This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. The dimensions of the 4 adjustable side section shelves are 10” in depth by 18” in width and the dimensions of the 2 adjustable center section shelves are 11 ¾” in depth by 23” in width. We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique barrister bookcase. This is made by the Globe Wernicke Company. There is a sticker on the back wall of two of the sections. that reads D10 1/4 299. The top section meausres 13" high to the glass door opening. The next two sections measure 10.5" to the top of the glass door opening and the bottom section measures 10.2" to the top with the glass door open. The assembled piece measures 61.25" high and has a width of 34" and an overall depth of 12" The depth of the main body is 11" This is the standard style with plain glass doors made from quarter sawn oak and oak veneers. This has the original brass hardware. There are some light age and use appropriate scratches and dings. There are paint specks on this. A gouge in the wood on one side and there is an area onthe ... moretop that the veneer is coming loose. There is a piece of sticky tape from a hook on the right side at the top of this. We will leave this fo rhte new owner to remove as we do not know if it will damage the finish or not. This can be seen slightly in the picture of the side view. Antique Barrister Bookcase 4 Stacking Bookcases With Bottom Drawer
Up for auction is a lovely antique barrister stacking bookcase. This lovely piece has 4 stacking bookcases. With one drawer on the bottom. The piece measures 34" wide, 57.5" tall, and 11" deep. All the cases slide open with ease still. One of the cases has a small chip along the edge of the glass, the chip does not go all the way through the glass however. There is normal wear and tear on this piece given the age and use, but only minor wear and scratches. I have shown various pictures of the like. There are holes drilled into the back of one of the cases with writing, it is also shown in the pictures. The drawer is missing the bottom of it as well. Let me know if there are any other questions. This is a wonderful old bookcase. It can be one to four separate shelves with the top and piece bottom apron drawer separate pieces to make what ever shelf count you use be complete. We purchased it from an antique dealer in Leesburg Virginia in 1979. We down sized from a very large home to a retirement community. We tried to work it in but sadly. Just do not have room for it. The following is the appraisal we had done a few years ago. Appraiser's description: An American oak sectional bookcase by Lundstrom Manufacturing. Little Falls, NY, the moulded cornice above four shelf modules and an apron drawer on square feet. Measurements: Height: 48 inches. Width: 33 inches, Depth: 10 inches Date: Early 20th century. Additional Comments: A utilitarian piece that comes out of the Arts and Crafts tradition. Although rather basic with its"Mission" ... morepared-down aesthetics. Vintage Globe-Wernickey Barrister Bookcase with 4 Units, Top and Drawer Bottom
You'll be a happier bidder if you take the time to read all the auction information. Description: This is a Globe-Wernicke Bookcase or Barrister stacking unit bookcase in good condition. One unit is stickered D-10-1/4 and Grade 598. One taller unit is stickered 11-1/2 398-1/2 and the bottom unit is stickered 11-1/2. 598-1/2. It has a drawer on the bottom and four units that are two different heights. Not sure what kind of wood it is and there is an issue with the varnish on the side. All the glass doors work well and there is nothing at all structurally wrong with any of the parts. It is 11" deep and 34" wide. It is 61-1/2" tall and a great old piece of furniture. A beautiful 4 stack quarter sawn oak barrister bookcase by Globe-Wernicke. This bookcase features a top 8.25" tall leaded glass section. Two(2) 12.25" sections and one(1) 10. 25" section. The base has a dovetailed drawer with two brass knobs. Original stickers are on the interior back. Metal strap banded sides completes the look. This is all in original finish with a great patina. Mission Lawyer Barrister Globe Wernicke Bookcase 4 stack and drawer original
This auction for your consideration is an original Globe Wernicke bookcase. This piece was made in Cincinnati. Ohio around the turn of century. It measures 62 inches tall and 34 1/2 inches across. It has rolled feet and mission pulls. I think top is made of Mahogany, inside pine and outside Walnut. In very nice condition for age. 2 small pieces of wood scroll missing above both legs not a hard fix at all,I am just not qualified to repair. I not tried to clean much except for windows and wiping off dust. Sizes of sections are photographed from top of case to bottom. This is a pickup auction only. Lot of 12 Gold Polished Brass Round Drawer Knobs Cabinet Pull Nice Set! 1 1/4"
A lot of 12 knobs. These are nice polished knobs in a gold brass color finish. The knobs are heavy and attach with a screw. I have 2 screws and will include them with the knobs to give you an idea of the type to use. The knobs are about 1 1/4" in diameter and about 1 1/8" deep. Most were unused in the original packages.
