Up for auction is an antique Macey Lawyer Barrister Mahogany 3 sectional bookcase. There are three gliding glass doors. One is missing a knob. All of the copper bands are in place and in very good condition. The top has a couple of marks and two wood retainers for a glass panel have split(see photos 10, 11& 12) For its age it is in very good conditiion. Other than a stamp on the hinge PAT Jan 18 06(see photo 12) there are no other dates. Would prefer local pick up. However I will ship to your location at a cost TBD. This oak bookshelf is in good condition with some dings and scratches from years of use. The unit is five pieces consisting of base. Three shelves and top. At some point, the back panels were replaced, so I do not know the manufacturer. Outside dimensions are 50 1/2 inches high 34 1/4 inches wide. The top two shelves can handle books 10 inches deep and 11 inches high. The bottom unit can handle books 10 inches deep and 13 inches high. It is shaped like half of a boat with a curved top and straight bottom. It is a brownish red color, great for a cabin or camp in the Adirondacks. It is rather dusty, and tedious to clean each and every nook and cranny so, I will leave that pleasure up to the new owner. If I were keeping it for myself I would probably spray paint a new color. This is a hard to find combination oak bookshelf/bullentin board. It is both functional and displayable in many different settings. It is solid oak and probably from the early c.1900s. It is in the original found condition which is very good. There are no known breaks. Repairs or other damage. The wear is conistent and appropriate for the use and age. The bullentin board is of a cork material and is in great useable condition. The two book shelves are very functional for their different uses.
