Each of the drawers has a working lock and the key is included. There are 3 glass shelves on the upper center and 6 wood shelves in the upper left and right unit. Each of lower doors conceals one wood shelf. The upper unit is lighted but the current cord should be replaced. This item is in wonderful antique condition with only minor signs of age appropriate wear as pictured. The original antique bubble glass is free from breaks or damage which is very hard to come by. The backing to the upper unit looks to be lined in a off white colored wall paper and there is a red drip stain to this surface as seen in image#18 on the lower left side. Wear to the finish on one of the shelves can also be seen in image#18. Breakfront measures 92"h x 72"w x 16"d in total. The upper unit measures 56"h x 70"w x 12"d. Early Tiger Oak Globe Wernicke Lawyers Bookcase Drawer Base
This is a nice condition base stand for a Globe Wernicke Lawyer's Bookcase. Looks like Tiger Oak but I'm not a professional. The drawer needs a little TLC. While it does function it needs a mild remedy to make it easier to open and close. I have several broken water damaged pieces of a bookcase but this was protected from harm and is still in good shape. For a restoration piece its great! Finish is dulled but its a solid base. Wish I could restore it myself. I love these"modular" bookcases quite modern for their day! I would like someone to have it who is interested in restoration of these. Very nice looking all original early 1900's Macey 3 stack barristers bookcase. This one is in very good condition with all original wavy glass and great looking tiger oak. Dimensions are 57H X 34W X 14 D. A few minor imperfections such as the hole thru the back of one of the units.It won't be noticeable when you put books in in though and a small chip of wood missing out of the corner of the bottom unit.
