Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. This measures a total height of 80 in( 6 ft 8 in) A total width of 34 inches and a total depth at the deepest portion of 14 3/4 inches, and the approximate weight of this piece is 55 lbs. The top of this etagere offers a incised carved pediment that rests between an arch. With raised carved panels of walnut accenting each side. Below is the vintage replacement mirror that is in excellent condition and measures 29 in high by 16 inches wide. Finely turned walnut spindle posts with turned finials, flank the mirror and offer support for the display shelves on each side. Below the mirror is an additional carved display shelf that is supported by a pierced carving. The largest shelf rests below the mirror and boasts of feather walnut and offers a unique small storage drawer below with early hand-cut dovetailed joints, and an open carved small gallery at the back. Elegant out-swept carved legs support the larger shelf and the display shelf at the base with the front legs having pierced carvings at about midway. Probably done at the same time as the finish. The spots that might have revealed the maker name have paint on them so I am selling it as maker unknown. In addition to the 2 sections, it comes with the original top or crown, and a base with drawer. It also features metal side straps between each section and the scissor mechanism for the doors. No problems with the 2 glass doors. In fact, I see no problems at all. With the square straight legs it is very mission looking and being from about 100 years ago, I think we can safely call it authentic mission furniture in every way except the finish, although a lot of mission furniture WAS this color when it was new. The joints are all tight and all sections lock together easily and correctly. While only a 2 stack, it is a big 2 stack with each section able to take books as much as 13 1/2 inches tall. The over all measurement are 34 inches wide as most of these are, and with base and crown a total of 45 inches tall. It is a full 14 inches deep from knobs to back. I am listing this as local pick up only. BUT there are shipping/delivery options for you to chose from. RI delivery is $50 MA or CT. $100 If you are beyond those states. Up for sale is this barrister bookcase base and top. There is no label so I don't know the precise maker. The base is missing its bottom panel. There is some veneer loss/damage to the top along with other wear and tear, so please know that these are a refinishing project. The top measures about 34" across and 12" wide including the lip on the very top. The base is about 12 1/2" wide including the lip at the very bottom, and 34" across. The last photo shows how the top fits on a Macey D12 section, those sections are about 11 1/8"

These three Globe Wernicke bookcases each have a rolled top( That is highly sought after) Three sections and a base. All three have been in my family since new. They were originally display cases in my family's general store back in the early 1900's. They were produced between 1910 and 1920. They are in very good condition considering their age and are nice display cases or book shelves. The Good They have never been renovated. They have the rolled top design. They have the original finish. They have original glass. Manufacturers stickers intact Door mechanism's are intact and work good. All sections are tight with no damage. Separations or weak points. Here’s a 5 stack Globe- Wernicke barrister bookcase in beautifully figured quarter sawn oak. It’s complete with top and base. These are older turn of the century bookcases. The unit measures 69 7/8” high. 34” wide, and 11” deep. The labels read, from top to bottom: D 10 ¼-299, 108-299, 110-299, D10 ¼-299, D10 ¼-299. All units measure 11 ½” inside, top to bottom except 108-299 which measures 9 5/8” These are from my Mother’s estate and are in very good condition-probably close to 100 years old so obviously there may be a minor scuff or nick—but not many. All have the original wavy glass and brass knobs. Metal sidebands are naturally worn. The wood has beautiful patina and lovely grain pattern. These are pickup only at my home in Fenton, Michigan 48430. I also have 11 additional units in various sizes that are negotiable ... moreif the buyer wishes more. Real nice Globe Wernicke Barrister Top and barrister base. Contour top with original bands. Original finish. 34 inches wide. About 10 1/2 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches tall for the top. Same for the base but the base is taller. 5-6 inches I guess. This is a rarer size and fits sections that are 9 1/2 deep. Outstanding oak grain. Has a small nick that I photoed. Not major. The top is lovely. The piece of wood that goes across the base has a section that splintered off but is still in good shape. Works fine and is very stable I have a photo of it on a matching base. Antique Globe Wernicke 5 Stack Lawyers Barrister Bookcase with Base& Top! Great condition. Antique. Made by Globe Wernicke, Patent 110 Grade 198. 5-Stack. With step back bottom section. Oak. With the top and base, this stands approximately 77"tall. The bottom section measures about 16" tall, and is about 14" front to back. The other sections are 13" tall, 11" front to back. Has brass knobs, and bands on the sides. Has glass in doors. Doors have scissor mechanism. This will be pick-up only. Located in Greenwood IN. Which is 20 minutes south of Indianapolis. This same wall has the beginning of a split. Which is slightly noticeable from the outside. The glass panels have dowel rods that allow the windows to slide up and down. Each side for the dowel rods is split and missing some wood. Still functions properly. I am not going to further mess with it but it could be repaired if you prefer but not necessary. Has the exact same finish number as everything else but appears slightly darker- mostly from the side. Looks good from the front.
