There are a few minor pieces of molding missing, one keyhole cover is missing, and is in good overall condition for being 130 years old. It has panel sides, carved columns, multi-molded edge on the breakfront and carved pillars. It is an impressive bookcase with a few minor issues. Each section is 10 inches wide, 7 inches deep, 11 inches high and 12 inches high on the bottom shelf. It is missing a few of the brass tacks, but overall it is complete. Up for auction is an original finish mahogany GLOBE 3/4 sized 2 stack barrister bookcase. One of the stacks has the original leaded glass door. The other has the original glass door. The doors move smoothly. The stacks are in the original finish. Have the original scissors and have the original stickers on the sections. The backs of the stacks are in excellent condition. The base is rolled, and the cap is bull nosed. The stacks are 25 1/2" wide. The stacks are 11" deep on the outside. There is a little wear on the front of the base. LOT 3 ANTIQUE MAHOGANY SLIDING DOORS. BOOKCASE? Good condition for age. ANTIQUE. Original finish. Mahogany. These measures approximately 29-1/2" X 19-3/4" 3/4" thick. I believe they could be off a Bookcase. One of the doors is missing rollers. One door is missing glass. And, one door is missing a finger pull. Top edge has a 1/4" groove in the center. The glass is dirty, it will need cleaned and scraped. Between the 3 doors I am sure a pair can be used. Please check out pictures they are the best description. Stamped"CW 60" Item# 120011TRP10 This is a fine antique Edwardian revolving bookcase. Crafted of solid golden mahogany, the top a single thick plank edged by carved molding over two levels of bookshelves. These are set at two distinct heights(10" top, 12" bottom) that allow it to comfortably hold most average size books. The sides are crafted of four shaped mahogany slats, each secured to the case with rounded screws, achieving the breezy and transparent overall aura associated with most fine pieces of the Edwardian period. The entire case spins with remarkable ease on thick dowel system inside of the case, presumably utilizing some kind of bearing inside for to account for the smoothness ... moreof the rotation(we have not taken it apart to see exactly what the mechanism is inside, but it is very strong and very smooth) This rests over four splayed feet locked together with a forged iron cross, resting over original caster wheels. This is the perfect decorator piece for any library or study. But with it's airy proportions still being very desirable in the living room beside a large couch. It is a gorgeous piece that was built to last generations, something that you will certainly enjoy in your home for a lifetime. This is a rare double wide colonial barrister that comes apart for a total of 6 seperate pieces. The wood is Mahogany and is grade 598 1/2 the finest they made. The doors open and slide into the bookcase to protect the bookcases. This bookcase came from the library at Marymount college after it was closed. Circa 1900 Mahogany Green leather inlaid steps Sturdy and strong Minor surface wear, Here is a very hard to find set of antique library steps. These steps were made in England sometime around 1900 and we have recently imported them into our Atlanta. GA antique furniture store. Library steps like this were designed to allow someone to reach the top shelves of the bookcases in their libraries. Some are simple but others like this one are more decorative and add elegance as well as utility to the room they inhabit. The wood used is solid ... moremahogany and the stairs themselves are covered in a green leather with gold tooling. A mahogany pole is central to the steps allowing one a place to use their left hand to keep balance while perusing books with the right. This pole is topped with a decorative brass cap. These antique library steps are in very good condition. The only wear is some superficial surface wear to the stairs as you can see in the photos. Structurally the steps are sound. At 180 pounds I am able to climb to the top stair and feel very stable. This is a very unusual find and would make a really interesting addition to any room with tall bookcases. These antique library steps are sturdy and beautiful. The four stairs spiral around the balance pole. Here you can see some of the minor surface wear to each step. The mahogany feet are quite sturdy. Each step is covered in gorgeous green leather. A beautiful and interesting addition to any home or office. The turned mahogany balance pole is capped with a brass top. Have Questions?
