyers Barrister Bookcase This auction is a hard to find antique leaded glass Lawyers or Barrister Bookcase made by Globe Wernicke. It is in very good original condition and has its original varnish finish. It is made of mahogany and has developed a wonderful warm patina. It is in very good condition overall. Showing only normal use. The lower section has a couple of hairlines The bookcase measures 45' high 34' wide and 10.25' deep The top section is a D 8 1/2. The middle is a D 10 1/4 and the bottom we believe to be the a D 10 1/4 as well, as it measures the same as the middle section. ANTIQUE OAK GLOBE WERNICKE/MACYS BARRISTER BOOKCASE Wavy GLASS DOOR
Up for auction is this bookcase door off of a old barristers cabinet. I am not sure of the manufacture.frame seems to be in solid condition. This door also has the old wavy glass.wood has a nice patina probably oak. Door measures 32 7/8" x 11 1/8" Glass size measured in frame is 30" x 7 7/8" There also are some cutouts on the frame out of the wood not sure what they were for. Antique Globe Wernicke Quartersawn Oak Barrister Bookcase Section D? Grade 299
This is a barrister bookcase section made by the Globe Wernicke Co. I believe it is a model D and grade 299. It measures aprox. 34" wide x 11" deep x 10 3/4" high. The glass is broken as you can see and will be removed prior to shipping. There is some white paint on one side and nicks and dings, otherwise it is complete and in good condition. We also have some other sections, tops and doors presently listed. It is available for pickup or can be delivered by Fed Ex ground for 24.80 to the lower 48 states. Please e-mail with any questions.
