Four separate stacks with this bookcase-a graduated unit with 3 different sizes. Note the top unit has a leaded glass door. Original labels on the interior and nice leopard bands on the sides. Super finish which is smooth and even. The interior height of the units is 13.5. 11.5, and two which are 9.5. The overall size of the piece is 34 wide, 12 deep, and 57.5 high. I don't think you will find a nicer four stack unit. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. Great stacking bookcase circa 1940 from the machine age start of the midcentury modern period. It has a sticker on the top front that reads ART METAL JAMESTOWN? NEW YORK USA- Bookcase is metal but original finish is made to look like mahogany. As you can see one window needs replaced and there is some wear to the finish and spotty rust spots but overall very presentable. No dents. Both top and bottom remove leaving 3 matching stackable sections. Doors work nicely. Overall size is 52" tall by 32 3/4' wide by 18" deep plus a little additional for the knobs. Broken down each section is about 15" tall plus another 3/8" indented section for the next stack to fit on. Actual working size-that is the amount of room you have for the books giving clearance for the door and door mechanisms are 17 1/4" deep. 30 1/8" ... morewide by 12" tall. It stands 51& 1/4” tall to the top of the back. 34& 1/4” wide and 12” deep. The two upper sections measure 11” tall and the bottom section is 9” tall. It weighs 90 lbs. One back panel is stamped by the manufacturer. Gunn, and reads“Gunn Sectional Bookcase, Pat’d. Dec. 5, 1899, Jan. 1, 1901, Dunn Furniture Co. Grand Rapids, Michigan. Rare, Antique Shaw Walker Barrister Bookcase, glass front, 3 piece Pick up NJ
Rare. Highly collectible Antique Barrister bookcase from the reputable Shaw Walker company. Stackable 3 piece, glass fronts. I am not sure of the type of wood, either cherry or mahogany- this piece is from the early 1900's- it has been well preserved and taken care of. The front and sides have been painted with a black Ethan Allen paint to match the other furniture we have- the inside of each unit and the back has not been painted. The measurements are about 49 1/2 inches tall(stacked with the 3 pieces) 34 inches width, and the depth is 11 1/2 inches. The top has a small scratch in the paint that measures a few inches, but the wood is not scratched as far as I can see. You can either touch up this paint scratch or remove the paint all together and restore to the orginal wood. Local pick up in New Jersey(zip code 07030)

Otto Wernicke of Grand Rapids patented the original elastic bookcase around 1892 and produced them in his own plant under the Wernicke name until around 1902. That's when he formed a partnership with Globe in Cincinnati and bookcases using his patent were produced under the Globe-Wernicke label. However, Wernicke was not happy with arrangement so he went back to Grand Rapids and purchased the factory owned by Fred Macey in 1905 calling it the Macey-Wernicke Co which was shortened to just Macey in 1907. It has three shelves and measures 26 ½” high 16 ½” wide and the shelves are 5 7/8” deep. The two bottom shelves have 8” between them and the top one is 10” to the peak of the dome. It is shaped like half of a boat with a curved top and straight bottom. It is a brownish red color, great for a cabin or camp in the Adirondacks. It is rather dusty, and tedious to clean each and every nook and cranny so, I will leave that pleasure up to the new owner. If I were keeping it for myself I would probably spray paint a new color. This is a hard to find combination oak bookshelf/bullentin board. It is both functional and displayable in many different settings. It is solid oak and probably from the early c.1900s. It is in the original found condition which is very good. There are no known breaks. Repairs or other damage. The wear is conistent and appropriate for the use and age. The bullentin board is of a cork material and is in great useable condition. The two book shelves are very functional for their different uses. Antique 3 Section Stacking Lawyer's Barrister Bookcase
Lawyer's or Barrister's stacking sectional glass-front bookcase from the early part of the 1900's. Dark wood exterior. That I believe was refinished about 20 years ago. The interiors are natural(light) wood. The wood and finish are in very nice condition. All of the glass doors operate correctly, and serve to keep valuable books clean and dust-free. There are no water rings or other marks in the wood. Bookcase is comprised of 5 pieces; a base unit that stands approximately 9 inches from the floor. One tall bookcase section that is 14.25 inches tall, and two regular bookcase sections that are 10.50 inches tall. The fifth piece is a decorative top cap that finishes off the unit. The bookcase was made in the U.S. by F.E. Hale Manufacturing in Herkimer New York, sometime after 1907. Hale Manufacturing is still in business today making ... morebookcases, in Frankfort NY. The bookcase sections still retain the original manufacturer's label. The assembled bookcase stands 46.50 inches tall. 34 inches wide, and the bookcase sections are about 11 inches deep, while the base and top cap are about 12 inches deep. Amazing and RARE find.Early 20th Century. And I mean 1900-1920 most likely; Solid Oak Paw Foot Bookcase. 3 large glass doors with push button latches. Tons and Tons of storage in this one. The interior wood is a little lighter than the dark oak on the outside, this was intentional by the builder. I believe this to be the original finish, and I do not find it to look as though any portion is anything other than original. There are a couple of cracks in the veneer on the top of the piece, you can see in pic#10. Huge paw feet, four sets, a couple do have missing toes. The glass looks to be original and is intact. The piece was cared for well by the previous owner. But has some condition issues(small marks/scratches, chips in wood/veneer, the veneer on the back of the bookcase is warping/peeling off a bit and damaged, the pull is bent; see photos) It appears that the back has been replaced, so that is why the tag is missing. Globe Wernicke 1900 Antique 3 Stack Lawyer Barrister Bookcase. Signed by famous maker. Globe Wernicke of Cincinnati, Ohio, this three section lawyer's or barrister bookcase dates from about 1900. Birch hardwood has a superb mahogany finish. Brass hardware and wavy glass doors are original. There is a tiny chip in the corner of the bottom glass pane. The base with a drawer and top are separate stacking sections on this American made antique library furniture. The top section fits books up to 9 1/2" deep and 11" tall.
